Miss Selena smiled and asked, "So what’s the matter this time? Why are you two coming to see me?"

I nodded and said, "Ah, about that, Miss Selena. We’re planning to go to the tower for floor 4, and we plan to directly continue the tower by taking one day of rest."

She looked at both of us, studied us, and nodded. "Hm. So you two finally felt that you can no longer get much improvement by simply training at the academy."

We nodded.

I smiled and replied, "It’s like this. I can spend now because I won’t stay at the academy for long, and when I gather all my points and go to buy something good I can say I only have this much and haggle it to this price."

I grinned.

He looked at me with an open mouth. "You kid are something else."

"Okay, go and have your training. Don’t stay here. You are way too dangerous to stay close."

Nyx laughed at that and went to the training room.

I just followed her, muttering, "A blind man can’t even see my greatness."

Then we saw the familiar training room and all the training equipment. Before anything, I looked at my status panel.

Hmm. Not bad, but I need to improve myself way more than this. So I took out my two swords, looked at a dummy, and tried an attack on it.

Then I used black flame on both swords and attacked the training dummy and got the feel of the swords and tried out many different types of attacks.

And then Nyx came to my side and unsheathed her sword as well.

She looked at me and told me, "Come at me."

I looked at her taking a stance. I grinned and walked toward her. "Oh yes, I come. What is it? Another kiss or something?"

She looked at me, dumbfounded, and her face went red and got a little flustered.

"You... you... are impossible."

Then I laughed at that. "Ah, when you get embarrassed it’s so cute. I can’t resist teasing you."

She got more embarrassed, raised her sword, and attacked me with the handle of the sword. "You shut up."

I managed to avoid it, and we began to spar with each other. Her attacks were a little awkward and forceful at first, but then after a few exchanges she regained her usual calm sword play.

I used both of my swords with intense focus, and we exchanged lots of blows in which she used her one sword to block my both swords, and when she missed she immediately got some distance.

I need to make my both swords work in rhythm.

If not, one sword always falls behind and ruins my attack, so I used intense focus on this.

Then she began to use her element, and I realized both swords are good to fight against many, but against one person one sword is the better choice for me. I don’t know about others.

Then I switched to one sword and began to attack her and made flame and darkness to attack her. She avoids them pretty easily.

I expected that from her. That’s a part of my plan, and I attack at the position she avoids from my attack.

But I also know she expects this as well. She is no fool, so I made a little surprise for her in the end.

When she blocks my blow I used a little force and made a dark vine behind her as a barrier.

She lost her footing and dropped to the ground.

I clenched my fist. "Yes, it worked."

Nyx, who dropped to the floor, got up clenching a fist. "Did it, Asher?"

I looked at her and gulped. "Hey, Nyx, don’t go to violence. We are civilized people. It’s a combat tactic. You understand, right?"

Then I asked again. "Right...?"

She looked at me with twitching eyes. "You..."

Then she took a deep breath and calmed herself. She is the one who fell into my trap, so she decided to back down. "Fine. I’ll let you go this time. Humph." She snorted.

Then she retaken her position in combat and waited for me, so when I took mine as well she began to attack. The first few attacks were a little aggressive, but soon she went back to her normal way of sword play.

She isn’t a petty person who holds one thing over and ruins everything.

That’s why I can tease her without worrying about anything, but I always keep my limits. Just because she is understanding doesn’t mean I can just exploit it. I have to cherish it and make her feel I’m not exploiting her weakness.

It’s not a weakness, but if I try to exploit that it becomes a weakness, so I have to maintain a clear boundary.

Then our training lasted until night time. We got two portions of lunch and ate at lunch time, but now we are exhausted and extremely hungry.

I suggested, "How about we stop here and go take a shower and go eat dinner? My stomach is basically killing me."

She nodded. "That’s a good idea."

Then we both stored our swords in space storage and went toward our rooms.

I waved goodbye and told her to come as soon as she was ready. I’m waiting for her outside my room.

She nodded and went to her room.

So I immediately went and took a shower, put on new clothes, and went to stay at Nyx’s door.

After a few moments she finally came out, and our blue eyes met each other, and I nodded.

And we walked toward the cafeteria. "So you pay, right?"

She looked at me with usual speechlessness. "Didn’t you say you spent your merit and were going to bargain at the price?"

I nodded and said, "That’s true, but I’m getting used to you being my meal ticket, so can you?"

I looked at her with expectation.

She just sighed and said, "Fine."

I showed her a bright smile, and we went to the cafeteria and ate until I got full, and we went for a small walk and I bought stuff for the tower.

Like food and other stuff. Nyx too bought them and stored them. After all, we are going toward the tower tomorrow.

And after a long exhausting day we finally came to our rooms, and I looked at her and walked toward her and kissed her on her cheek. I can’t go to the lips yet.

I’m not being a coward. I’m respecting her wishes, I told myself over and over.

Then I looked at her and said, "Good night. Have nice dreams about me."

Then I returned to my room with a calm pace.

She stayed frozen to the spot for a few moments, and she finally mumbled, "Good night, Asher."

I went to my room and got a little flustered. After all, this is the first time I took the initiative to kiss someone, even if it’s the face.

Before I met Nyx I didn’t even talk to girls.

So after that I directly went to sleep.

And from all the exhaustion from today I fell into a deep sleep and slept like a log until the morning.

As soon as morning came I got ready. Today is the day we have to face the fourth floor.

Then I went to see Nyx, but I saw she was staying at my door, so I smiled at her and greeted her.

"Good morning, Nyx."

She greeted me back.

"Good morning, Asher."

"Let’s go to the cafeteria and then to the tower."

She nodded, and we both walked toward the cafeteria. I brought up the tasks the tower had given us until now and told her I hope at least this time the mission is a little more changed and things will be a little more interesting.
