Chapter 572: Julia Spencer

"Okay, I admit it..." Amon sighed. "I wouldn’t like it."

"See? I can understand you very easily."

Amon smiled. "Alright I will do it...but If you ever start hating the idea of this in the future, just tell me, okay?"

"Yes, I will. I’m not a pushover, after all." Scarlett smirked.

"Okay, then I’ll do it!"

Amon finally made up his mind. If he had Scarlett’s permission and genuinely developed feelings for someone else, then he shouldn’t keep running away from the possibility. He needed to be honest with himself and take responsibility for his choices.

Scarlett nodded in satisfaction.

Amon suddenly leaned forward and wrapped his arms tightly around her.

"Huh?"

Scarlett was momentarily surprised before wrapping her arms around him as well.

"Thanks, Scarlett! I love you the most!"

"I love you too."

She smiled as they remained in each other’s embrace for a moment.

"Now, let’s go to bed."

She gently released him from the hug, a teasing smile appearing on her lips as she began slowly undoing the buttons of his shirt.

Amon swallowed.

"I want to try a few new things tonight."

"Sure. Why not?"

---

The Next Morning

"Yawn~"

Amon walked through the main path of the academy, which led toward the central academy building.

He was finally back.

He wore a maroon T-shirt with beige trousers, while his messy black hair made it obvious that he hadn’t bothered fixing it properly.

"Okay, now it’s time to meet my friends. Where are they?"

He looked around the academy grounds.

After spotting the familiar buildings, he suddenly started running toward the main building.

---

"What should we study today?" Eliana asked as she walked through one of the academy corridors.

"Maybe mana mechanics? Or history?" Aisha suggested.

The wolf girl actually looked prepared to study rather than train for once.

"History..." Eliana nodded thoughtfully. "We’ve been avoiding it for far too long. That sounds like a good choice."

"By the way, where’s Seraphina?" Aisha asked, noticing their friend was missing.

"Oh, she’s still asleep," Eliana replied. "It’s pretty rare to see her sleeping this late, but I decided to let her rest."

The two continued walking down the corridor.

Then a familiar voice suddenly called out from behind them.

"Guys! I’m back!"

Both girls stopped.

They immediately turned around.

Standing behind them was a familiar black-haired young man with a bright smile.

"Amon!" Eliana screamed and waved at him. He ran toward then and stopped.

"How are you guys?"

"We’re fine, but you look really... very, very happy," Aisha said, raising an eyebrow suspiciously.

"Of course he is," Eliana chimed in with a teasing grin. "He just spent two whole days and nights with his lover, Scarlett."

Amon’s face immediately turned red. He rubbed the back of his head awkwardly.

"W-Well... putting that aside, where are you two going?"

"We’re heading to the library to study," Aisha replied. "We can’t neglect our studies forever."

"True. You two go ahead. I’ll meet you later."

"Oi! You’re coming with us."

Aisha grabbed his arm and gave him a mischievous smirk.

Amon immediately broke into a cold sweat at the mention of studying.

"Wait! Where’s Marcus?"

"Training, of course," Eliana answered as though it were the most obvious thing in the world.

Amon’s expression suddenly brightened.

"So... is his fiancée back at the academy?"

Eliana’s eyes widened.

Then a huge grin spread across her face.

"Dammit! I completely forgot about that!"

She grabbed Amon’s arm excitedly.

"She’s here! Come on, I’ll show you!"

"Hey, don’t run off!"

Aisha shook her head helplessly before following them.

A short while later, the three arrived at one of the academy’s training grounds.

The sound of swords clashing and spells being cast echoed throughout the large arena.

Eliana pointed toward one side of the training grounds.

"There!"

Amon followed her finger.

His eyes widened slightly.

"Oh... so that’s Marcus’s fiancée?"

A young woman with long light blue hair tied into a high ponytail was practicing swordsmanship. She moved with impressive precision, each swing of her sword sharp and controlled.

Even from a distance, Amon could tell that she had considerable skill.

"Oh my~" Amon grinned. "So that’s our future sister-in-law?"

"Yup!" Eliana nodded enthusiastically.

Aisha crossed her arms and watched the woman train.

"She’s quite talented with both weapons and magic. And she loves training hard."

Amon nodded appreciatively.

"What’s her name?"

"Julia Spencer," Eliana answered. "She’s from a Marquis family in the southern region of the kingdom."

"Julia Spencer... we said hello to her when you were not here."

Amon repeated the name, committing it to memory.

Then his grin returned.

"Let’s go greet her."

Before either girl could stop him, Amon dashed toward the training ground.

"Wait! I’m coming too!"

Eliana immediately chased after him, clearly excited to meet Julia.

Aisha sighed.

"Hey! Don’t just run off!"

She quickly followed the two of them.

Amon approached the training ground with Eliana and Aisha following behind him.

Julia was still practicing.

Her light blue color hair swayed behind her with every movement as she stepped forward and swung her sword. Her movements were clean and disciplined. She finished a combination with a horizontal slash before stopping and lowering her blade.

She exhaled.

"Again."

She raised her sword and prepared to continue.

"Excuse me!"

Julia paused.

She turned toward the voice and saw three familiar students approaching.

Her eyes immediately recognized Eliana and Aisha.

"Aisha? Eliana?"

Then her gaze shifted toward the black-haired young man standing between them.

"And..."

She looked at Amon curiously.

Eliana stepped forward with a bright smile.

"Julia! It’s been a while."

Julia smiled politely.

"It has. What brings you three here?"

Eliana pointed toward Amon.

"We came to introduce you to someone."

Amon immediately stepped forward and extended his hand.

"Hello! I’m Amon."

Julia looked at his hand for a moment before shaking it.

"Julia Spencer. Nice to meet you."

Amon smiled.

"Likewise."

He glanced at her sword.

"You’re pretty good with that."

Julia looked down at her weapon.

"Thank you. I’ve been practicing swordsmanship since I was young."

"I can tell. Your movements are really disciplined."

Amon’s compliment seemed to surprise her slightly.

"You know swordsmanship very well I guess."

"A little."

Aisha snorted.

"A little?"

Eliana laughed. "Don’t listen to him. He’s actually pretty good."

Amon scratched his cheek. "I’m still learning."

Julia studied him for a moment.

"You’re Amon, aren’t you?"

Amon blinked.

"You know me?"

"Of course. We’re students in the same academy. I’ve heard your name several times. You always around Eliana and others."

"Oh?"

Amon looked slightly embarrassed.

"Hopefully you heard only good things."

Julia smiled faintly.

"Mostly."

Aisha immediately covered her mouth, trying not to laugh.

Eliana wasn’t nearly as restrained.

"Hahaha! She already knows about you!"

Amon gave her an annoyed look.

"What’s that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing."

Julia smiled at their interaction.

"So... why did you want to meet me?"

Amon’s expression suddenly became serious.

"Well, I heard something interesting."

Julia raised an eyebrow.

"What?"

"I heard you’re Marcus’s fiancée."

Julia froze. Her face slowly turned red.

Aisha closed her eyes. "Eliana..."

Eliana was already grinning. "Got him."

Julia lowered her sword.

"I... wouldn’t exactly call it that yet."

"Really?" Amon asked curiously. "But Marcus told us that your families were discussing it."

"Yes. Our families have been discussing the possibility of an engagement."

She hesitated before adding, "But nothing has been finalized."

Amon nodded thoughtfully. "I see."

Then his face suddenly brightened. "Still, congratulations!"

Julia’s cheeks became even redder. "There isn’t anything to congratulate me about yet."

"Not yet. But if things work out, I’ll be congratulating you again."

Julia gave him an awkward smile.

"You seem very enthusiastic about this."

"Of course! Marcus is my friend. Finally he will get a lover and fiancée."

Amon cross his hands, "And I’m apparently witnessing the beginning of a romance between two youngsters from noble families."

Julia stared at him. "Is that what you’re interested in?"

"Absolutely."

Aisha sighed.

"Don’t encourage him."

Eliana laughed. "He loves gossip when it involves his friends."

Amon pointed at Eliana. "Hey! It’s not gossip. It’s important information."

Julia couldn’t help but laugh.

"You’re quite different from what I expected. It’s surprising that Marcus became your friend. The only man he is friend with is you."

Amon looked curious.

"I know that... but what did you expect for me to be like?"

"Someone more serious since you are Marcus’s friend."

Aisha immediately laughed. "Then you definitely got the wrong impression."

"Hey!"

Julia covered her mouth, hiding a small smile. "Well, I also heard few things about you from Marcus."

Amon’s eyes widened.

"Really? What did he say?"

Julia hesitated.

"Mostly that you’re little weird but okay guy. Better than others."

Amon’s jaw dropped.

"That bastard! I am definitely better than others!! But I am not weird!! "

Eliana burst out laughing. Aisha shook her head.

"He isn’t wrong."

Amon looked at Julia with an exaggeratedly offended expression.

"Don’t believe everything Marcus says. He’s just jealous because I’m more handsome."

Julia raised an eyebrow.

"Is that so?"

"Absolutely."

Eliana leaned toward Aisha.

"His ego has already returned."

Aisha nodded.

"Unfortunately."

Julia smiled again.

"So, Amon, what do you think of Marcus?"

"Hmm?"

"As a friend."

Amon thought for a moment.

"He’s a good guy. He’s serious, responsible, and usually the one who stops me from doing something stupid."

He paused.

"Though sometimes he’s too serious."

Julia nodded slowly.

"That sounds like him."

"Don’t worry about him, though. He’s actually pretty nice once you get to know him. You are very lucky!!"
