Chapter 385: Chapter 382: All I Can Say is You’re Still Too Naive

The Tier Seven Bishop fighting the experts from the Treasure Pavilion looked startled. He gritted his teeth and cursed inwardly, ’Damn it, you can’t even handle a Fourth-rank Mage. What use are you to the Divine Sect?!’

"Bishop Li, you hold the line here. I’m going to take care of that kid," the Tier Seven Bishop said in a low voice.

Bishop Li nodded thoughtfully. "Go, but be quick. These guys from the Holy Hall are tough to deal with. It’ll be hard for me to take them down alone."

"Don’t worry. He’s just a piddling Fourth-rank Mage. I can deal with him in minutes." The Tier Seven Bishop gave a confident smile, then turned and charged straight for Feng Hao.

Seeing the Tier Seven Bishop charging at him, Feng Hao knew he couldn’t fight him head-on. He hastily activated Shadow Dash and fled into the distance.

"Trying to run? You think you can outrun me?" The Tier Seven Bishop sneered, speeding furiously after Feng Hao.

It had to be said, Feng Hao was indeed struggling while being hunted by a Seventh Rank Mage. If he didn’t have enough Magic Power for his Shadow Dash, he wouldn’t have gotten far at all.

Fortunately, his real intention wasn’t to escape, but to lure the Tier Seven Bishop away and find a way to kill him.

The Tier Seven Bishop, however, was oblivious to this. He was only thinking about killing Feng Hao as quickly as possible, taking the Divine Soul Weapon for himself, and then returning to support his comrades at the Treasure Pavilion.

"Kid, why’d you stop running? Out of Magic Power for your Shadow Dash?" the Tier Seven Bishop asked mockingly.

"Hey, uh... I think we can talk about this," Feng Hao said, putting on an act.

"Talk about it?" the Tier Seven Bishop repeated, stunned.

"That’s right," Feng Hao continued, spinning his yarn. "Actually, I’ve admired your esteemed Divine Sect for a long time. If it’s possible, I’d like to join you and become a glorious Root-cutting Mage. Your Excellency the Bishop wouldn’t turn me away, would you?"

The Tier Seven Bishop sneered, "If you had said this a moment ago, I might have agreed. But unfortunately for you, I’m more interested in your Divine Soul Weapon now. So you’d best just accept your fate."

"Holy shit, I was ready to join you! You can’t just do this!" Feng Hao’s lip twitched as he put on a terrified expression.

"Heh heh, I guess you’re just too naive. You don’t understand the wickedness of the human heart," the Tier Seven Bishop said with a cold smirk, then suddenly attacked.

In the next instant, surging Magic Power erupted from his body, rapidly coalescing into a roaring blaze that rushed toward Feng Hao.

’So he’s a pyro,’ Feng Hao thought with a playful smile, pulling Three-second Fire directly from his sea of consciousness.

The moment Three-second Fire saw the flames, it became interested. Cackling madly, it plunged into the Sea of Fire. In the blink of an eye, it had absorbed the blaze completely. It then looked tauntingly at the Tier Seven Bishop. "Hey, old man! Give me something with a little more kick!"

The Tier Seven Bishop’s expression changed drastically when he saw his Secret Technique suddenly dissipate. But when he laid eyes on Three-second Fire, his shock was instantly replaced by elation. "Haha! To think I’d encounter a Fire Seed in my lifetime! The heavens are truly on my side!"

"You brat, hand over your life!" The Seventh Rank Mage’s eyes were bloodshot and his breathing grew ragged. He desperately wished he could seize the Fire Seed and the Divine Soul Weapon for himself that very instant.

With that, he thrust a palm at Feng Hao. The wind from the attack howled as it erupted into a raging inferno.

Feng Hao didn’t dare to be careless. He quickly recalled Three-second Fire to his sea of consciousness and feigned the look of a man resigned to his fate, standing frozen on the spot.

Seeing this, the Tier Seven Bishop assumed Feng Hao had given up all resistance. Laughing heartily, he sent the Flaming Palm Wind crashing toward him.

However, in the instant before the Flaming Palm Wind struck, the fear on Feng Hao’s face vanished completely, replaced by a cold, sinister smirk.

"Old bastard, you really think I’m a pushover?!"

The next moment, under the Bishop’s shocked and disbelieving gaze, Three-second Fire shot out from between Feng Hao’s eyebrows. It transformed into a flickering crimson flame and engulfed the Tier Seven Bishop.

The Tier Seven Bishop was startled and subconsciously tried to retreat, but a dark green Magic Energy Chain had appeared at his feet at some point, binding him securely.

"You bastard, you fight dirty!" The Tier Seven Bishop’s face paled as his entire body was instantly enveloped by Three-second Fire. The terrifying flame damage made him scream in agony.

As it burned him, Three-second Fire cackled excitedly, "Gagaga! You think your Third Grandfather is so easy to snatch? So tell me, how’s that feel? Good?"

The Tier Seven Bishop let out a furious roar. Taking advantage of the small window when Three-second Fire’s flames subsided after three seconds, he launched an attack at Feng Hao.

The next moment, innumerable firebirds erupted from his body, swarming toward Feng Hao.

"Boss, watch out! The flames from these firebirds are more intense than mine! I can’t absorb them!" Three-second Fire warned hastily.

’Shit! Are you good for anything?!’ Feng Hao cursed inwardly. While doing his utmost to dodge, he charged directly at the Tier Seven Bishop, initiating Dark Moon Slaughter followed immediately by Moon Wheel Dance.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The damage from the Divine Spirit Su Wood Dagger was undeniable. After two Secret Techniques, the Tier Seven Bishop’s Qi Blood was completely depleted.

It couldn’t be helped. The Tier Seven Bishop was a Magic Injury Magic Master. Even with a full set of Primordial-quality equipment, it didn’t change the fact that his health was low. Factoring in the Qi Blood he had just lost to Three-second Fire’s flames, it was already impressive that he had lasted this long.

At that moment, the Tier Seven Bishop’s face was deathly pale. For the first time, he felt the fear of death.

"Young man, let’s talk this over! Didn’t you want to join the Divine Sect? Don’t worry, with my recommendation, I can definitely get you a good position!"

Feng Hao casually swallowed a Blood Recovery Pill and sneered. "Sorry, I was just messing with you."

"Damn you! I’ll fight you to the death!" With only his life force remaining, the Tier Seven Bishop roared in fury and charged recklessly at Feng Hao.

Yet, no matter how hard he struggled, he couldn’t break free from the binds of the Poisonous Chain.

Feng Hao paused, then quickly understood. ’No wonder I barely felt any drain. So he’s one of those who’s cut off his root of strength.’ He then said aloud, "This feeling of being completely powerless must be awful, huh?"

"You shameless whelp! If you have any guts, let me go!" the Tier Seven Bishop roared, his eyes filled with indignation.

"Tch. You think I’m an idiot?" Feng Hao scoffed. He didn’t attack again, simply watching quietly as the Poisonous Chain’s venom did its work. "Speak. What is your objective this time?"

Hearing this, the Tier Seven Bishop hesitated, then gritted his teeth and asked, "If I tell you, will you let me go?"

"As long as you tell me everything, letting you go isn’t out of the question," Feng Hao said, nodding thoughtfully.

"Our target this time is Sun Yaowen and his research on magic poison."

"Stop fucking playing dumb with me. That’s not what I’m asking about," Feng Hao said with a cold snort.

The Tier Seven Bishop gave a helpless smile and said through gritted teeth, "I’m not clear on the other objectives. I only know the orders from above were to occupy Five States City and take over the Five Provinces Academy."

"So you’re not going to tell me the truth, is that it?" Feng Hao threatened coldly.

"Young... master, I really only know this much," the Tier Seven Bishop said, on the verge of tears.

"You’re sure?" Feng Hao asked, casually twirling the Su Mu Dagger in his hand.

"Yes," the Tier Seven Bishop nodded eagerly.

"Alright then. You can die now." Certain he wouldn’t get any more information, Feng Hao stopped wasting words, raised his dagger, and slashed.

The Tier Seven Bishop’s face fell in horror. "You brat, you lied to me—!"

"Can’t be helped. I guess you’re just too naive. You don’t understand the wickedness of the human heart." Feng Hao sneered, throwing the Bishop’s own words back at him. A dark glint flashed from the Su Mu Dagger, extinguishing the last of the Bishop’s life force.
