The Rogue Villager Chen Erbao

Chapter 413: Celestial Harmony Commerce Association

Before Chen Erbao could say anything, the other driver had already pushed open his car door and was walking toward him.

A dark look flashed in Chen Erbao’s eyes.

“Buddy, don’t you know to keep a safe distance when driving? You almost scraped my car. Could you even afford to pay for the damages?”

The young man walked up to the car window, glanced at Chen Erbao, and spoke with extreme arrogance.

Chen Erbao’s face was devoid of expression as he said,

“You fucking cut me off twice, and you have the gall to yell at me?”

The young man’s face darkened at his words, but his gaze wasn’t on Chen Erbao. Instead, he was shamelessly checking out Lin Zhiqing in the passenger seat.

“Kid, do you know who I am? How dare you speak to me like that?”

Chen Erbao let out a cold laugh, unbuckled his seatbelt, and pushed the door open, striding toward the young man.

“Who are you?”

“I’m—”

SMACK!

The young man hadn’t even finished his sentence before Chen Erbao lifted a hand and slapped him. The force of the blow sent him spinning around twice before he collapsed onto the ground.

The woman in the Porsche’s passenger seat must have heard the commotion. She quickly got out of the car and ran over with a cry of alarm.

Lin Zhiqing glanced helplessly at the dazed young man on the ground, then got out of the car as well, her face a mask of resignation.

‘Why did you have to go and provoke him?’

As soon as the two started fighting, the surrounding drivers slowed to a stop, rolling down their windows to watch the spectacle.

‘Who wouldn’t watch a good show?’

The young man’s female companion crouched beside him and helped him up.

He was only just coming to his senses. Wiping the blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, his face was a mixture of shock and fury.

“You fucking dare to hit me?”

Chen Erbao was filled with rage. He lunged forward and kicked the young man again, sending him flying into the air and crashing against the Porsche.

“Ah—!”

The woman screamed, her face pale with fright.

“I’m the one hitting you, Cao Nima!”

Chen Erbao was about to rush forward and hit him again, but Lin Zhiqing grabbed him just in time.

“Er Bao…”

The surrounding passersby all took out their phones to record, and some secretly called the Patrol. The already narrow street was quickly blocked.

At the intersection, Patrol officers in uniform saw the blocked road and started heading over.

Chen Erbao rubbed his wrist, undid the top button of his collar, and sneered at the young man.

“Kid, now tell me, who are you?”

‘I held back just now. Otherwise, a single slap could have killed him.’

The young man was hunched over on the ground, glaring at Chen Erbao with eyes full of hatred. He then pulled out his phone and started making a call.

Chen Erbao sighed and said to Lin Zhiqing,

“You should call your second uncle… This bastard is just wasting time.”

Lin Zhiqing nodded, took out her own phone, and called Lin Cheng.

“Don’t you go anywhere! If you’ve got the guts, you’ll stay right here!”

After finishing his call, the young man, supported by his companion, clutched his chest and struggled to his feet. He leaned against his Porsche, gasping for breath.

Chen Erbao spat on the ground and looked at the young man with contempt.

“If we weren’t in the city, I would’ve crippled you already!”

“You…”

The young man wanted to retort with another threat, but when he saw the vicious look in Chen Erbao’s eyes, he opened his mouth, then swallowed his words.

‘He’s afraid he’ll get hit again. He’ll wait for his people to arrive before saying anything else. A wise man knows when to pick his battles.’

“If you don’t have the balls, then don’t act tough!”

After that warning, Chen Erbao pulled Lin Zhiqing back into their car to wait for the Patrol to handle the situation.

‘There’s no way we can leave now. We have to at least wait for the Patrol to sort this out.’

“Don’t worry, my second uncle will be here soon,” Lin Zhiqing said reassuringly.

In fact, Medicine King Hall was just past the intersection. This was the last traffic light before they got there.

This basically happened right on Medicine King Hall’s doorstep.

The Patrol soon arrived at the scene. After a quick look around, a few uniformed officers walked up to the young man and began questioning him.

As the young man spoke, he gestured venomously in Chen Erbao’s direction, and the Patrol officers’ gazes followed.

The Patrol officers quickly headed toward Chen Erbao.

Chen Erbao lowered his window.

“Sir, please step out of the vehicle and cooperate with our investigation.”

The Patrol officers were sharp. They glanced at Chen Erbao’s Land Rover and then at the young man’s Porsche and knew this wasn’t going to be an easy situation to resolve, especially since a fight had broken out.

When Chen Erbao got out of the car, an officer began to question him.

“Sir, the gentleman over there has accused you of assault. Is this true?”

The Patrol officer’s questioning was quite polite.

Before Chen Erbao could answer, Lin Zhiqing spoke up.

“I’m Lin Zhiqing of Medicine King Hall…”

Lin Zhiqing briefly explained what happened, and the Patrol officers’ expressions changed.

The moment they heard the three words “Medicine King Hall,” they knew how they should handle this incident.

After all, Medicine King Hall was a top-tier multinational conglomerate. Anyone associated with it was definitely not a simple character. This matter was already beyond their authority.

The officers exchanged a look, preparing to call and report the situation.

The young man had also heard Lin Zhiqing. A flash of surprise appeared in his eyes but quickly vanished, replaced by an even more sinister expression.

“Medicine King Hall? What a big name! I’m the son of the vice president of the Celestial Harmony Commerce Association!”

HISS…

The Patrol officers were about to start clearing the road, but when they heard “Celestial Harmony Commerce Association,” they sucked in a sharp breath and stared in shock.

They quickly recovered, and several officers surrounded Chen Erbao while others began to disperse the crowd.

Lin Zhiqing was also completely stunned.

Seeing everyone’s reaction, Chen Erbao knew this Celestial Harmony Commerce Association must be a big deal.

‘But I’m not afraid. I’m already prepared to take on the Huang Family, so why would I be scared of some bullshit commerce association?’

Lin Zhiqing knew Chen Erbao wasn’t familiar with it, so she leaned in and whispered in his ear,

“Er Bao, the Celestial Harmony Commerce Association is no small matter. It’s the most influential commerce association across the three provinces of Jiangnan, Binhai, and Zhejiang. Many famous enterprises from these provinces are members, and its influence radiates throughout the entire eastern region. Plus, it’s one of the three major commerce associations in the country.”

Chen Erbao had heard of the three major commerce associations, but he wasn’t clear on their names.

The Beijing Business Circle, centered around the Capital City; the Binhai Business Circle, centered around Binhai; and the business circle around Yue City. These three associations represented the most developed regions in the country, competing with one another and even holding sway over the national economy.

Lin Zhiqing clearly knew more, continuing,

“The Huang Family you’re planning to deal with is a leading enterprise within this association.”

Chen Erbao was very surprised to hear this. He had been planning to go to Binhai to confront the Huang Family, but he hadn’t expected to run into them ahead of time. What an unexpected turn of events!

‘But this is good too. I can test the waters ahead of time!’

“If I go after the Huang Family, will the Celestial Harmony Commerce Association get involved?” Chen Erbao asked.

“Er Bao, a commerce association isn’t a single company. It’s an organization formed by local businesses banding together. They compete with each other too. They only unite when dealing with outside enterprises. If you go after the Huang Family, as long as you don’t harm everyone’s interests, the Celestial Harmony Commerce Association won’t interfere. However, the Huang Family has a lot of power in the association, so other factions might step in to help them.”

Lin Zhiqing paused for a moment before continuing,

“The Zhao Family of Jiangnan Province is also a member of the Celestial Harmony Commerce Association.”
