BOOM!!

The silver blade collided with the black arc.

The darkness split apart under the force of Arnold’s attack, scattering into fragments of shadow that dissipated into the air.

Arnold stared at Amon. "Amon, please listen!"

But Amon didn’t lower his sword. "I’m not angry because you sent me there."

His voice was filled with fury. "I’m angry because you knew something was going to happen!"

Arnold’s expression stiffened.

Amon’s eyes burned with anger. "You knew something was going to happen in Mistvale Town!"

He stepped forward.

"You knew all those people were going to die!"

His voice grew louder.

"All those people..."

His grip trembled around the sword.

"All those children..."

The memories flashed through his mind, where all the children in orphanage were dead. All the people of the town and even his seniors, all died, leaving him and Selena alone.

Blood, destruction and lastly the death.

Amon’s expression became even colder.

"And yet..."

He stared directly into Arnold’s eyes.

"You still let it happen?"

Arnold’s face immediately changed.

"No!"

He shook his head firmly.

"I didn’t know!"

His voice carried genuine panic.

"The System simply told me to send you there instead of going myself!"

He took a breath.

"I didn’t know about the attack!"

Arnold’s silver eyes trembled.

"It told me to throw you into that place only after the attack had already happened!"

Amon’s sword remained raised. For a moment, neither of them moved. The forest fell silent once again.

Amon stared at Arnold. His anger hadn’t disappeared.

Not even close, but now there was something else mixed within it.

Confusion, because if Arnold was telling the truth. Then perhaps the System had been manipulating both of them from the very beginning.

’Is this System playing with us?’

Amon fell silent for a moment. He took a deep breath and slowly exhaled, trying to calm himself down.

’Why... Why did he suddenly decide to reveal this to me? Is it because he feels guilty about what he did?’

Arnold, who had been standing in a fighting stance, gradually relaxed as well. He looked at Amon with a cautious gaze.

"Hey... Why did you decide to tell me about the System?"

Arnold sighed. "It’s the System that told me to reveal the whole truth to you."

Amon’s eyes widened. That only made him even more shocked.

’What the fuck? The System actually wanted me to know about it? Does that mean this is also part of the System’s plan?’

Amon couldn’t understand any of it. Everything had come completely out of nowhere. ’I need to learn everything from him. I need to know exactly what happened.’

While Amon was lost in thought, Arnold’s expression suddenly changed.

His eyes shifted toward the empty space in front of him, as if he were looking at something Amon couldn’t see.

Then he looked back at Amon. "Amon... The System wants to talk to you."

"You... you’re really telling the truth?"

"Yes. The System wants to talk to you."

"How? Isn’t it only visible to you?" Amon asked, narrowing his eyes suspiciously.

"Yes. But the System can make itself visible to you if it wants to."

Amon stared at Arnold for a moment before sighing.

"So... you’re doing everything it tells you to do."

"I have no choice. The things that have happened over the past few months are too dangerous. And many of them involved you."

Amon frowned. "What do you mean? What dangerous things?"

He was slightly wondering what this System might want to talk about. The things that had happened to him for last whole year were very mysterious

"Just talk to the System. You’ll know everything." Arnold said with calm gaze. He also remained polite to Amon.

"Tch. Fine. Show it to me."

The moment Amon agreed, the space in front of them suddenly distorted.

Glitch.

The air seemed to flicker for a moment, as though reality itself had malfunctioned.

Then, a golden, translucent screen appeared in midair.

And unlike before...

Amon could see it.

[Hello, Amon Vale. It’s a pleasure to talk to you for the first time.]

A mechanical voice echoed from the screen.

Amon stared at it silently.

For several seconds, he didn’t say a word.

Then his expression slowly darkened.

"Fuck you, bitch!!"

Arnold’s eyes widened.

Amon pointed his sword at the floating screen.

"How dare you greet me so calmly like nothing happened?!"

[W-What?]

The System’s usually emotionless voice actually sounded baffled.

Considering everything it had done, however, it understood that Amon’s reaction was... reasonable.

But before it could say anything else to Amon.

"You bastard!! Who created you?!"

Amon’s anger erupted. He started to talk first. No way in hell he would listen to whatever this System says.

"Why the hell are you manipulating stupid Arnold and me?! What do you want?!" He asked.

He stepped forward, his grip tightening around his sword.

"Are you some kind of System created by a God of Creation?!"

His eyes narrowed.

"Or wait..."

Amon’s expression suddenly became serious.

"Are you the creation of some future Arnold?! Did future Arnold create you and send you back to his younger self?! So he could change the future. Become more stronger?"

He continued ranting without giving the System a chance to respond.

He didn’t stop there. His legs move forward.

Amon swung his dark sword at the golden screen.

Whoosh!

The blade passed straight through like it was air. Naturally, the System remained completely unharmed.

Even Arnold was stunned by Amon’s explosive reaction.

He had expected Amon to be suspicious.

He hadn’t expected him to immediately start insulting the System and come up with theories about future Arnold creating it.

[Hey!! Calm down! Let me talk!]

The System’s voice suddenly became much louder than before.

Amon finally stopped.

He took a deep breath and slowly lowered his sword.

"Fine. Talk... let me see what you want to say, bitchy System."

He glared at the screen.

[....Listen carefully, Amon. Do you remember everything that happened in Mistvale Town clearly?]
