The Unveiling of Secret Queen
Chapter 2342: Nathalie Called Someone Over
"Nathalie Quinlan, do you really know people from the Chamber Alliance?" He gathered his thoughts, turned his head back, and became much more serious.
The Girl was still sitting there in her usual lazy posture, aura deliberately restrained, tamping down her temper.
She just raised an eyebrow, seemingly quite surprised that Fredy Yancey would ask that, and said, "I said so from the very Start."
"Are you close with people from the Chamber Alliance?" Fredy Yancey asked again.
Nathalie Quinlan propped her chin on her hand, lowered her lashes, thought for a second, then looked at him openly. "I know them, but we’re not that close."
Shania Yancey snorted again. "Heh."
Fredy Yancey ignored her and continued speaking to the Girl instead. "Then do you know the president of the Chamber Alliance?"
He pondered aloud, "Actually, the one we’re trying to see this time is the president of the Chamber Alliance. The main thing is to talk Cooperation with him. Because only he can make the final decision on this Cooperation, the other people in the Chamber Alliance aren’t of much use to us. Even if we meet them, it won’t do much..."
Shania Yancey only felt he was ridiculous, and casually cut him off. "What are you telling her all this for, you don’t actually think she can get President Simon Grayson to show up, do you?"
If Nathalie Quinlan could get the president of the Chamber Alliance to come, then she might as well summon Nicholas Fuller, the director of The First Research Institute!
Yet Fredy Yancey was actually talking to her so earnestly for so long—he was crazy.
Having been interrupted by her over and over again, Fredy Yancey was getting annoyed and was just about to frown and say something to her.
Nathalie Quinlan suddenly spoke up. "Simon Grayson from the Chamber Alliance, right?"
Fredy Yancey and Shania Yancey both looked at her.
The other Yancey Family members also looked at her in surprise.
The Girl, however, didn’t budge. She found her Phone from her bag, lit up the screen, pulled up the Message the Chamber Alliance had sent her earlier, then dialed that phone call.
The phone call connected in seconds.
Nathalie Quinlan glanced at the name taped on the Box door, turned back, her brows and eyes cool, and succinctly reported the name of the box.
In the end, she said lightly, "Mm, I’ll wait for you here."
Everyone watched her make a phone call out, then hang up.
Shania Yancey was stunned at first, staring at her deeply in puzzlement, as if silently asking, "What trick are you pulling?" "Who were you calling. President Simon Grayson?"
Fredy Yancey also looked utterly shocked. "Nathalie Quinlan, you actually contacted someone from the Chamber Alliance?"
Nathalie Quinlan put her Phone back, checked the time in passing, and said, "He said he’ll be right over. Let’s wait a bit, at most half an hour."
Shania Yancey didn’t believe her lame lie at all.
Fredy Yancey was half-convinced, half-doubtful, and for the sake of Mr. Yancey’s face, didn’t say anything.
The other Yancey Family members all turned to Mr. Yancey, as if waiting for him to speak.
Mr. Yancey picked up his teacup, looked leisurely around the box, and snorted, "What are you all looking at me for, there’s nothing written on my face."
The expressions of the other Yancey Family members all turned a bit awkward; one by one, they felt too embarrassed to keep staring.
Mr. Yancey himself felt even more annoyed, set aside the Tea in his hand without drinking, and looked meaningfully in Shania Yancey’s direction, sitting up straight as he said, "Didn’t you all want to see people from the Chamber Alliance? We’re only waiting half an hour anyway, so let’s sit and wait. I also want to see if certain people’s faces will hurt or not."
Mr. Yancey had put it that bluntly.
No one present was stupid.
They exchanged looks, then glanced over at Nathalie Quinlan and Shania Yancey respectively.
Of course, Shania Yancey was so angry her face flushed red and white, but she couldn’t openly talk back to Mr. Yancey.
Amadeus Yancey, meanwhile, had the waiter change the Girl’s bowl, carefully picked out a few pieces of chicken for her, set the bowl in front of her, and said in a gentle voice, "We have to wait another half hour anyway. Eat a bit more. This one’s pretty good."
