The mountain range remained surrounded by the distant sounds of the battle between the Medusas and the Beastmen.
Even from within the mountains, it was possible to feel waves of spiritual energy sweeping across the terrain. Explosions erupted at different points, accompanied by the soldiers’ screams and the metallic sound of weapons colliding.
Yun Che remained motionless before a stone wall. His white mask completely concealed his face, even though he was alone.
His fingers slowly touched a small formation engraved into the rock, a legacy of the Great Alchemist Rafael.
The formation responded immediately.
A thin light traveled across the symbols, and as a result, the mountain trembled slightly. A line appeared before him.
The stone slowly began to separate, revealing a dark passage that seemed to exist within the mountain range itself.
Yun Che observed the path for several seconds. This passage was not part of the Medusas’ ordinary defenses.
This structure belonged to the Mausoleum, and through the authority he now possessed over that inheritance, he could control it.
"This should do."
Yun Che entered, and the passage closed behind him.
For several minutes, Yun Che advanced alone through the darkness.
The tunnel seemed to pass through the mountain itself. In some places, ancient spiritual formations glowed on the walls, while small streams of energy flowed through the symbols left behind by the Great Alchemist.
Finally, a light appeared ahead, and Yun Che emerged through a hidden opening between two enormous rock formations.
He had not arrived at the battlefield.
Yun Che slowly raised his eyes, and what he saw made them narrow.
The tunnel he had just crossed contained a spatial formation that had transported him to a distant mountain, where the enemies had established a much larger logistical base than he had imagined.
Dozens of structures occupied an enormous area of the valley. Carts constantly passed through the area, while soldiers carried different types of wooden crates.
Large containers stored water and food, while spiritual crystals were transported from one structure to another.
Medical tents had been erected, along with workshops, weapon depots, and areas designated for alchemists.
Transport beasts remained confined within large enclosures.
The blacksmiths worked without stopping, repairing old weapons and forging new ones to sustain the army. Soldiers guarded every area of the enemy base.
Yun Che observed everything in silence, a small smile appearing behind his mask.
"If I destroy only one depot, they’ll simply use another."
He looked over the entire base again.
"Then I’ll destroy them all."
But before that, there was something Yun Che needed to do.
His Knights of the Apocalypse.
He possessed six Undead that he could summon freely.
He walked toward an open area near the mountains and stopped, breathing slowly.
Then the energy of death began to escape from his body.
A black mass spread across the ground. The wave of dark energy exploded around Yun Che, and then five silhouettes began to emerge from within the mist.
When the mist disappeared, five figures were kneeling before him.
Eryon, the Lich, supported both hands on his bone staff. The dark blue flames within his eye sockets calmly observed the distant base.
Valeria, the Vampire, slowly raised her face. Her ruby-red eyes reflected the scattered lights of the enemy base.
Kael, the Revenant, remained motionless, his fists clenched.
Nefrava, the Mummy, slowly moved one hand as her bandages coiled around her arms.
Morcant, the Soul Devourer, simply observed the distance with his completely black eyes.
Yun Che looked at them.
This was the second time he had summoned them.
"Rise."
The five obeyed simultaneously.
The instant they stood, Yun Che felt the true spiritual pressure of their presences.
Profound Nascent Level 3.
Yun Che’s eyes narrowed.
So this was what the system had meant when it said they could grow alongside their master.
The evolution of his own cultivation had also strengthened those five beings. They were no longer the same Undead he had created when he was at the Profound Elementary Realm.
Eryon looked toward the base.
"My master, this region appears to be a base. There is a considerable concentration of cultivators."
Yun Che nodded.
"It’s an enemy logistical base that I intend to destroy."
"I understand."
Valeria smiled.
"Then we’ll have an opportunity to test what we can do after our evolution."
Kael slowly clenched his fist, feeling his new power. After his master had advanced and consequently become stronger, he had also grown stronger alongside his Undead brothers.
"My master, do you want us to destroy this place?"
Yun Che answered without taking his eyes off the base.
"Yes. Your mission is to kill as many as you can. I’ll use the chaos you create to destroy their resources."
A smile appeared on Kael’s face.
"Then it will be a long night."
Nefrava moved one of her bandages.
"May I test my new strength?"
"Destroy everything you can."
The Mummy’s golden eyes glowed.
"It will be my pleasure, my master."
Yun Che turned toward Morcant.
"I’ll need you to update me on the most important points of this base. Collect enough memories to accomplish that."
Morcant remained silent for several seconds before answering:
"As you wish, my master. I will devour their souls..."
He paused.
"...and transmit the intelligence to you, Master."
Yun Che then looked at the five of them.
"You don’t need to protect my rear. Now that I’m at the Profound Nascent Realm, although I don’t possess combat abilities, I can still defend myself..."
"...if anything goes wrong. Besides, you now have another brother, and I’ll summon him when necessary."
Eryon slightly raised his staff.
"Understood."
"I want as much destruction as possible, so you don’t need to hold back."
Yun Che pointed toward the base.
"Kill as many as you can. One dead soldier here means one less for the Medusas to deal with later."
The pressure of death increased.
"While you fight, I’ll take care of the logistics."
Eryon lowered his head slightly.
"Then we shall divide the battlefield."
"Exactly."
A cultivator with strong perception abilities approached the area where Yun Che and the Knights of the Apocalypse were.
Finally, the presence of the five Undead was discovered.
The Lizardman carrying a box of spiritual crystals suddenly stopped. In front of him, black mist spread across the ground.
Yun Che stood motionless, looking at the Lizardman who had approached close enough.
They had not attempted to conceal their presence from the beginning.
Behind him, five figures remained silent.
The first cultivator who attempted to sense their auras turned pale.
"Profound Nascent..."
He retreated.
Yun Che allowed the man to run and alert the others.
Very quickly, the news spread like wildfire.
Within seconds, the enormous camp went into motion, and the sound of alarms echoed between the mountains.
The base contained numerous structures.
There were large food depots, water reservoirs, weapon warehouses, blacksmith workshops, alchemist tents, and entire areas dedicated to transport beasts.
Thousands of soldiers began pouring out of the structures.
There were roughly five thousand soldiers stationed there.
Lizardmen formed defensive lines with shields.
Beastmen advanced at the front.
Tempered Body cultivators strengthened their bodies, while Profound Elementary cultivators released their spiritual energy.
Within moments, the entire base seemed to have awakened.
Yun Che merely observed everything.
Then he spoke calmly:
"Destroy everything."
Kael smiled.
"As you wish, Master."
