The Unveiling of Secret Queen
Chapter 2354: Check Out the Forum, Prelude to a Face Slap!
They also heard about Nicholas Fuller’s outburst, running to block someone outside the Level 5 laboratory’s lecture hall, leading to an intense argument with Nathan Garland.
As soon as everyone saw Nathan Garland return, they immediately gathered around out of concern, asking, "Mr. Garland, are you alright?"
"Mr. Garland, I heard the director went to your laboratory’s lecture hall outside to block you. What did he want with you?"
"Is it still about that previous matter?"
Nathan Garland slammed the thermos in his hand onto the desk with a heavy thud, his expression revealing anger as he said in a low voice, "He thinks I’m the one spreading rumors in the institute."
Everyone looked at each other at once, with a hint of suspicion in their hearts.
But seeing Nathan Garland so angry, and with him appearing to be falsely accused, they began to doubt their own thoughts.
Someone was the first to cough and say, "Ahem, there have indeed been numerous rumors in the institute these past two days. I’ve heard some things about the director and the rookie king..."
He then frowned and looked at Nathan Garland, saying, "But this matter is only circulating privately in the institute. Why would the director specifically find you, saying you revealed it? That’s just too much, isn’t it!"
Nathan Garland, with a tight face, squinted at him and responded harshly, "Do you think I know why?"
With such a retort, the office fell silent for a long time, and no one dared to speak.
However, Nicholas Fuller was too impulsive this time.
Mainly because he went to find Nathan Garland without presenting any related evidence.
Over the years, Nathan Garland has been adept at building his persona, and a part of the institute’s people greatly acknowledges him.
So, after Nicholas Fuller’s seemingly reckless approach to Nathan Garland, these people sincerely felt indignant for him.
Someone said, "The director went too far this time. Since he heard those rumors in the institute, shouldn’t he provide evidence to prove his innocence? Coming to settle scores without any proof is truly... truly a bit unreasonable."
Others felt the same in their hearts, but none were as direct in saying it.
Nathan Garland’s expression softened a bit, appearing very magnanimous as he waved his hand, and said in a deep voice, "Let it be, after all, he’s the director of The First Research Institute."
"But the director can’t..."
Nathan Garland cast a sharp glance and sternly said, "Alright, stop talking. How do you think others will view The First Research Institute if this gets out? We are all part of The First Research Institute. Do I need to remind you of the principle ’One prospers, all prosper; one fails, all fail’?"
The more he maintained the reputation of The First Research Institute in such a way, the more it highlighted how Nicholas Fuller failed to uphold the responsibility and demeanor expected of a director today!
Nathan Garland no longer spoke to the others in the office, walked straight to the desk, sat down, opened the computer, and, with a stern face, seemed to be fully immersed in the institute’s work...
The time passed by, second by second.
Nathan Garland was calculating in his mind the speed of the situation’s fermentation, his eyes still on the computer screen, but his heart was in another place.
He indeed did not expect Nicholas Fuller to be so impulsive as to directly confront him. But that’s fine too; with Nicholas Fuller’s commotion, the matter grew larger, which was beneficial for him.
Nathan Garland was in a good mood, unconsciously operating the mouse, casually browsing some information on the research forum.
Just then.
Suddenly, someone in the office spoke up, "Quick, look at the forum!"
Nathan Garland furrowed his brows, raised his head, just about to scold them to be quiet and not disturb his ’work’.
