The Strongest Talent Tree
Chapter 311 - 308: I am Sirlius
Chapter 311: Chapter 308: I am Sirlius
After dealing with the four-person team, Feng Hao’s anger finally subsided. He fiddled with the two Su Mu Daggers, frowning to himself.
He was still getting used to having a main and off-hand weapon, but he had to admit that the off-hand Su Mu Dagger did indeed deal more damage after he had refined a Natural Essence into it.
’I need to get more familiar with this and get back into my rhythm as soon as possible,’ Feng Hao thought to himself.
Meanwhile, after killing the Bow and Arrow Mage, Xi Yueyao was so smug she could barely contain herself. "Medicine seller, wasn’t I just totally awesome?"
"Yep, totally awesome!" Feng Hao chuckled and gave her a thumbs-up, which instantly satisfied the girl.
He then looked around. The vast Golden Light Basin was filled with shockwaves from the ongoing battles. As more and more Natural Essences were refined, the golden glow within the basin had also dimmed considerably.
Feng Hao wasn’t an insatiably greedy person. Now that he had obtained a suitable essence, he had no intention of lingering in such a chaotic place.
Of course, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of regret. After all, they had been the ones to discover these Natural Essences—no, that wasn’t right, it was the Yao Girl who discovered them.
"Let’s go," Feng Hao said with a sigh.
But Xi Yueyao had no intention of leaving. She pouted and grumbled, "No way. I found all these treasures. They should pay me."
"Don’t be difficult. There are so many Fifth-rank Mages. The two of us can’t handle them all," Feng Hao said, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
"But it’s killing me inside," Xi Yueyao said sullenly.
It couldn’t be helped. She was always the one taking advantage of others, so she couldn’t stand it when others took advantage of her. She had even taken advantage of Feng Hao when he first arrived in the Ancient Cang Realm. Although Feng Hao didn’t care about such things, she had delighted in it.
Seeing the girl’s aggrieved expression, Feng Hao couldn’t bear to refuse her. "Alright then. Your husband will risk it all for you today."
"Hee hee, Brother Feng treats me the best," the girl chirped happily.
"Heh." That single "Brother Feng" was enough to leave Feng Hao feeling completely refreshed, and he tossed all his worries to the back of his mind.
What was there to even think about? Whatever his girl said was right. He didn’t care how many people there were; if they didn’t pay up, he’d kill them all and send them packing.
"Don’t worry. With my ice sculpture talent, they can’t hurt me," Xi Yueyao said confidently.
"That may be true, but your husband doesn’t have a life-saving skill, does he?" Feng Hao teased with a smirk.
"Oh, right." The Yao Girl had a sudden realization and changed her mind. "Then never mind. I don’t want the money anymore."
Faced with such a considerate girl, Feng Hao was so moved his eyes turned red. Forget everything else—he was definitely getting that money back for her today.
Just then, a massive dark shadow descended from the sky. It was the Summoner from before.
"Do you two need some help?" the strange man asked with a light laugh as he hopped off the back of the Water Luminous Beast.
"Huh? Hey, man, you’re not dead yet?" Feng Hao asked, surprised.
"Hehe, with my Water Luminous Beast around, no one dares to mess with me," the strange man said with a smile.
Feng Hao studied him for a moment, his expression odd. "You want to help us?"
"Just happy to help!" the strange man said with a playful smile. "Besides, you two discovered this treasure trove in the first place. In a way, I benefited from your good fortune, so it’s only right that I lend a hand."
"Hmph. You’re just afraid we’ll ask you for money, aren’t you?" Xi Yueyao snorted, pouting.
The strange man couldn’t help but laugh. "Hehe, you could put it that way."
"Not bad, not bad. You have the potential to be my underling." Xi Yueyao nodded in satisfaction, a grin revealing her two small canine teeth. "Don’t worry. As long as you stick with me, I won’t treat you poorly. I’ll give you a share of the Magic Crystals we demand later... uh... I’ll give you ten percent."
The strange man froze for a second, then didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
"What? Is that too little? How about... I give you fifteen percent?" the girl asked, a stingy look on her face.
"Hahaha, your wife is certainly adorable." The strange man couldn’t help but laugh heartily. "Forget the Magic Crystals. I’m not short on those."
"You said it, not me. Don’t you go back on your word later," the girl said, her eyes shining.
"I won’t, I won’t," the strange man said, still not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
Feng Hao looked embarrassed. "Um... this girl is just like that. Please don’t mind her, my friend."
"It’s fine." The strange man smiled nonchalantly before introducing himself. "By the way, my name is Sirlius. I’m from the Second Ring Star Realm."
"So you’re a brother from the Second Ring Star Realm." Feng Hao gave him a slightly surprised glance before introducing himself. "I am Feng Hao, and this is my wife, Xi Yueyao. We’re both from the Ancient Cang Realm."
"The Ancient Cang Realm? A Bloodline Planet?" Sirlius exclaimed in surprise.
"That’s right." Feng Hao nodded with a soft laugh, his gaze falling on the Water Luminous Beast. "Brother Xilu, you must be a Summoner, right?"
Sirlius stroked the Water Luminous Beast’s mane and nodded with a smile. "Yes, this is my third contracted partner."
"Does that mean you have two other Summoned Beasts, Brother Xilu? Why not bring them out and let me see them?" Feng Hao asked enthusiastically.
"Er, my first one is rather special and can’t be summoned casually. As for the second..." At this, Sirlius’s eyes filled with sorrow, and he sighed faintly. "It died in battle protecting me."
Feng Hao couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed. He offered quiet words of comfort, "I see. My condolences, man."
While the two were talking, Xi Yueyao was already getting impatient. "Hey, hurry up! Some people are already starting to leave."
"Is that so?" Sirlius chuckled. "Then let’s get started."
"Uh, alright," Feng Hao nodded, taken aback.
And so, the three of them charged grandly into the crowd of scrambling Mages.
By now, the fighting had mostly ceased. Many people had already snatched a Natural Essence and were sitting cross-legged on the ground to begin refining it. Of course, many others had been killed and forced out of the Secret Realm.
As a result, only about sixty Mages remained in the basin. All of them were Fifth-rank or higher, and there were even a few Sixth-rank Mages among them.
Sixth-rank Mages still messing around in the Fifth Secret Realm were clearly nothing special.
"Hey, hey, hey! Listen up, everyone! I was the one who discovered this place. Since you all reaped such a huge benefit for free, you should pay me an equivalent value in Magic Crystals." Xi Yueyao stood in the middle of the crowd and shouted at the top of her lungs, "Of course, I’m very reasonable. I won’t ask for too much. Just one Level 6 Magic Crystal from each of you."
As soon as she said this, the entire area erupted in an uproar. Even many of the Mages who were in the middle of refining their essences couldn’t help but cry out.
"Where did this little brat come from? A mere Fourth-rank daring to spout such nonsense here?" a Sixth-rank Mage sneered.
"Hmph! Natural Essences have always belonged to the strong. Why should we pay you?"
"Scram. This young master has no interest in hitting a woman."
"I’m not giving you a damn Magic Crystal today. What are you gonna do about it?"
...
But Xi Yueyao was a big shot who had seen it all. This reaction was entirely within her expectations. Seeing their defiance, she gave a cold smile and looked at Feng Hao and Sirlius. "Hey, you, Si-whatever-lius! Sic your Water Luminous Beast on him—yeah, the one in the white clothes. He was the loudest one just now."
"No problem." Sirlius smiled in surprise and immediately ordered the Water Luminous Beast to pounce on the Mage in white.
"Medicine seller, let’s you and I take out that Sixth-ranker," Xi Yueyao said viciously.
Feng Hao smirked and charged directly at the Sixth-rank Mage. "Heh, just a trash Sixth-rank. Your husband is more than enough to handle him alone!"
