With the Virus Drake King dead, the remaining bosses arrived one after another.

Han Wu’s four avatars continued to employ the shield wall strategy against them. Through action alone, he showed the bosses that as long as they wanted to ram into shields, there would always be more shields waiting for them.

The shockwaves alone were somewhat useful against a small number of bosses, but their effectiveness diminished against a large group.

Han Wu seized the opportunity to extract everything Sacrifice had produced during the fight with the Virus Drake King. Over ninety percent of the resulting units were locusts. He merged them all into Microcosm locusts and placed them at the portals. He then merged the remaining units and placed them near himself.

After the merging process, Han Wu finally produced another powerful unit: the Machinedrasprite.

[Machinedrasprite: Microcosm life form. Attack type: Turbo Claw and Infinity Arm (multi-target). Attack range: 100. Damage: 5,000. Attack interval: 2 seconds. Skill: Infinity Cannon. Charge for 10 seconds, then unleash an energy blast that deals ten times its base damage to all creatures in range.]

Han Wu stationed the Machinedrasprite right beside himself. The moment it appeared, it opened fire on the approaching bosses. Its Infinity Cannon dealt a devastating 50,000 damage and obliterated everything within a hundred-unit radius.

Some of the bosses had already been worn down after breaking through the shields and were running on fumes. That blast killed them on the spot.

Han Wu collected even more Sacrifice rewards.

As the rewards piled up, the powerful units around him multiplied. Soon, the War Saint Locustmen, Yinglong, War Angels, Heavenly Dogs, Umbral Demonesses, and other powerful life forms emerged from the merging process. His fighting force grew dramatically.

Meanwhile, the ninety-five waves of invaders were steadily ground down under relentless pressure. The ordinary creatures near the portals had been wiped out long ago, and only a handful of bosses remained.

The number of bosses was finite. Each one that fell meant one fewer enemy to deal with.

When the last boss died, the exam finally reached its end. Now, two paths lay before Han Wu. The first was to end the exam, leave the civilization, and claim first place. The second was to continue into Infinite Mode, which would be even harder than what he had just survived.

He had three minutes to decide.

He checked his merged units. He had 1,200 Microcosm locusts, which equalled 1,200 Microcosms. On top of that, sixteen other Microcosm units of various types had been born, which represented sixteen high-quality Microcosms.

This kind of growth was far easier than regular cultivation. It was second only to using Stellar Plunder to rip Microcosms directly from his enemies.

Han Wu didn’t hesitate. He chose to continue into Infinite Mode to obtain even more Microcosms.

The moment he confirmed his choice, the portal leading to his territory reopened, and three more portals appeared in other directions. Now, four massive portals surrounded his territory on all sides, and the pressure increased immensely.

Han Wu wasn’t worried. Instead, he grinned. More portals represented more invaders, and more invaders equaled more Sacrifice units. More Sacrifice units meant more opportunities to merge them into Microcosms fighters. In other words, he would gain way more Microcosms with the new portals. Naturally, he had every reason to be happy.

As Han Wu was celebrating, creatures flooded out from all four portals. The instant they stepped into his territory, they caught Han Wu’s scent. It acted like a fatal lure, driving them to ignore the deadly units stationed everywhere and charge straight toward him.

Han Wu positioned his units along their paths and unleashed carnage on the invaders. Even as their comrades fell in droves, the creatures kept charging like maniacs. It was as if landing a single scratch on Han Wu would be the greatest honor of their lives.

While Han Wu was busy organizing his defense, his four avatars each took a specific role. The Sacrifice avatar extracted all the rewards from Sacrifice and sorted them by type; the Avatar Creation avatar spent Energy Points on unit draws and sorted the results; the Merge avatar combined all same-type units into higher-ranked life forms; and the Replicate avatar positioned the merged units where they could maximize their effectiveness.

All four were Han Wu. They shared one mind and coordinated effortlessly. Whenever a powerful invader appeared, the four avatars worked together to erect shields and direct the surrounding units to unleash concentrated fire.

Everything proceeded smoothly until uninvited guests arrived through the portals. They were clearly different from the regular invaders. They all wore tattered robes covered in mud and grime, which made them look like beggars who had wandered in from somewhere. However, their stats were absurdly high.

[Wandering Sorcerer: Microcosm life form. HP: 20,000,000. Movement speed: 1,000. Attack type: Mystic Arts Strike (multi-target). Attack range: 1,000. Damage: 15,000. Attack interval: 10 seconds.]

[Skill 1: Spatial Lockdown. It casts Mystic Arts to seal the surrounding space, preventing any life forms inside from escaping.]

[Skill 2: Chaos Summon. It summons powerful Elemental Spirits or Chaos Spirits to assist in combat.]

Those Wandering Sorcerers didn’t rush toward Han Wu like the other creatures. Instead, each one found an unguarded corner and used their own blood to set up an altar. Once the altars were complete, they sat inside them and began casting. Through their combined effort, Spatial Lockdown activated.

If Han Wu still had his Mesocosm powers, those spatial seals would have been nothing to him. He could have shattered them with a wave of his hand. At present, however, his only combat ability came from Replicate. His strength had been reduced to rock bottom.

That was exactly why Di Bin had invested so much time, effort, and resources into perfecting his revenge plot after learning that Imperial College would use this civilization for its exam. Everything was going according to plan.

“Begin the summoning!” Di Bin commanded from thousands of miles away as he directed the Wandering Sorcerers to activate Chaos Summon.

One after another, Elemental Spirits radiating dense elemental energy materialized inside Han Wu’s territory.

Han Wu had no idea that any of this was happening.
