Chapter 497: Chapter 466: Plundering the Plunderers

CRACKLE POP…

With the arrival of the New Year, the sounds of firecrackers and fireworks were everywhere.

Under the night sky, the fireworks exploding overhead drew all the villagers out to watch.

Such a spectacular sight was a rare occasion.

“Happy New Year!”

The Yun family, along with Fu Mingyu, Mr. Mu, Daoist Qingfeng, and Yun Sui, all gathered to celebrate the New Year together.

The table was laden with a rich variety of food. Yun Jiao had a huge appetite and ate quite a lot all by herself.

Watching her eat so heartily, the others couldn’t help but eat a little more themselves.

“Let’s go, let’s go! Time to set off some fireworks.”

They were the long, tube-like fireworks you hold in your hand.

Everyone had a blast that night.

Afterward, they carried New Year’s gifts as they visited friends and relatives. Of course, many people came to visit their home as well.

As the youngest, Yun Jiao still received the most red envelopes every year.

Now that her older brothers were earning money, they also gave her big red envelopes.

Even Fu Mingyu gave her a large red envelope.

She wasn’t short on money, but getting red envelopes was still a joyous occasion.

“I want to be the one giving out red envelopes, too.”

She sighed, “I wonder if my big brothers have found girlfriends yet.”

Shen Yunlian chimed in, “I called and asked, but those two rascals are tight-lipped and won’t say a thing.”

It was just a passing thought for Yun Jiao.

For the New Year, everyone had returned except for Yun Chendong and Yun Chenxi, who couldn’t make it back.

But once the New Year festivities were over, everyone would go their separate ways and get back to their busy lives.

When it was time for school to start, Fu Mingyu, Yun Xiao Liu, and Yun Xiaowu left as well.

Life returned to its normal rhythm, and Yun Jiao started planning to raise pearl mother shells.

First, of course, she had to transform her sea lake into an environment the pearl mother shells would love, making sure to provide the food they liked to eat.

She wasn’t in a hurry. She planned to look for the pearl mother shells during summer break anyway.

During this time, she busied herself with it a little each day.

Thanks to her efforts, the island’s sea lake was transformed into what was almost a miniature ocean world.

However, it was mostly stocked with beautiful, small creatures.

Things like small jellyfish, mantis shrimp, some starfish, sea hares, seahorses, and so on…

A few months later, Yun Jiao couldn’t be more satisfied as she looked at her results.

She even took a photo, planning to send it to her brothers and Fu Mingyu.

Time always seems to fly when you’re busy.

In the blink of an eye, the hottest part of the year had arrived.

School was out for summer vacation.

Yun Jiao was also preparing to embark on a long journey with the killer whale.

Yun Jiao prepared a boat—a wooden one.

She loaded all the necessary daily supplies onto the boat.

“Dad, Mom, Grandpa, Grandma, you don’t have to worry. No matter where I go, there’s no one who can beat me.”

How could they not be worried? This time, there was no telling when she would be back.

After saying goodbye to her family, Yun Jiao pushed her boat out, met up with the killer whale in the sea, and began her adventure.

「Half a month later…」

Yun Jiao had already appeared in foreign waters.

Whenever she saw things she liked in the sea, like underwater gems or coral, she would pick them up and put them on her boat.

She also successfully found two types of pearl-producing mother shells.

She put them all in a net bag and brought them along with her.

Yun Jiao emerged from the sea, clutching something.

“*Phew*… Are you guys trying to get yourselves killed? You started fighting the moment you met!”

She turned and rapped the killer whale on the head.

“WHEEE WHEEE WHEEE~”

Yun Jiao rolled her eyes.

They had run into a pod of sperm whales over here.

Killer whales really aren’t popular with other whales. They started fighting as soon as they saw each other.

It was useless for her to try and break up the fight.

In the end, she managed to scoop up a large chunk of ambergris and told the killer whale to make a run for it.

Those guys wanted to keep fighting, but they only agreed to leave after Yun Jiao gave them a good thrashing.

She tossed the sizable chunk of ambergris she was holding into the boat.

The wooden boat was already cluttered with quite a few miscellaneous things.

Lying on the boat after a meal, Yun Jiao was watching the sky when she suddenly heard an unusual sound.

It was a large ship.

She sat up and peered into the distance.

When she saw the flag flying on the distant ship and the skull emblem on it, she raised an eyebrow.

Since coming to this area, she would occasionally go ashore where there were people to restock her supplies.

She had also heard some stories about this region.

Pirates.

People who plundered and robbed at sea.

‘If they’re pirates, their base must have a lot of good stuff, right?’ Yun Jiao stroked her chin, thinking.

The corners of Yun Jiao’s mouth lifted into a smile.

‘When you’re away from home, you can be whoever you want to be.’

Yun Jiao messed up her hair, disguising herself as a poor young girl who had encountered a storm at sea and was now adrift, unable to get back.

On the pirate ship over there, someone was scanning the area with a telescope and then spotted her.

And so, Yun Jiao was captured.

She had hidden everything from her boat at the bottom of the sea, so naturally, there was nothing of value on it.

A few days later, Yun Jiao was taken to the pirates’ den.

“Boss, we caught a pretty girl. Once she’s a bit older, we can take her to be auctioned.”

“Why is her hair this color? Is it natural?”

A group of pirates surrounded her, whispering amongst themselves.

“This girl is gorgeous. She’ll definitely fetch a good price at auction.”

Yun Jiao really disliked the way they were looking at her.

So, she decided she would make her move after getting a clear picture of the situation here.

However, there were still pedophilic perverts among the pirates.

Yun Jiao killed them all.

Abroad, she wasn’t naive enough to think she could use the law to protect herself.

On a night ten days later, a series of explosions rocked the pirate den.

Yun Jiao had raided the pirates’ armory. Draped in several bombs, carrying a load of guns and ammunition, and with a gun in her hand, she looked like a demoness from hell, smiling as she reaped the pirates’ lives.

After she had killed all the main leaders, as well as any idiots who rushed her without thinking…

Yun Jiao went to the underground cells, tossed in a ring of keys, and pulled out some weapons.

“Danni, Li Lin, you can leave now.”

“Take these weapons. There’s a boat on the west side of the island. If you run into any pirates, show no mercy. Otherwise, you’ll be the ones who die.”

She had also been locked in the cells earlier and had gotten to know most of the women imprisoned there.

These women were from all different countries.

There were people from Huaguo as well.

“Oh my god, this is unbelievable! Jiao, you actually wiped out the entire pirate den and even raided their armory!”

They quickly picked up the keys and opened the doors.

“These bastards! Girls, it’s our turn to fight back! To avenge our dead family and friends!”

Everyone picked up the weapons from the ground.

Then, they started to leave under Yun Jiao’s lead.

Yun Jiao said, “You guys leave first? I can’t bear to part with the treasure on this island. I can’t just let someone else get it for cheap.”

Everyone nodded. “You’re right, we can’t let them have it.”

“Let us help you move it to the boat.”

Yun Jiao shrugged nonchalantly.

When they reached the treasure hoard, the sight of all the gold coins, gold bars, and various jewels piled together was breathtaking.

Yun Jiao directly hoisted three chests heavy with gold onto her shoulders.

“I’m heading out. There’s a lot of treasure here. Take as much as you can carry.”

She wasn’t thinking of taking it all for herself, but she would definitely be taking more than two-thirds of it.

‘After all, it’s my spoils of war.’
