Chapter 1545 - 1532: Were You Well-Behaved at Home Today?

Went to the Shaw Family to mooch a dinner and gossip about the marriage of the Shaw Family’s relative, Miss Lana. After being cooped up for a week, Chloe Winston finally felt somewhat relieved. Back at the villa on Fulham Road, she had a shower, changed into pajamas, and played on her phone on the bed.

Being pregnant, the plans to make money from acting were all put on hold. The most frustrating part was Constantine Stewart announcing the marriage on his own accord. Thinking of being tagged as Mrs. Stewart and attracting attention wherever she went was unsettling for Chloe Winston.

Constantine Stewart entered the bedroom after a shower, seeing the young lady in soft white pajamas, her black hair tucked behind her ears, devoid of any jewelry, innocently nestled in the duvet. The sight warmed his eyes as he thought of enduring ten more months before he could be close to her. He instantly decided that after this baby, he wanted no second child for at least eight to ten years.

"What are you daydreaming about?" Constantine Stewart got into bed, kissed her snowy forehead, and asked with a low, chuckling voice.

Chloe Winston looked at him with her big black eyes and said, "I haven’t told your mother about the baby yet. Shouldn’t we inform the Countess about this?"

After the Countess remarried, she never had another child. Though she would be considered an older mother given her age, modern medicine has advanced so much that having another child to stabilize her position wouldn’t be difficult, yet the Countess hadn’t done so, leaving Constantine Stewart as her only child. Chloe Winston thought if the relationship between the Countess and Constantine Stewart couldn’t be eased, the best course would be to foster affection between the Countess and her grandson, otherwise old age would indeed be somewhat lonely.

Though Constantine Stewart didn’t like it when she mentioned his biological mother, he didn’t say anything. He simply pulled her into his embrace, gently stroking her hair and said lightly, "Now that I have you, we will have children in the future, and that’s enough."

Was that a rejection? Chloe Winston pouted slightly, deciding to inform the Countess when they got married.

"Since you have time to daydream, why not consider how to handle the wedding?" Constantine Stewart had been focusing on the wedding lately. Richard Shaw’s wedding, though low-key, was still luxurious. Ignatius Leclair was reportedly having a wedding in the United Kingdom, preparing for half a year now. Constantine Stewart was somewhat worried about his own wedding and could only seek Chloe Winston’s advice.

"Neither of us has many family or friends; we don’t want to host a grand wedding. Such festivities belong to others. As long as we’re happy, that’s good enough." Chloe Winston snuggled against his warm chest like a little piglet, nudging her body slightly, and laughed gently.

Constantine Stewart felt a tenderness and unconsciously held her slender shoulders more firmly, said with a stifled voice, "I’m afraid of wronging you."

Whether it’s the Shaw Family or the Leclair Family, both are large clans; only his roots lie in France, the family descendants are not flourishing, and not harmonious. As for Chloe Winston, it’s even simpler – she basically has no relatives.

"Wronged for what, in this life, where is there so much suffering? My wishes have been simple since I was a child: to have food and drink and not starve, to be happy, and this current life exceeds all my expectations." Chloe Winston said with a carefree laugh.

Constantine Stewart gazed at her charming and delicate features, pinched her little nose and laughed, "So you are just a foodie. I will handle the wedding, you can just focus on eating and drinking happily and delivering our little baby."

Constantine Stewart lowered his gaze, contemplating. The wedding couldn’t be handled simply. As Constantine Stewart was busy with wedding matters, he loosened his control over Chloe Winston.

By the end of February, Wendy Starling found some time to visit her, seeing the splendid villa on Fulham Road, was a bit astounded. This location, such a vintage villa, money can’t buy.

"So, you really married Mr. Stewart?" Wendy Starling looked at the young lady, astonishingly beautiful, considering she was just in her early twenties, while Wendy herself, an old aunt over thirty, wasn’t married yet, and Chloe Winston had quietly married into a wealthy family. Saying she wasn’t envious would be untrue.

Constantine Stewart is such an exceptional man, beyond being rich and powerful; he is crucially, handsome and elegant, practically a rare gentleman type.

"Yes." Chloe Winston nodded, hugging the fluffy snow-white cushions in her arms and said, "On impulse, we just went to get registered."

Wendy Starling nearly burst into anger at her casually dismissive tone. Constantine Stewart, besides the commanding Vice Admiral Shaw in the Imperial City, is there anyone more outstanding than Mr. Stewart? The gates of the Shaw Family are not for ordinary people, yet Mr. Stewart is different, reportedly related to the Shaw Family, not living with his mother, essentially no mother-in-law, none of those tedious family relations, marrying into a wealthy family she could preside over herself. Such a marriage is practically any woman’s dream.

Wendy Starling took a deep breath to avoid appearing inexperienced, pulling the young lady’s hand, sighing, "I’m convinced; some people are born to be envied. From the first time seeing you with Mr. Stewart on a variety show, I felt you two were perfectly matched, indeed, in the Imperial City, these myriad dazzling beauties can’t compare to you. Seeing you two, I’ve renewed my belief in love."

Chloe Winston found her words amusing and burst out laughing, "We, too, went through some ups and downs to be together; it’s not as fairy-tale-like as you think."

Their past wasn’t something that could be explained in a few words, it had sweetness, and sadness, counted as a saga of breaking up and making up.

Since getting married, Constantine Stewart didn’t indulge her as he did before, often keeping a tight rein. He wouldn’t let her worry about anything. She actually felt a bit reassured, Constantine Stewart, being someone who lacked a sense of security since childhood, had weak familial ties, and strong control desires; if he wasn’t in charge, he wasn’t happy. Since he wanted to worry, she would take it easy.

Speaking, Constantine Stewart returned from outside, the man was busy with wedding matters, letting his subordinates draft several plans, refining everything from the wedding dresses, jewelry, and banquet specifications.

Alongside him was Earl Thompson, while discussing the wedding progress and holding a thick stack of wedding brochures, ready to present to Chloe Winston for selection.

Seeing a visitor at home today, Constantine Stewart was quite surprised, nodded slightly towards Wendy Starling, and said indifferently, "Miss Starling is here to see Little Chloe?"

Wendy Starling quickly stood up and smiled, "Yes, Mr. Stewart, it’s been a while since I saw Little Chloe, so I came by for a visit."

The man nodded, walked beside Chloe Winston, not caring about the presence of others, rubbed her head affectionately and laughed indulgently, "Were you being good at home today?"
