The Ocean's Little Tyrant: A Mermaid Baby Conquers the 80s
Chapter 492: Going Abroad
Chapter 492: Chapter 463: Going Abroad
Soon, it was the day to gather for their trip abroad.
Yun Jiao’s entire family went together.
It was their first flight, so everyone was incredibly curious.
The airport wasn’t too crowded.
Once on the plane, they all looked around with curiosity.
“I can’t believe such a huge hunk of metal can actually fly.”
“Yeah, I wonder how long it’ll take to get there.”
Shen Yunlian and Wang Mei chattered excitedly, constantly looking out the window.
“Quick, Chenbei, take a few more pictures for us.”
Yun Chenbei nodded. Once they struck a pose, he snapped several photos. CLICK, CLICK.
Perhaps because their large group was making a bit too much noise, a man to the side muttered, “Country bumpkins.”
Yun Jiao glanced at him but ultimately said nothing.
‘He didn’t call us out by name, and Mom and Dad didn’t hear it. I’ll just assume he was talking about himself.’
After finishing his discussion with the coach, Yun Xiaowu came running over to them.
“Xiao Wu, hurry over here! Get your fourth brother to take your picture.”
Yun Xiaowu immediately joined them and threw up a peace sign along with everyone else.
A photo of the happy family was taken.
“Is this your first time flying?” an elderly gentleman next to them asked with a kind smile after they had finished their photos and sat down.
“A big family, are you? It’s so lively.”
His tone held a hint of envy.
Yun Linhe smiled and nodded. “That’s right. My nephew, that one there, is going to compete in the Olympics this year. We’re all going to watch him.”
“Oh, my! Now that’s bringing glory to the nation.”
“I can tell your family has a wonderful atmosphere.”
“Hehe, right? The siblings are all very close. Sir, would you like a baozi? We made them at home.”
Yun Linhe was a gifted conversationalist, and in no time, he was chatting with the strangers around them.
Soon, the plane took off, and a feeling of weightlessness washed over them.
Those sitting by the windows couldn’t help but look out.
Even those not in window seats craned their necks to get a look.
“We’re flying!”
“I wonder how high we’ll go.”
At first, they could clearly feel the plane ascending, but it gradually stabilized.
Once they were above the clouds, everyone marveled at the view below: a cloud layer that looked like a thick, even blanket of cotton.
Yun Jiao found it fascinating as well. She had never been up in the sky before.
However, after watching for a while and taking some pictures, the novelty began to wear off.
Sitting for so long, they started to get bored.
They either dozed off or gathered in small groups to chat quietly.
The flight lasted for several hours, and they sat for every one of them.
Eventually, Yun Jiao felt like her butt wasn’t even hers anymore.
They had both lunch and an afternoon meal on the plane.
By the time they landed, no one had any of the initial excitement they’d felt when they first boarded.
Yun Xiaojiu walked with her head resting on Yun Xiaowu’s back.
“I’m so tired, Fifth Brother. Our hotel is booked, right?”
Yun Xiaowu replied, “Don’t worry, the coach helped book it for all of us.”
Yun Xiaowu’s coach had a very good impression of his family. Since Yun Jiao and the others were paying for themselves, the coach just had the person booking the hotel add a few extra rooms.
As soon as they arrived at the hotel, everyone quickly washed up and went to sleep.
“I don’t get it. We didn’t even move on the plane, so how are we this tired?”
“Obviously. It’d be weirder if you weren’t tired after sitting still for that long.”
After a good night’s sleep, they woke up feeling refreshed.
Yun Xiaowu left with his coach and teammates.
Meanwhile, Yun Jiao and the rest of the family went to get something to eat.
They had to admit, the food… they really couldn’t get used to it!
But they had a master chef among them.
Yun Xiao Liu borrowed the hotel’s kitchen—for a fee, of course.
He then cooked up a table full of dishes they loved, and the aroma was so fragrant that people at other tables kept looking over.
After their meal, they went out to explore, experience the local customs, and visit the city’s unique architectural landmarks.
「On the day of the Olympic opening ceremony.」
Yun Jiao and her family sat in the stands, their faces painted with their national flag and small, handheld flags in their hands.
At that time, not many people traveled from their home country to watch the Olympics, but there were still some.
The Olympic opening ceremony was quite a spectacle.
Afterward, the long-awaited competitions began.
They were mainly there to watch Yun Xiaowu’s swimming events.
Seeing athletes from several countries lined up together sparked an inexplicable desire to win.
They screamed encouragement for their country’s athletes and waved their little flags wildly.
This was no time to worry about maintaining a reserved, ladylike image. Everyone was doing the same.
And to top it all off, as luck would have it, there was an athlete from Little Japan in Yun Xiaowu’s heat.
