The Shining Star Above The Heaven

Chapter 1313: Another Gathering

  • Next Chapter

At this moment, while the Second Heaven was experiencing another upheaval, something tense was unfolding in the Highest Heaven.

As one of the Alliance’s Main Masters of the Universe, Tarius called for a gathering of the other ten Main Masters of the Universe to discuss the grim matter.

It was said that this gathering was meant to decide the issue regarding Avergis, whom Tarius had accused of helping the rebels all this time.

Seeing the severity of the matter, nine shadowy figures gathered within a special white realm. This was the same space where all of them had gathered the last time to discuss the matter of Aldrian.

This time, instead of ten figures, one figure did not appear, and it was the one many considered to be their leader.

Avergis’ shadowy figure silently looked at Tarius. All of them had just arrived, and the gathering had not begun yet.

However, despite the silence, the others could clearly sense the hostility between Tarius and Avergis.

In fact, the entire atmosphere was tense and awkward, as three factions were present in this place: those supporting Tarius, those supporting Avergis, and those who chose to remain neutral.

All of them had their own agendas, and those who chose to support either side shared the same goal. They wanted to get rid of one of the gods so that the distribution of their benefits would become much larger for themselves.

After all, the fewer gods there were, the more they would gain.

Avergis looked at Tarius with a calm gaze, but deep inside, he was truly fuming. He wanted to shred Tarius to pieces for accusing him of something he had never done.

The accusation of working with the rebels was no small matter. It was the gravest accusation within their Alliance, something that could even endanger his life, as he could become the target of every god.

The threat was immense. He could be attacked from all sides, and even his own universe could be destroyed.

That was why accusing someone of working with the rebels was not something that could be thrown around lightly.

If someone accused another without solid proof, or if it was discovered that the evidence had been fabricated to frame the accused, then the accuser would instead be the one to receive punishment.

That was because the accuser had already created a situation that could endanger the Alliance’s greater mission. They had spread doubt among their own allies simply to gain personal benefits.

‘What the fuck is Tarius thinking? Why did he suddenly accuse me of working with the rebels? He should know that accusing a member of the Alliance of treason is something that could endanger his own life if he makes such an accusation without proof.’ Avergis thought as he stared at Tarius.

‘I’m not working with the rebels, and he should know that. Even if he intends to go as far as fabricating evidence, he should know it’s useless. The others will eventually discover the truth, and in the end, he’ll be the one who dies. So why is he doing this? Is there something I don’t know?’

After a few moments of silence, a male voice from one of the shadowy figures resounded.

“Alright, let’s begin this emergency gathering. With the Leader absent, this gathering will be led by me,” one of the figures said as he looked at Tarius and Avergis.

“Now, Tarius, you declared your right to convene this meeting because you accused Avergis of treason. You know this is a serious matter right? Your own life is at stake if you cannot prove your accusation.”

“Of course I know that,” Tarius replied calmly. “The very fact that I dared to call this meeting means I’m confident in what I’ve found. Later, all of you can judge for yourselves whether my evidence is true or false.”

As he spoke, Tarius looked at Avergis with a faint smirk.

Avergis narrowed his eyes. For some reason, the bad feeling in his heart only grew stronger.

“I have to say, you must have gone crazy. How could you accuse me of something I never did? Your accusation itself has a fatal flaw when directed at someone like me. What benefit do I gain by working with those rebels? Why would I help the side that is so obviously destined to lose?” Avergis said in a contemptuous tone.

“I know you’ve already lost many of your followers and the First Heaven. You’ll also lose your followers in the Second Heaven because of our current situation. But isn’t this going too far? Accusing me of treason? Just how much do you hate me to harm yourself like this?”

Tarius remained silent, only wearing a smirk.

“Is that so? Well, you’d have a good point if your followers hadn’t killed my followers in the first place, and if you hadn’t fooled me by sending your apostle into my territory, leading us to this point. I don’t want to hear such words from someone who broke the covenant that all of us agreed upon. What value do your words have when you yourself are a person without integrity?”

Hearing those jabbing words, Avergis gritted his teeth before letting out a cold snort.

“Whatever. Let’s see what you have to say. You’ll regret messing with me by throwing this treason accusation at me.”

Tarius said nothing and merely smiled.

The figure leading the gathering then spoke.

“Tarius, you are the one who accused Avergis of treason, so you will be the first to present your evidence. If you cannot provide us with convincing evidence, you will face severe consequences.”

“Of course.”

Tarius nodded before continuing.

“Without further ado, let’s take a look at what I found. As all of you already know, the Northern Emperor has returned to me, right? She brought back something rather interesting—something all of you should see.”

However, just as he was about to present the evidence—

“Wait! I can sense my connection at near central region of heaven breaking—shit! That mysterious man… that dangerous singularity must be near the central region of heaven! The Second Heaven has been invaded by the rebels! They’re launching attacks all across the Second Heaven!” Avergis shouted urgently.

Hearing that, the others were startled, but Tarius quickly chimed in.

“What are you talking about? The rebels invaded the Second Heaven? How could they when their forces are already weakened? Are you saying this because you want to get out of—”

“This is not the time for this, you bastard!” Avergis cut him off. “Just look at the Second Heaven yourselves! All of you! I’ll let you see it.”

His voice rose with every word, becoming more urgent.

Seeing that Avergis truly seemed serious, the others finally turned their attention toward the Second Heaven.

The moment they witnessed what was happening there, they were astonished.

Thousands of portals that they instantly recognized as Ascension Portals had appeared across the Second Heaven. They immediately knew these portals connected to the First Heaven, and from each of them, thousands of cultivators emerged.

What shocked them even more was that they recognized many of those cultivators.

They were the very people who had participated in the great war before suddenly disappearing without a trace.

To think that they had been hiding in the First Heaven all this time!

They instantly realized that all of this must have been part of a plan the rebels had prepared for a very long time!

“Damn it! To think they would dare attack the Second Heaven at a time like this. Aren’t they afraid of our reinforcements? No matter how strong they are, they’ll still be overwhelmed by our power. Our forces are far stronger than they were during the Great War, while theirs are much weaker than they were back then.”

One of the male figures spoke in bewilderment.

“No, there is one factor that gave them the confidence to do this,” the leader of the gathering said.

“That singularity is the greatest factor that made the rebels dare launch this invasion.”

His words caused everyone to fall silent.

“Who the hell is he, really? Does he think he can face the waves of reinforcements from the Higher Heavens all by himself? He’s far too arrogant if he truly thinks that!” a woman’s voice resounded.

“I can’t help but remember a legend I heard back when the Great War was still raging. Didn’t we hear about an existence said to be the true ruler of this universe? The one the Leader claimed to be far stronger than any Master of the Universe even the Heavenly Demon? The first being said to know the secret of reaching the higher realm?” another male figure voiced his thoughts.

“That figure was one of the primary targets because of the secret to reaching the higher realm. However, we gradually forgot about that legend because we couldn’t find even the slightest trace of such an existence.”

“We even began to doubt whether it truly existed, since not even the Leader knew where this being might be. In the end, we pushed the matter to the back of our minds and continued carrying out our plan to occupy this entire universe.”

He paused for a brief moment before asking,

“Could this singularity be that figure?”

Another silence descended upon the gathering, but it was soon broken by Avergis’ voice.

“Whether this singularity is that figure or not, we must stop him now! I’m afraid that if we let him be, we’ll lose the Second Heaven as well, and everything we’ve done will have been in vain,” Avergis said furiously.

“Avergis is right. Our priority now is to prevent the Second Heaven from ending up like the First Heaven. We cannot afford to lose another heaven,” the leader of the gathering said in a firm voice.

“We need to weaken the Heavenly Laws of the Second Heaven as much as possible in the shortest amount of time. Avergis, to make sure this matter is resolved, you must descend with your avatar.”

Hearing that, Avergis’ eyes gleamed, and a smirk spread across his face.

“That is exactly what I wanted to do.”
