Chapter 1462: Chapter 1477: Northbound to Longdu

As soon as Lin Mu sat on the sofa, his phone rang. He glanced at the caller—it was Nanny Yu.

Lin Mu picked up the call.

"Hello, Director Yu, what’s up?" Lin Mu asked.

"Boss Lin, we have a problem," Nanny Yu said.

"What problem?" Lin Mu asked.

"A few days ago, a film company here in Longdu asked Xiaoxun to star in a movie. So, we rushed over the other day to discuss the movie. Initially, everything went well, but after signing the contract, they changed the script drastically. Xiaoxun doesn’t want to do it, but the film company claims the contract is signed, and not acting would be a breach of contract. If we don’t proceed, they’re demanding hefty breach-of-contract fees," Nanny Yu explained.

"Damn, didn’t you tell them we’re the biggest Flying Dragon Film and Television Group in Southern China?" Lin Mu was displeased.

"I did mention it, but it didn’t faze them at all. The person in charge here even said that if the movie isn’t shot, it wouldn’t matter who we are," Nanny Yu replied.

"Damn it, they’re playing dirty, huh? What’s the background of this company?" Lin Mu couldn’t hold back his anger. Xiaoxun was a star he had personally groomed, relying on her to boost the reputation of Flying Dragon Film and Television so it could go global. How could he let her shoot something that relies on selling sex for viewership? Absolutely not!

Besides, Lin Mu didn’t bring Zhou Xun into the film industry to make some quick bucks since Flying Dragon Group doesn’t even care about that money. Lin Mu’s real purpose was to fulfill Zhou Xun’s childhood dream, and he didn’t care about those so-called high appearance fees, which were trivial to Lin Mu.

"This film company is called Meiwei Entertainment. They’re considered medium strength in the film industry, but in Longdu, they have exceptional government connections, possibly supported by big figures," Nanny Yu said.

"Damn it, no matter who they are, they can’t bully people. How are you guys doing over there?" Lin Mu asked unhappily. Was someone trying to trample over him? That’s unacceptable; Lin Mu was not pleased at all.

"We can’t return for now. Xiaoxun and I have been put under soft confinement by them. If we don’t pay, they won’t let us leave," Nanny Yu said.

Hearing this, Lin Mu realized the severity of the situation. Nanny Yu was a big figure in the film industry and could handle simple matters himself. Now, he was calling for help, indicating the situation was beyond his capability.

Nevertheless, hearing such infuriating news made Lin Mu even angrier. Damn it, at which shady film company in Longdu was playing with Lin Mu’s woman under soft confinement? They must be bored of living.

"Do you know where you’re currently located?" Lin Mu asked. Their behavior was already illegal, and yet they dared to break the law right under the government’s nose, were they not afraid of being investigated by the police?

"We can’t figure out our location. It seems we’re in a hotel, but I don’t know which one," Nanny Yu replied.

"Haven’t you called the police?" Lin Mu asked. If they reported it, the police would definitely handle the matter. After all, it was still soft confinement.

"We did call, but we couldn’t get through to the police, so we called you," Nanny Yu explained.

"Damn," Lin Mu was furious. Apparently, the other side had prepared for this. It looked like he had to make a trip himself.

"Boss Lin, what do you think we should do?" Nanny Yu asked.

"For now, I’ll head to Longdu immediately. You guys take care of yourselves and look out for Xiaoxun," Lin Mu said. In such circumstances, he had to step in personally. But traveling all the way, the nature of the situation would change. Those who dared not demonstrate respect anymore would face severe consequences.

"Understood, Boss Lin. Rest assured, they haven’t done anything excessive yet, just confined us," Nanny Yu said.

"Alright, I’ll get ready; I’ll be there soon. Don’t be afraid!" Lin Mu consoled.

After hanging up the call, Lin Mu called Earth Wolf and immediately booked a flight to Longdu.

After the call, Sophie asked, "What’s going on?"

"Flying Dragon Film and Television’s employees are filming a movie in Longdu. Due to contractual disputes, there was a conflict, and now the other film company has my people under soft confinement," Lin Mu explained.

"Soft confinement? Which film company has the guts to do that?" Sophie asked in surprise.

"I think it’s called Meiwei Entertainment. Damn, they sure are gutsy," Lin Mu said.

"Meiwei Entertainment?" Sophie wondered. "By rights, Meiwei Entertainment only has a slightly stronger position, not enough to defy the odds. Why would they dare to do this? Especially since they know Flying Dragon Film and Television isn’t one to be trifled with—it’s a dominant force in Huannan!"

"I have no idea. Maybe they’ve lost their minds. In any case, I have to go, and they will pay for this," Lin Mu clenched his fist and said.

"Be careful. Meiwei Entertainment must have someone backing them to act this way. So be cautious," Sophie reminded him.

Lin Mu nodded, "Got it, I need to catch my flight now."

"Are you going just like this?" Sophie asked.

"What else?" Lin Mu replied.

"At least bring some toiletries?" Sophie suggested.

"No need, all I need is this," Lin Mu said, patting his pocket containing his bank card and wallet. With money, everything’s convenient.

"Be careful!" Sophie cautioned, unwilling to let him go.

"Haha, got it. Don’t worry," Lin Mu waved and then left the office.

Soon, Lin Mu took the CEO’s exclusive elevator downstairs, informed Haihua, and then left Yunhai Mansion.

Soon, Lin Mu drove towards the airport. Indeed, with money, there’s no need to worry about bringing clothes or toiletries; money can get you anything, including any five-star hotel.

At the airport, Lin Mu hurriedly got his ticket and boarded the plane. According to the schedule, he wouldn’t reach Longdu until after seven in the evening.

Lin Mu was particularly anxious because he was worried about Zhou Xun’s safety. This incident was a significant issue, and harm to Zhou Xun would mean irreversible loss. Lin Mu had to ensure she was safe and unharmed, no matter how minor.

Around seven o’clock, the plane landed at Great Wall Airport. Lin Mu got off the plane, without a particular plan in mind. The only place he knew to start was Meiwei Entertainment Company.

For now, Lin Mu had to go there; only by finding them could he locate Zhou Xun and the others.
