The Rise of the Iron Wall!
Chapter 710: Shinigami Awaiting in the Next Game!
Bayern Munich.
The most successful team in Germany with so many trophies on their shelf. The most outrageous one? Of course, it was the fact that they had just won the last six Bundesliga competitions, sweeping all the teams here mercilessly.
It was also the end point for almost all the German players in this country. There was a saying that you were not an elite German player yet if you hadn’t attracted Bayern Munich’s interest.
From Miroslav Klose to Lucas Podolski in the past, then Manuel Neuer, Mario Götze, Robert Lewandowski, and Alexander Nubel for the latest one, it seemed that they specialized in recruiting their enemies, weakening them as well in the process. It was definitely a fine strategy, as they always managed to get the best talent in this country.
For anyone else in the country, Bayern Munich was definitely the Shinigami here, as the mere mention of their club’s name was enough to make the rest of the league tremble. Schalke was also the same, as the thought of having to play against the leader here wiped away all the happiness from having two wins in a row earlier.
It wasn’t just because they didn’t have any hope. No, even if they were losing, that would still be okay, since they had been suffering a lot of defeats this season. Just one more, especially against the best one, wouldn’t really hurt them that much.
The problem with Bayern, though, was that they always liked to defeat their opponent in the most humiliating way.
Just in this season, they had already had 10 games where they scored 3 goals or more in every single one of them. It was so crazy considering that they were still in the middle of the season, having only played 17 games so far. That meant more than 50 percent of their game ended up with them having a party, destroying their opponent completely.
This was enough to demoralize anyone who fought against them, and for Schalke, which had just regained confidence in their defense after getting two clean sheets in a row, Bayern was definitely the worst opponent they could face right now.
"Damn! When things start to go well..." Suat Serdar scowled, kicking the door of the locker room.
"If anything breaks, you will have to pay with your own money, Suat." Frohling reminded sternly. "Anyway, the game will still be a week later, so don’t think too much about it. Let’s go back first and enjoy being out of the relegation zone for now, because things could go in the worst direction after this."
Higo couldn’t help but wince unconsciously when he heard that. Even the head coach himself admitted that the team didn’t have a chance against Bayern, so how could they survive in that game?
Even though the boy was always confident in his ability, he knew that if his defensive line couldn’t bear the pressure from the opponent, his effort would be so useless. This reminded him of his first time playing against Sapporo Otani, where all of his teammates were trembling first before they even fought on the pitch, turning everything into chaos.
’Damn, even right here in Germany, I can still feel this helpless feeling of having to fight against a behemoth, huh?’ He sighed, leaning his body back against the seat helplessly.
Of course, even though Higo could see the horror named Bayern Munich just by looking at their games this season, he still couldn’t understand why they could be this good. In terms of tactical understanding, the boy was just a layman who could only nod quietly while his head was spinning madly, not knowing everything other than the fact that Bayern Munich was good.
So, to help him understand this matter better, of course the boy would call his lovely girlfriend for help.
"Bayern Munich, huh? Your coach is right, you are doomed. Not a single team in Germany is a match for them. In fact, I think everyone agreed that even for a team like Barcelona or Real Madrid, Bayern is still going to be a little bit too much to handle."
Higo sighed helplessly at the teasing tone in his girl’s voice. "I called you here to ask for advice, not gloating over my misfortune, you know?"
Kumiko giggled merrily at his answer. "Oh, well, what kind of advice do you want? Don’t ask for something unrealistic like how to win the game, okay? Your team is not capable enough to pull off that miracle."
In return, the boy just felt the corner of his lips twitching madly, inwardly grumbling, ’You sure don’t have trust in your boyfriend’s team, huh?’
Of course, that was just a joke. However, the boy still took this little interaction seriously, highlighting the fact that Kumiko even said that his team didn’t stand a chance. This was the first time he had ever heard her saying something this pessimistic, as even in their time in Hakodate Nishi, not a single team in the country was enough to make the girl this helpless.
"Honestly, I don’t expect too much here, and I know that I will probably lose some goals in the next game. I just want to ask, is there a way for me to handle some of their attacks? I mean, there should be a pattern that could be noticed, right?" Asked the boy.
Silence followed for a moment as the girl probably pondered on the other side of the call. Higo waited patiently until he finally heard her voice again.
"Okay, wait for a moment. I will compile the data and send it to you tomorrow morning. Still, don’t hope too much, okay? They are not the kind of team that anyone can beat just with ’data’, if you know what I mean."
Right after that, the call was getting cut off by Kumiko, and without even looking at her, Higo knew that she must have started working right now. Staring at his phone one more time, the boy finally let out one last sigh, his gaze wandering far to the sky.
’Bayern Munich, huh? This should be my first ever game against a world-class team... I wonder how it would go...’
