The Smiling Death
Chapter 603: It’s not for you
"Huh, I think I disturbed you. I’ll take my leave and talk to you later when you’re free." Amon bowed slightly, already preparing to escape the room. He was just going to turn away, but someone interrupted him,
"No need. Come inside," Selena said in her usual authoritative voice.
Amon stiffened. "Bu-but Her Majesty is here..."
"Mother came here to speak with the Headmistress. Since their conversation is already over, she decided to visit me before leaving."
Selena looked directly at him, seemingly unconcerned by her mother’s presence. To her, the situation appeared completely normal.
"Does my presence make you this uncomfortable, young man?" The Queen finally turned her head and looked directly at Amon.
"No!"
Amon immediately stepped inside and closed the door behind him. He walked toward the desk before kneeling on one knee.
"It is an honor to meet you again, Your Majesty."
Celestia sat elegantly with one leg crossed over the other, regarding him with the same cold, unreadable gaze she always carried.
"You may stand."
Amon quickly rose to his feet.
For a moment, he stood awkwardly while staring at the floor before finally lifting his gaze.
Queen Celestia wore an elegant gray gown adorned with delicate jewelry. Her long silver hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall, while her crimson eyes carried a coldness capable of freezing anyone who dared to meet them. Her rosy lips added an alluring contrast to her otherwise regal appearance, while her porcelain skin was flawless, without a single blemish.
Her huge breasts held by her down formed a perfect shape.
Amon had once rested his face between her chest before and jokingly thought of it as a pair of cushions from heaven.
’I absolutely cannot think about that right now.’
He quickly pushed the thought out of his mind.
"Take a seat. You came here to speak with my daughter, the President of the Student Council," the Queen calmly said.
"Thank you for your kindness."
Amon sat down in the chair beside Celestia.
"So, why are you here?" Selena asked, looking directly at him. Her expression was just as unreadable as her mother’s.
"Hmm... well, it was about... you know..."
Amon hesitated.
He had no idea how to explain it while Selena’s mother was sitting right beside him.
This was much harder than he had expected.
"Oh, you mean the outline for your book that you gave me a few days ago?"
Selena suddenly nodded as though she had figured out the reason for his visit.
Celestia raised an eyebrow.
Her crimson eyes shifted toward Amon.
"Book outline? Are you trying to become a writer?"
"Haha..."
Amon gave a nervous laugh and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Well... I’m trying to become one."
He then reached toward the notebook containing all the outlines for his story.
Selena took it from her desk and extended it toward him.
"I read everything..."
However, before his fingers could even touch the notebook, it suddenly vanished from Selena’s hand.
Amon’s hand froze in midair. He blinked. First, he stared at Selena’s now-empty hand. Then he slowly turned toward her.
"Where did it go?"
His expression was filled with confusion. Then he noticed Selena’s expression.
Selena quietly withdrew her hand and sighed. "Mother... she snatched it."
Amon’s eyes widened. He immediately turned toward the Queen. The notebook was now in Celestia’s hand.
She sat there as calmly as though she had never moved at all. Her right hand held Amon’s precious notebook, already opened to the first page.
She had snatched it away with such incredible speed that Amon hadn’t even seen her move.
"What is this book about, Amon?" Celestia asked curiously. "I never expected you to have a talent for writing. So this is an outline..."
Amon swallowed hard before forcing a smile. "Haha! It’s just a romance-focused novel."
The moment he mentioned romance, Celestia’s interest visibly increased. "Romance, you say?"
She glanced down at the notebook. "Hmm... then let’s see what kind of romance you are writing. I assume Selena has already read all of it, correct?"
Selena hesitated. "...Yes, I did."
She glanced at her mother. "And I think it’s something you don’t need to bother with, Mother. It’s not for you."
Celestia frowned, clearly displeased by her daughter’s comment.
"What do you mean?"
Her crimson eyes narrowed slightly.
"Are you saying I am not suited for romance? Do you think I am some emotionless woman who hates romance? Do you think I can’t understand it?" She didn’t like her daughter’s tone, Amon could tell it. He knew from Selena that her mother never fall in love so maybe her daughter’s words struck as harsh.
Amon swallowed nervously. ’Are they seriously arguing about romance right now?’
He glanced between the mother and daughter. ’If they are, then please don’t drag me into it.’
More importantly, he desperately hoped the Queen wouldn’t read his novel.
Because there was a very, very serious problem with that.
"Mother, that’s not what I meant." Selena sighed tiredly. "Then what is the reason, my dear?" She gave up easily, not wanting to argue with her mother.
At the Queen’s question, another wave of fear washed over Amon. He quickly looked toward Selena, desperately trying to signal her not to say anything.
Unfortunately, she didn’t even look at him. "Mother, this guy... how should I put it?"
Selena paused, seemingly searching for the right words. "He really is a visionary author, I suppose. Just... in a very unique way."
Celestia raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
Selena looked exhausted. "Whatever. Just read a few pages, and you’ll understand."
Amon’s eyes widened in alarm. ’Oh, no!’
He wanted to stop her, then wanted to snatch the notebook back. He wanted to run. But alas, he couldn’t do a single thing.
Celestia simply nodded and lowered her eyes toward the notebook. Then she began to read.
Selena remained silent with crossed hands under her chest. She occasionally glance at him, feeling slightly sad.
And with every page she turned, the expression on the Queen’s face slowly began to change.
