The Smiling Death
Chapter 604: Hope you find success
After a while, Celestia finally placed the notebook on the desk. A tired sigh escaped her lips. She turned her gaze toward Amon, who immediately flinched beneath her questioning eyes.
"How does your brain work? I’m genuinely wondering now..."
"Haha! Was that a compliment?" He wondered.
Celestia shook her head. "So, your story is set in a different world where there are kingdoms similar to ours. However, they all maintain relatively good relations with one another. Then there is an academy where your protagonist, Daemon, enrolls."
"Yes..."
"Well, that part was actually quite nice."
Celestia paused. "Then comes the introduction of a teacher—or rather, a professor at the academy. She has long silver hair and crimson eyes. She is a mature woman of thirty years old, with... considerable assets."
Amon gulped. He swallowed hard. "Then you introduced a romance between them. A forbidden one."
Celestia’s expression became increasingly complicated. "At first, she is strict with him, but after several incidents, the way they look at each other gradually changes."
"Well, I mean..."
Celestia didn’t let him finish. "Even that was fine. I actually understand the appeal of having the characters slowly fall in love with each other. That’s beautiful to be honest."
She paused and narrowed her eyes. "But why is she so incredibly similar to me?"
Amon froze.
"And also to my daughter." Celestia raised an eyebrow.
"Wh-what?" Amon immediately waved his hands.
"She’s not similar to you or anything! It was just a coincidence! And there is a perfectly valid reason why I made her hair silver and her eyes crimson! She’s actually a vampire!! So red eyes, and silver hair because she have snow affinity."
Celestia narrowed her eyes dangerously. "Well, let’s put that aside. It is still just a story, so there is no problem with that."
Amon quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
"But why are there so many... so many..."Celestia’s cheeks began to take on a faint pink tint.
It was first time he saw her face turn red, but rather than thinking she look cute, Amon suddenly wanted to run away.
Across them, Selena simply covered her forehead with one hand, looking utterly exhausted.
"Why are there so many l-l-lewd things?!"
Celestia’s voice became slightly flustered.
"What’s with this outline where, in her cabin, Daemon will squeeze her as— I mean, her rear?! And how can she even enjoy something like that?! Then there’s another scene where he goes under her desk while a few students come to ask her questions, and then he—he..."
She stopped, seemingly unable to bring herself to finish the sentence.
"That’s after she starts developing feelings for him," Amon weakly explained.
"Still!" Celestia looked at him in disbelief. "This book starts as a slow romance and gradually moves toward... all of that. It’s practically an adult novel!"
"I-I just wanted to write something that sits somewhere between a normal novel and an adult novel." Amon tried his best to defend himself. "Mine is something in between both."
"Yes, Mother. That’s why I said he really is a visionary author." Selena calmly came to Amon’s rescue.
"And this is exactly why I told you not to bother with it. You can’t handle it."
Amon glanced at Selena with gratitude.
’Thank you, Senior.’
One good thing for Amon was that Celestia wasn’t angry.
She simply looked slightly flustered. She pressed her lips into a thin line before handing the notebook back to him. Then she leaned against the back of her chair and crossed her arms.
"Haah... I suppose I overreacted a little. I was simply stunned because I’ve never read anything quite like this."
She paused. "Not because I can’t handle it."
"Yes, yes. Of course." Selena decided to play along.
Amon nodded quickly. "And books like this sell very well in the market, especially among younger readers."
Celestia looked at him. "And this will be the reason students start looking at their teachers differently."
"To be honest, many students already do that." This time it was Selena who spoke.
Silence spread.
Celestia stared at her daughter now. "...Whatever."
She then looked back at the young man sitting across from her, who had suddenly become very quiet.
"You little devil." She leaned slightly forward. "You never stop amusing me in the strangest ways."
A cool smile formed on her lips. "I hope you find success with your writing."
Celestia stood from her chair. "Well, I will take my leave now."
"Oh, you’re leaving already?" Selena asked.
"Yes. I still have some work to attend. Take care."
Celestia walked toward the open space in the office. A magical portal suddenly appeared in front of her.
Before stepping through it, she turned her head and looked at Amon.
"And Amon..."
He looked up. "Be careful and safe."
With those words, Celestia entered the portal.
The portal disappeared behind her.
Amon blinked several times. For some reason, her words had left him with a strange feeling.
’Be careful and safe...?’
He frowned slightly.
’What must she have come here to discuss with Headmistress Isabel...? Hmm... There must have been something important.’
"Amon!"
Selena’s voice pulled him out of his thoughts.
"Yes, Senior!"
Selena smiled at him. "You really are daring, you know. Giving a princess a book outline like that and asking her to read it."
Amon’s cheeks reddened slightly. "Well, I mean... you’re my senior, and you’re an adult. I thought you could read it as part of your work and nothing more."
"Yes..." Selena gave him a meaningful look. "I did try. But I never expected you to add so many things."
She shook her head. "You really are a pervert."
Amon immediately looked away. This time he didn’t deny.
Selena chuckled. "Hehehe~ This book will really sell well."
She picked up the notebook again that Amon had put on desk and glanced at it.
"Just choose a good title. I’ve already spoken with a publisher, so make sure you complete it as soon as possible."
Amon’s eyes lit up. Hearing that gave him a sudden boost of confidence.
"Senior Selena, without a doubt, you’re the best!" He nodded enthusiastically. "Thank you so much!"
"Tch! Don’t butter me up." Selena smiled softly. "Just treat me to something once in a while."
"A treat?" Amon grinned. "If you want, I can take you on a date."
"Heh?" Selena stared at him for a moment before shaking her head.
"You and your flirting..." She chuckled. "It’s the first time someone has actually asked me on a date, and that someone already has two lovers."
Her smile widened. "How bold. How shameless."
Amon’s cheeks turned red. "Hey! I was joking, you know!"
"I should tell Seraphina and Scarlett." Selena’s smile became mischievous. "They need to know that their man is targeting me now."
"Hey, Senior! You won’t!" Amon’s expression turned panicked. "That’s not fair!"
The office was soon filled with Selena’s teasing laughter and Amon’s increasingly worried protests.
And Selena was clearly enjoying every second of it.
