Pei Lang suddenly felt a little scared and hesitant.

However, he still answered in a careful voice.

“Yes, I’m Pei Lang.”

Hearing his answer, the man and the woman’s expressions became more amicable toward him.

“You don’t have to worry. We are followers of the Great Emperor, Aldrian the Great. Now that I see it with my own eyes, I can tell that you have great potential. It seems the cultivation method blessed by that man, Lei Batian, truly suits you,” the man said before letting out a sigh.

“To think that the Pei family has fallen to this state. I remember they were still one of the strongest families when the Great War happened.” His voice was filled with lament. The woman nodded in agreement.

Hearing that, Pei Lang’s heart trembled.

Who are these people, to know his family’s god as if they knew him personally? The man also spoke as though he had lived in the era when the Pei family still stood strong, which had been a very long time ago.

However, when Pei Lang thought about it, Aldrian had also said that he knew someone close to his family’s god.

Could these people be the ones Aldrian had mentioned?

“Anyway, we have a message for you. Whatever happens, stay inside here until the situation outside is completely under control. In the near future, a man with long black hair named Lei Junlin will come for you. You will follow him afterward. Don’t worry, you’ll be safe with him,” the woman said.

Pei Lang’s eyes widened and glimmered. Upon hearing the surname, he couldn’t help but think that this Lei Junlin was the person Aldrian had mentioned.

Pei Lang nodded. “I will stay here. Thank you for informing me.”

“Alright then, we’ll be going first—”

“I’m sorry, but do you know where Mister Aldrian is?” Pei Lang asked, cutting off the man’s words.

Both of Aldrian’s followers actually felt offended that someone would address Aldrian as though he were just a normal older man.

However, their emperor had left a message for anyone who met with Pei Lang to treat him well. He was likely the only surviving member of the Pei family, and he was under their emperor’s direct protection.

Moreover, he was still just a child.

“Ah, His Majesty, is currently somewhere far from this place, taking care of some business. Perhaps you’ll be able to meet him after all of this is over,” the woman replied.

Pei Lang let out a breath and nodded.

“I see. Thank you for the information.”

The woman couldn’t help but smile as she gently patted Pei Lang’s head.

“Rebuild your family into a great family once again in the future. You will face many great challenges ahead, especially under that guy. He is quite a strict person. But once you overcome all the tribulations that come your way, you will grow into a great cultivator.”

Pei Lang’s heart was touched, and his spirit soared. His eyes glimmered as he nodded.

“I will, miss.”

The two followers of Aldrian then left Pei Lang to continue their mission.

In Rudraf City, the city also faced the same situation as the resistance group had already taken control. They quickly secured the city with the help of a group of Aldrian’s followers before moving on to another city to support the resistance group there.

The succubi and incubi, who usually showed their sensual side, were now displaying just how dangerous they were in battle. They had already killed many people who refused to surrender to the resistance group, using their succubus and incubus techniques.

Because of the slave seals, they could not attack members of the Remivas family, but they could still attack everyone else. As for the Remivas family, they were left to the other resistance groups and Aldrian’s followers from the Higher Heavens.

The Remivas family’s mansion was already completely in ruins, and all of the main family members had been killed.

In the distance, the temple had also been destroyed, with many corpses scattered across the ground.

On top of one of the tall buildings, five succubi stood as they looked over the city that had already fallen into their hands. They couldn’t help but wear touched expressions.

This was something they had been waiting for. They were finally free, and they had rid themselves of the oppressors who had made their race suffer for so long. They would no longer have to live in humiliation, and they could now live however they wanted.

“To think we could finally be free within our lifetime… it’s like a dream come true,” one of the succubi with long black hair said.

“Yes, and it’s truly satisfying that I got to kill someone from the temple. Ugh, just imagining their faces already makes me angry,” the blonde-haired one said.

Elris remained silent as she listened to her sisters. While she continued to gaze at the city’s scenery, another succubus appeared behind them. It was Mei Zhilan.

“My Lady, the western side of the city is now completely under control after a thorough inspection,” she said to Elris.

Elris nodded.

“Good. Now we can confirm that this city has completely fallen under the resistance group’s control. We need to maintain order here until everything is settled,” she said without turning her head.

In Volsk City, the city bordering the Falling Star Forest, the sight was much different from the other cities that had already fallen under the resistance group’s control.

Many spiritual beasts were spread throughout the city, from giant tigers and wolves to humongous white-winged eagles and Great Pengs. There were many other kinds as well.

The spirits flew here and there, patrolling for any remaining enemies who might still be hiding among the common people. Signs of battle could be seen throughout the city, showing that fighting had taken place not long ago.

Unfortunately, some of the common people had become victims after being caught in the battle.

The resistance group was still trying to calm the many people who feared for their fate now that the city had fallen into the resistance group’s hands.

There were also some people who openly showed hostility toward the resistance group after seeing many of their friends killed for refusing to surrender or caught in the battle.

“You savage bastards! Let’s see if you can still be so arrogant when the City Lord and all the powerhouses of the noble families come back. You only dared to attack this place while they were away!” one of the commoners shouted at one of the spiritual beasts in human form.

He did not possess strong cultivation, but his fury overcame his fear.

“Stop it, Rick! You could really die!” one of his friends said as he grabbed him, trying to stop him from doing something even more foolish, but the man seemed completely undeterred.

“Let me go! They killed our friends, and we’re just supposed to accept it? There’s no way I can do that! Let those beasts know they made a huge mistake by attacking us! They should stay inside that forest and hide like the cowards they are!” he shouted.

The spiritual beast that had become the target of his fury was a giant silver-horned bull in human form with cultivation at Immortal Overlord Stage.

The beast, in his male human form, merely stood there and observed the crowd without saying anything, completely ignoring the man’s curses.

Although he felt pissed at being cursed by a weakling, he chose to ignore him. This was also one of the ancestor’s strict orders: not to blindly kill anyone unless they were attacked first.

They were trying to gain the sympathy of the masses, so they had to show themselves as beings who were not bloodthirsty.

Scenes like the one involving this spiritual beast were common throughout the city.

Because the people had lived normal lives for so long without many problems, and had always been fed the idea that the resistance group were villains, the moment something like this happened, they naturally believed that the resistance group truly were the bad guys.

The city had fallen into the hands of the villains, and their lives would become miserable.

As the city came fully under the resistance group’s control, at the destroyed temple located within the city, Rafen Greendew, the ancestor of the Celestial Mountain Spirits, stood while looking over the ruined temple complex.

The sight truly gave him a satisfaction he had not felt in a very long time. Seeing Avergis’ statue destroyed filled his heart with joy, although he did not show it outwardly.

As he continued looking at the destroyed temple, Ursan Greendew, the Tribe Lord of the Celestial Mountain Spirits, approached from behind.

“Ancestor, we have already secured the entire city. There are no surviving members of the temple, and all of the enemies have either been killed or surrendered,” he said respectfully.

Rafen nodded before turning around and walking away.

“Let’s head to the next city according to the plan. There are still many things to do,” he said.

Ursan said nothing and simply followed behind the ancestor.

While the various territories across the Second Heaven had already fallen under the resistance group’s control, the reports quickly reached the factions involved in the total war.

On the battlefields within Tarius’ followers’ territories, where the war was still ongoing, many people were utterly shocked by the urgent messages they received.
