The People's God: Sacrificing Trillions to Ascend
Chapter 1047 - Tallying the Spoils
The reclusive family ancestors departed one by one. Before leaving, each exchanged a few private words with the Death God King. Nobody but the Death God King knew what they said.
Han Wu was about to claim Lei Bing’s body when a gaze locked onto him. It was Long Qi, the Ancient Dragon Clan’s ancestor. He’d sensed the aura of a Great Dragon and the Defier title on Han Wu. Before leaving, he left Han Wu a mental imprint with a simple message: Come visit the Ancient Dragon Clan’s hidden realm when you’re ready.
Feeling honored, Han Wu vowed to visit once he settled his affairs.
With the Chaos Clan gone, Xu Hai and the Death God King prepared to leave. The Death God King, now aware of Han Wu’s talent for attracting trouble, pressed a black token into his hand before departing.
The Death God King would sense the moment Han Wu crushed it and could arrive almost instantly as long as it was within the Divine Civilization. If it were outside the Divine Civilization, the delay would depend on the distance.
It was a lifeline! Han Wu thanked him and tucked the token safely into his divine realm.
One last piece of business remained. When the Forest Clan met up with their ancestor Ye Feng, they told him that Han Wu had lent them 150,000 Microcosms and that they had only repaid him 100,000. A debt of 50,000 remained.
Ye Feng condensed a portion of his power into a card and asked Zhao Zihong to pass it to Han Wu.
The Forest Clan naturally gravitated toward the Life Faction due to their nature. But the Life Faction was gone. Han Wu’s close ties to the Death God King marked him as part of the Death Faction in Ye Feng’s eyes, making the ancestor slightly reluctant, but a debt was a debt.
As Han Wu was about to leave, Zhao Zihong handed him the Forest Clan’s card. Han Wu pocketed it, gathered Qin Shuang, Jing Jing, and the others, then returned to his divine realm.
Back home, he presented Lei Bing’s Lightning Jurisdiction to Qin Shuang like a trophy. Although deeply moved, an overwhelming guilt also filled her. The entire conflict with the Chaos Clan had started because of her. Her beauty had drawn Di Hong’s attention, which sparked the entire chain of events.
Han Wu waved it off. “It isn’t your fault. Di Hong crossed the line, and he paid for it. Focus on getting stronger. Once you ascend into a God King, you’ll be able to speak for yourself.”
Qin Shuang nodded firmly. Taking the Lightning Jurisdiction, she stood on her toes, kissed Han Wu on the cheek, and fled the room. Han Wu smiled as he touched his cheek.
Jing Jing watched the scene with a pang of annoyance. Then she reminded herself that Qin Shuang's lifespan could never match an undead’s, even after becoming a God King.
Han Wu’s future ultimately belonged to her. The thought calmed her down slightly. Still, she couldn’t help but worry that Qin Shuang would surpass her after mastering the Lightning Jurisdiction.
Excusing herself, she hurried back to her own divine realm. She’d collected plenty of Thunder Colossus bone fragments from the battle. Perhaps absorbing them would let her create several powerful lightning-resistant skeletons.
Once everyone left, Han Wu finally tallied his gains. He’d spent a lot of Microcosms at the auction, but using Stellar Plunder on Lei Bing had covered the cost with a small profit on top.
He planned to merge the low-quality Microcosms in his consciousness into higher-grade ones to boost their energy output. Beyond that, his haul included the Divine Time Stone, the Rulebreaker Stone, Lei Bing’s body, the Forest Clan’s card, and two pending Sacrifice rewards from killing Di Hong and Lei Bing.
It was an impressive gain. Despite being the greatest winner of the entire incident, he didn’t feel like celebrating. Every prize had been hard-won at the edge of death. If not for the Death God King and Zhao Zihong, he’d be dead.
He sighed, reminded himself to be more careful in the future, and got to work. The Divine Time Stone went into his divine realm first. Time inside hastened to twice its normal rate. One day outside now equaled two years inside. It was perfect for raising units.
Next came the Rulebreaker Stone from Gift God King Shaura. This allowed him to promote one unit to God King immediately. Several of his units had comprehended Jurisdiction embryos, but none had developed one to 100% yet.
Maybe I should wait, Han Wu thought.
Then he remembered the Dark Jurisdiction he had been saving.
The Dark Jurisdiction was a complete Jurisdiction, meaning any compatible life form could develop it to full mastery relatively quickly. Among his units, the strongest dark-attribute candidates were Black Dragon King Alpheus, the Pride Dark Tyrannosprite King, and Dark Locust.
The Umbral Mouse was the most compatible, but had no offensive capabilities.
After careful consideration, he chose Dark Locust. While it wasn’t the strongest candidate, it was both part of his core race and one of the original locusts he’d raised from the beginning. It was also his Saint.
Dark Locust had fallen behind as Han Wu grew stronger, but Han Wu had never once considered abandoning it. Dark Locust’s Self Detonation ability had been one of his most important damage-dealing methods since day one.
The decision was final. The Dark Jurisdiction and the Rulebreaker Stone would both go to the Dark Locust. Han Wu would make it the first God King in his divine realm.
