Chapter 1463 - 1478: Meiwei Entertainment
Chapter 1463: Chapter 1478: Meiwei Entertainment
Lin Mu hailed a taxi at the airport, and the driver, familiar with the area, headed directly to Meiwei Entertainment Company. Twenty minutes later, the taxi arrived at the entrance of Meiwei Entertainment Company.
Getting out of the taxi, Lin Mu glanced at the building in front of him. He had to admit, the film company looked quite grand. But at this hour of the night, it was hard to tell if anyone was inside. Most likely everyone had already left for the day.
Lin Mu approached the entrance. In a small room by the gate, there was an elderly security guard with graying hair. Lin Mu knocked on the window, and the guard noticed him and opened the window.
"Young man, what do you need?" The old guard asked Lin Mu, squinting through his reading glasses.
Lin Mu smiled and replied, "Sir, could you tell me if there’s anyone still inside the company?"
The old guard waved him off, "No one is here; everyone’s off work. At this time, there’s no one around."
"Is that so? Well, do you happen to have the contact number for the person in charge here?" Lin Mu asked with a friendly smile, showing great respect to the old guard. Naturally, when dealing with seniors, Lin Mu kept his demeanor polite. There was little reason to provoke the elderly, especially since a confrontation wouldn’t be in line with the ethos of a North African Soldier!
The old guard looked at Lin Mu and asked, "Who are you even?"
Lin Mu smiled again and introduced himself, "Well sir, I’m a producer from another film company. I’d like to speak with the person in charge here."
"Oh, is that so." The old guard waved dismissively, "Everyone’s off work, come back tomorrow."
Lin Mu couldn’t afford to wait until tomorrow. If he were able to wait, he wouldn’t have rushed over so swiftly.
"Do you perhaps have the contact number for your company’s leader?" Lin Mu asked as he pulled out one of his Furong cigarettes and handed it to the guard.
The old guard didn’t hold back, accepting the cigarette from Lin Mu, who then lit it for him.
"Sure, there’s a contact number. Here, I’ll give you the producer’s number; this way you can reach him." The old guard said, evidently swayed by the cigarette.
"Thank you very much." Lin Mu replied with a smile.
The old guard rummaged through a drawer and pulled out a business card.
Lin Mu took the card and glanced at it, "Sun Weian, Producer and Consultant for Meiwei Entertainment Company, along with his phone number!"
Using the number on the card, Lin Mu dialed it, and soon the call connected, with a voice from the other end.
"Hello, who is this?" It was Sun Weian on the line.
Holding his phone, Lin Mu chuckled politely, "Hello, I’m from the Gas Company. Recently, our company is conducting a gas upgrade, so we need to call in advance to record residential addresses. Could you tell me which complex and building you’re in?"
"Gas upgrade? It’s working fine; what’s the point of upgrading?" Sun Weian asked, puzzled.
"Sir, it’s like this: our company is committed to providing users with safer and more comfortable services so we need to upgrade. Of course, if you don’t wish for it, that’s fine. But for your safety, we must inspect, repair, and record everything as our leadership mandates. It’s all for a better living environment for users, so please do cooperate." Lin Mu explained confidently, without a hitch.
"Is that so? Alright, I’ll give you the address. Just call ahead when you plan to inspect." Sun Weian said, not suspecting anything, since he couldn’t have imagined Lin Mu was impersonating someone. He then gave Lin Mu his address.
"Thanks for your cooperation." Lin Mu said, chuckled, then hung up.
After ending the call, Lin Mu hailed another taxi, heading towards the residential complex where Sun Weian lived.
Fifteen minutes later, the taxi stopped at the entrance of the complex. Initially, Lin Mu hoped the driver would go in, but it seemed a pass was required to enter, so Lin Mu had to get out.
This complex was high-end, with commendable security measures, no surprise even taxis couldn’t get in.
After getting out, Lin Mu moved to another side of the complex. Since entering straightforwardly was impossible, he opted to climb over.
The next moment, with a swift swoop, Lin Mu leaped, executing a front flip, like a bird in flight, jumping over into the complex.
Infiltrating the complex silently, Lin Mu proceeded according to the address given by Sun Weian, heading directly to Building Six. Soon, Lin Mu located Building Six and went upstairs.
Sun Weian lived on the second floor, so Lin Mu quickly reached the second floor.
Glancing at the door number, Lin Mu knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" A man’s voice came from inside.
"It’s me, open the door, Mr. Sun." Lin Mu replied, smiling.
Sun Weian probably didn’t think much of it and opened the door; once it was open, he glanced at Lin Mu, puzzled, "Who are you?"
"Heh, Mr. Sun, I’ve got something to discuss with you. Let’s talk inside." Lin Mu said as he tried to walk in.
"Wait a minute." Sun Weian blocked Lin Mu’s path, looking at him warily, "Who exactly are you? Do I know you?"
Lin Mu smiled without responding. Since cooperation wasn’t forthcoming, Lin Mu didn’t wish to waste words, he swiftly kicked Sun Weian in the stomach.
Sun Weian was knocked back inside by Lin Mu’s kick.
Lin Mu followed him in, shutting the door behind them. Sun Weian clutched his stomach, in pain, his face twisted as he glared at Lin Mu. That kick was truly unbearable for Sun Weian.
"What are you?" Sun Weian stared at Lin Mu and asked.
"Heh, who I am isn’t important. The key is I certainly know who you are." Lin Mu sneered wickedly before turning to sit on the sofa.
Sun Weian struggled to get up from the floor, still grimacing. After all, he had suffered a kick from Lin Mu; the pain was something only he could deeply feel!
"You better leave here now, or I’ll call the police." Sun Weian warned, glaring at Lin Mu.
Lin Mu chuckled coldly and, without hesitation, slapped Sun Weian across the face. A crisp sound followed, leaving five finger marks on his cheek, as his face burned with pain. Wiping the corner of his lips, blood marked his mouth.
"You can try calling the police, I won’t stop you, but you’ll soon be in danger!" Lin Mu laughed evilly, staring at Sun Weian.
Sun Weian was certainly not a fool; he clearly understood the implications of Lin Mu’s words. If he called the police, they’d arrive fast, if lucky. But should there be a delay of ten to fifteen minutes, whether he could survive that time was uncertain.
