The Unveiling of Secret Queen
Chapter 2333: Lynn Kingsley Seems to Have Special Feelings for Lynette Kingsley
"Ms. Quinlan..." James Lawrence blurted out, immediately realizing he had spoken without thinking. Instinctively, he lifted his head to sneak a glance at Lynn Kingsley’s expression.
Lynn Kingsley seemed not to have heard his words, his face revealing no trace of emotion.
James Lawrence seemed to understand something, his eyelids fluttered, and he quickly lowered his head, continuing, "Ms. Quinlan has been staying at the research institute these days, coming and going early. I don’t know what she’s doing there, it seems like she’s investigating information."
The First Research Institute is Nicholas Fuller’s turf.
Nicholas Fuller hates having others meddle excessively.
The major powers in Inderia fear him, so over the years, they have restrained themselves in this regard, with limited influence within The First Research Institute.
James Lawrence only knows that Nathalie Quinlan has recently been buried in The First Research Institute’s archives, going there early every day and leaving late.
Lynn Kingsley leaned back in his chair, bowed his head slightly, and smiled before saying to James Lawrence, "Go and find Zevaney Kingsley."
James Lawrence quickly raised his head.
Three days ago, Lynn Kingsley had called Zevaney Kingsley back, and then decisively put her under house arrest.
Recently, quite a few people in the Kingsleys Family have placed their bets on Zevaney Kingsley, and this group has been causing a commotion, all wanting to see Lynn Kingsley.
This time, however, Lynn Kingsley was especially forceful, refusing to see anyone!
Hansel Kingsley had even approached James Lawrence several times, but Lynn Kingsley simply wouldn’t meet him, causing Hansel Kingsley considerable embarrassment.
"Clan Chief, do you have any business with Ms. Kingsley?" James Lawrence dared not ask too much, only cautiously inquired.
Lynn Kingsley replied blandly, "Tell her, my patience is limited. She’d better hand over what I want, or don’t blame me for not sparing her face then."
James Lawrence’s heart was racing, feeling that Zevaney Kingsley seemed to have unknowingly triggered the Clan Chief’s ire.
He dared not lift his head, lowering it further, "I’ll get right on it."
"Go."
Lynn Kingsley waved his hand with apparent fatigue, signaling for him to leave.
James Lawrence quickly lifted his head, glancing back once before stepping out.
The weather in Inderia in March had already started to warm, the sunlight outside was just right, the warm rays streaming in through the floor-to-ceiling window.
Lynn Kingsley, tall and imposing, reached out to open a drawer, taking out a yellowed old photo, lowering his eyelids.
His aura remained as powerful as ever.
James Lawrence didn’t know why, but he saw an unmistakable trace of sadness on him.
This feeling was damn eerie!
James Lawrence dared not look anymore, quickly lowered his head, and swiftly exited, closing the door behind him.
*
Three in the afternoon.
Zevaney Kingsley met James Lawrence at her residence; he conveyed Lynn Kingsley’s words verbatim, then prepared to leave.
Zevaney Kingsley, expressionless, saw him out.
It wasn’t until she closed the door that she revealed a hateful, twisted expression, returning to her room and furiously smashing all the cosmetics on the dressing table to the ground.
After venting for a while, Zevaney’s room was a complete mess, not a single foot of space unoccupied.
With a somber face, she opened the door, addressing the servant frequently looking up from below, "One of you come in and clean up the room for me."
The old servant, who had been around her for over ten years, seeing the others hesitating, took the initiative to pick up a broom, "I’ll go up."
The others were relieved that she bore the brunt of the low pressure, nodding their thanks with their eyes.
The old servant collected the cleaning tools and went upstairs.
...
In the bedroom on the second floor.
Zevaney Kingsley sat at the dressing table in her bedroom, retrieving an old notebook from the drawer.
