Chapter 493: Chapter 463: Part 2

And so, all the Huaguo people in the audience stood up, screaming their support.

Yun Xiaowu himself felt a competitive fire ignite within him.

‘Losing to athletes from other countries is one thing, but to Little Japan… Heh…’

Yun Xiaowu glanced at the swimmer from Little Japan, his eyes seeming to carry a hint of killing intent.

Once everyone was ready, they all dove into the water the instant the referee’s signal was given.

Yun Xiaowu was truly a force to be reckoned with, the kind of daredevil who would race a killer whale.

The moment he hit the water, he shot into the lead.

He was the first to reach the other side and, likewise, the first to swim back.

The moment the race ended, all the Huaguo people erupted.

This year’s Olympic Games lasted for a total of 15 days.

Yun Xiaowu won the gold medal in his swimming event.

Afterward, everyone on the swim team was cheering and celebrating.

They even went out for a special dinner.

Yun Jiao and the others held a separate celebration for Yun Xiaowu the day after the swim team’s party.

When it was time to go home, they didn’t travel back with the swim team. Instead, they stayed behind to have some fun and do a lot of shopping.

They bought plenty of skincare products, bags, and cosmetics for the women, and watches and clothes for the men.

Yun Jiao also bought some small hair accessories, planning to give them as gifts to her friends back in the village.

Yun Xiaowu and the others bought some model cars, planes, and guns.

They also attended an auction, where Yun Jiao successfully bid on some gemstones and pearls that caught her eye.

They also brought back some flower seeds, intending to see if they could grow them on the island.

Once they’d had their fill of fun, everyone finally boarded the plane back home.

The plane first flew back to the Capital.

Yun Xiaowu needed to request leave to go home.

‘Mhm, how could this not be considered returning home in glory?’

“Jiaojiao, hurry up! The train is about to leave.”

Yun Jiao: “Coming!”

She quickly grabbed her candied hawthorns and ran for the train.

In a spot she couldn’t see, a young man whipped his head around upon hearing the name “Jiaojiao.”

“Young Master, is something wrong?”

The handsome young man peered into the crowd, vaguely making out a nimble, slender figure with blue hair.

“It really is her.”

Fu Mingyu excitedly ran toward the train platform.

But the train had already started moving.

“Yun Jiao, Yun Jiao…”

Fu Mingyu’s followers were stunned. Their young master was always aloof, so calm he barely seemed human. This was the first time they had ever seen him lose his composure like this.

Yun Jiao felt like someone was calling her name and stuck her head out of the train window.

Then she saw a young man chasing after the train.

The young man’s face looked a little familiar. Yun Jiao had a great memory and instantly recalled the person who sent her photos almost every year.

“Fu Mingyu!”

Her eyes widened.

Almost simultaneously, several other heads squeezed out next to hers.

It was Yun Jiao’s brothers.

“Holy crap, it really is that kid.”

“Fu Mingyu, stop chasing the train! I’ll come find you in the Capital next time, or you can come find us in Sea City!”

Fu Mingyu watched Yun Jiao wave at him, his dark eyes exceptionally bright.

He stopped chasing and just waved in their direction.

“I will come find you.”

He had also just returned to the Capital.

He had been accepted into Qingbei University.

At seventeen, an age when most are still in high school, some extraordinarily outstanding geniuses get accepted into famous universities without needing to take an exam.

And judging by Yun Xiaowu’s performance at the Olympics, he would also receive a special admission to a prestigious university upon his return.

“Young Master, what were you chasing?”

The train was no longer visible. Fu Mingyu retracted his gaze.

“Let’s go.”

He reverted to his usual expressionless, cold demeanor, as if he wasn’t the one who had just been chasing a train.

The two bodyguards exchanged confused glances.

「On the train…」

Yun Xiaowu and the others were also discussing Fu Mingyu.

“That really was Fu Mingyu. He looks a lot taller than in his photos.”

“He and Jiaojiao have been sending each other photos all these years, but they’ve never met. Wasn’t he in Qing Province with his grandpa?”

Yun Jiao propped her chin on her hand. “I don’t know, either.”

When they got home, the moment they arrived in the village, they were greeted by a procession of people beating gongs and drums.

Yun Jiao thought someone in the village was getting married.

She never expected it was to welcome them—or to be precise, to welcome Yun Xiaowu.

“Xiao Wu, you’ve truly brought honor to our country!”

“Xiao Wu, you beat that guy from Little Japan! Well done!”

“Xiao Wu, we all saw it on TV! You swim so well.”

“Good kid! I knew you’d have a great future when you grew up!”

The village chief even cheerfully pinned a ridiculously large red flower to his chest.

Surrounded by the enthusiastic villagers, Yun Xiaowu was a bit embarrassed at first.

But that only lasted a moment. Soon, he was puffing out his chest proudly, like a big rooster.

The Yun family watched from the side, laughing.

Now, Yun Xiaowu had truly become the village celebrity.

For the next several days, he was enthusiastically pulled into various homes by the villagers for meals.

They would even gather around to watch the Olympic reruns together.

Yun Jiao joined in the excitement for a couple of days before settling down.

She went to the island to check on things.

The mother Clouded Leopard was now out hunting. The five little Clouded Leopard cubs had opened their eyes; they were chubby, fluffy little balls of fur, just adorable.

Yun Jiao found them especially endearing.

But she didn’t get too close.

Everything on the island was fine. The tail of the Chinese Sturgeon in the lake had mostly healed, so Yun Jiao scooped it up and released it back into the sea.

“Goodbye. Be careful on your own, and don’t get bitten again.”

When she returned home, Shen Yunlian was holding a letter.

“Jiaojiao, this is a letter for you from Fu Mingyu.”

Yun Jiao: “So soon?”

‘Judging by the timing, he must have mailed it before he returned to the Capital.’

Yun Jiao took it and opened it. Just as she thought.

Inside was a recent photo of him, along with an explanation for his return to the Capital.

“Mom, Fu Mingyu got accepted into Qingbei University!”

“No wonder we ran into him in the Capital. But at his age, shouldn’t he be in high school?”

Yun Jiao: “Well, what can you do? He’s brilliant. It seems he designed something that the higher-ups valued a lot, so he was directly admitted to Qingbei University. I guess you could call him a young prodigy.”
