The Unveiling of Secret Queen
Chapter 2341: Mr. Yancey Thinks They’re Embarrassing
"Do you know anyone from the Chamber of Commerce Alliance?" Shania Yancey’s voice rose, the corners of her eyes revealing a hint of mockery: "Do you even know what the Chamber of Commerce Alliance is, and yet you claim to know someone from it."
"Shania." Mr. Yancey called her name in a moderate tone.
Shania’s expression changed instantly, the mocking smile on her face disappeared, replaced by an unwilling look: "Old Master, we’re discussing serious matters. She can’t be of any help, so there’s no need for random chatter here."
The other members of the Yancey Family were all showing quite interesting expressions, covertly sneaking glances at the girl.
Ian Edbert furrowed his brow, unable to sit still and wanting to stand up to speak for Nathalie Quinlan.
Amadeus Yancey glanced at him lightly, and said in a low voice, "Sit down."
"But." Ian clenched his fists in frustration, catching the man’s indisputable gaze, forcing him to sit down again.
Amadeus Yancey leisurely rotated the round table, stopping a dish in front of the girl, and lazily, arrogantly said, "This spicy chicken is quite good, give it a try."
His attitude clearly showed he hadn’t placed Shania Yancey in his sights.
Shania’s face turned from green to red to white, feeling that this meal today was suffocating, being looked down upon from beginning to end.
Fredy Yancey, trying to ease the situation, also picked up a piece of meatball in tomato sauce for Nathalie Quinlan with communal chopsticks, saying, "This is also good."
Seeing the awkward atmosphere at the dining table, Fredy Yancey turned sideways, very good-naturedly saying to the girl, "Do you like spicy chicken? I know a chef at a Sichuan restaurant in Beijing whose skills are quite authentic. I’ll take you to try it one day when you return."
Nathalie Quinlan no longer picked up the chopsticks, holding the tea, briefly sipping it, then placed the cup down, leaning slightly back.
Raising her eyes, her gaze sharp and clear, seemingly unaffected by Shania Yancey: "Who are you looking to contact in the Chamber of Commerce Alliance?"
Fredy Yancey’s gaze froze for a moment when looking into her eyes, his brow furrowed, pausing, unsure why she redirected the topic back: "Nathalie, you..."
"Heh." Shania Yancey couldn’t help but let out a snicker, lazily saying, "I told you, just explain it to her, so she stops nagging you."
Fredy Yancey shot her an irritated look: "You could say fewer things!"
She didn’t see that Mr. Yancey and Candice Yancey had taken a liking to Amadeus’s little girlfriend; as a distant relative elder, why make herself look foolish here?
Fredy Yancey saw this clearly, also very aware of his place in the Yancey Family, never competing, never causing trouble.
Having finished reprimanding Shania, Fredy Yancey turned back, restraining his anger slightly, and continued gently toward Nathalie Quinlan: "Nathalie, I understand you want to help. But this matter is rather complicated..."
"The Chamber of Commerce Alliance isn’t as simple as you might think. We’re not looking to meet ordinary people among them for business negotiations... In short, just leave it to me, I’ll handle it." Fredy Yancey carefully worded his statement to avoid hurting the young girl’s self-esteem.
Nathalie Quinlan understood, picked up the tea on the table and swirled it gently, rolling her eyes, with a gaze hard to hide her rebelliousness: "You want to contact the President of the Chamber of Commerce Alliance?"
Fredy Yancey struggled to find words when she asked, looking instinctively towards Mr. Yancey’s direction.
Giordano Yancey’s expression was icy, with eyes fixed ahead, nose unmoved, seemingly not wanting to engage with them.
Fredy Yancey furrowed his brow, vaguely sensing Mr. Yancey’s attitude seemed less like worrying Nathalie would embarrass, but more like disdainful of them being an embarrassment.
