The Yun family was fiercely protective of their own, and they had the power and ability to back it up.

The troublemakers were quickly argued into a corner, where they fell silent.

She made an arrangement with them: if the weather was good on Saturday, she would take them.

Then she had her father see them off.

Only Eva and Daniel, along with the old professor and one of his trusted assistants, remained on the island.

The old professor truly loved this sort of thing and had a pleasant personality, so Yun Jiao went ahead and prepared rooms for them on the island.

"Eva, take a look at this."

Yun Jiao took out the pocket watch and handed it to her.

Eva asked curiously, "What is it? Is this the gift you mentioned? It looks like a very old piece."

As she spoke, she opened the pocket watch, and her eyes widened.

"This... this is... this is my grandfather and grandmother!"

Daniel, curious as well, leaned in for a look.

In the photograph inside the pocket watch, Eva’s grandfather and grandmother both looked young.

"Didn’t your grandfather pass away?"

Eva nodded excitedly, her eyes turning a little red.

"The merchant ship my grandfather was on was lost at sea. There was no news of him after that."

"Jiaojiao, where did you get this? Can you tell me?"

"My grandmother loved my grandfather very much. She never remarried. She’s told me so many stories about when they were young... sometimes she starts crying in the middle of telling them."

Yun Jiao said, "I only suspected because the people in the photo looked a bit like you. I found this when I was diving. I discovered a shipwreck and took this from a skeleton."

"A shipwreck!!!"

"That must be my grandfather’s merchant ship from all those years ago! My grandfather was a navigator and a great merchant. He sailed to many places, but his favorite was your Huaguo because of all the beautiful, elegant goods and culture."

"Jiaojiao, are my grandfather’s remains still there? I want to bring him home."

"They’re still there. I’ll go retrieve them for you the day after tomorrow."

"That’s wonderful! Thank you so much! I want to go with you."

The day after tomorrow was Saturday.

With Eva and the others staying on the island, Yun Jiao stopped going to school and studied at home instead.

’After all, the island gets a few wild "guests" from time to time. I can’t just leave people here by themselves. What if something happened?’

The next day, a "guest" arrived at the villa.

"Oh my God, why is there a leopard here?!"

Daniel’s panicked shout rang out.

He had been enjoying the sea breeze on the balcony when he spotted the Clouded Leopard walking toward them.

He quickly yelled, "Hey, people down there! Stop what you’re doing, there’s a leopard coming!"

The old professor and his assistant, who were examining fossils, heard him and looked in the direction Daniel was pointing. It really was a leopard!

The professor’s assistant quickly pulled his teacher and ran toward the villa.

"Professor, run faster! That’s a real leopard!"

Yun Jiao came out, rubbing her hair. "What’s going on?"

"It’s terrible, terrible! Yun Jiao, a leopard has appeared outside your house!"

Yun Jiao paused. ’What a coincidence,’ she thought. ’I was just thinking about it yesterday, and here it is today.’

"Oh, it’s fine,"

she said, her expression unchanged.

The others were surprised to hear this. "Don’t tell me you keep that Clouded Leopard as a pet?"

"Not exactly."

"It’s here to freeload."

Everyone: ???

Yun Jiao went to the fridge, grabbed a piece of meat, and then opened the door under everyone’s terrified gazes.

A figure pounced over in a flash.

"Look out!"

"Yun Jiao, look out!"

Yun Jiao easily caught the Clouded Leopard, which was quite a bit larger than her when it stood on its hind legs.

With one arm, no less.

"Settle down. Here’s your food."

That’s right. By now, Yun Jiao’s interactions with the Clouded Leopard were no different from playing with a large house cat.

"Wait, is your belly much bigger than before?"

Yun Jiao frowned and felt the Clouded Leopard’s stomach.

The Clouded Leopard lazily continued to eat its meat.

The old professor suddenly said, "This Clouded Leopard must be pregnant."

Yun Jiao: "...How long has it been since I last saw you? You’re already pregnant?!"

The old professor, truly a man of steel as one would expect from a dinosaur fossil enthusiast, actually recovered from the shock of seeing Yun Jiao’s interaction with the Clouded Leopard faster than any of the young people.

He even looked eager to try and pet the Clouded Leopard.

Unfortunately, the Clouded Leopard wouldn’t let him, and even acted a bit fierce.

After finishing its meal, the Clouded Leopard didn’t leave. Instead, it found a relatively secluded and quiet spot to lie down.

It would snarl at Eva and the others whenever they got close.

So they only dared to watch from a distance.

In the afternoon, Eva’s scream rang out.

"Yun Jiao! Jiaojiao! That big snake from yesterday, it’s back!"

It just went to show, this island really couldn’t function without Yun Jiao.

Soon, the appointed time arrived.

This time, they didn’t take the Yun family’s fishing boat.

Daniel had, from somewhere, procured a small yacht.

Everyone got to ride along on his yacht.

They then sailed in the direction Yun Jiao pointed.

"I can’t believe it’s this far out. You guys are incredible for being able to bring those bones all the way back."

Yun Jiao said, "We’re almost there."

Soon, they finally reached the target area of the sea.

"It’s right down there. Who wants to go with me?"

Everyone had diving gear prepared, and those who knew how to dive said they wanted to go.

Yun Linhai shook his head. "These people... they won’t be convinced until they hit a wall."

’Is that really a place a normal person can dive to?’

Yun Jiao put on a diving suit just for show, then led the group down into the sea.

As they descended deeper and deeper, the water pressure became unbearable, even with oxygen tanks.

Soon, some of them couldn’t take it anymore. They made a few hand signals and started swimming back up.

A few others persisted, continuing to follow Yun Jiao.

But the deeper they went, the fewer people remained.

They were still a long way from the shipwreck’s location, but not a single person was left beside Yun Jiao.

Everyone had been unable to bear the pressure and had swum back to the surface.

’Just as I thought,’ Yun Jiao mused. ’They wouldn’t listen no matter what I said. They had to experience it for themselves to understand that they really can’t come to this place.’

’Honestly, acting as if I was lying to them.’

Yun Jiao didn’t go back up. She first went to the trench to pick up a few fossilized bones, then headed to the shipwreck to "pack up" Eva’s grandfather and take him with her.

Meanwhile, back on the yacht, the group had started to argue.

"It’s impossible! A normal person can’t stay down that long, or at that depth! And she’s just a kid!"

"What’s wrong with being a kid? Our Jiaojiao was born for the sea! Just because you can’t do it doesn’t mean our Jiaojiao can’t!"

The faces of the few foreigners turned ashen.

Refusing to believe it, they had tried to dive down again afterward, but they all failed.

While they were all arguing endlessly, Yun Jiao finally returned.

Carrying bones, no less.

After surfacing, she didn’t take off her hood, but instead tossed the bones onto the boat.

"Here. To prove I wasn’t lying to you, I just found these."

"Eva, this is your grandfather."

Eva had no time to worry about anyone else. With red-rimmed eyes, she rushed forward.

"Grandfather!!!"

The others: ???!!!

Later, when they learned there was an entire shipwreck down there, everyone was stunned.

Both Daniel’s and Eva’s families were quite powerful. Eva had an aunt who was married to a prince of the Royal Family, so the other people on the boat couldn’t possibly afford to offend them.

With Eva and Daniel protecting Yun Jiao, even if certain people had some ideas, they were forced to suppress them.

In the end, aside from Yun Jiao and Eva, everyone else basically returned empty-handed.

But Yun Jiao didn’t let Daniel go back empty-handed either, gifting him a few bones.
