Eva was strikingly beautiful, now a fair-skinned Western stunner.

Her personality, however, hadn’t changed much.

Yun Jiao was quite fond of her.

’Oh, right...’

She suddenly remembered the pocket watch she’d found while salvaging a shipwreck. The person depicted on it bore a slight resemblance to Eva.

’Back then, I was thinking I should find Eva and show it to her sometime.’

But then things got too busy, and traveling abroad was a hassle, so she never got around to it.

’I think I brought that watch to the island with me.’

"Eva, I have something for you once we get on the island."

Eva’s eyes lit up. "Oh, really? I can’t wait!"

After a long boat ride, they finally arrived at the island. But before they could even see the fossils, they were startled by an enormous white snake.

"A snake! A huge white snake!"

To everyone’s astonishment, Yun Jiao walked over, wrapped her arms around the white snake’s midsection, and started dragging it toward the forest.

"I already told you, the lake isn’t your personal bathtub! Can you please stop coming over and acting like you own the place?!"

Yun Jiao rolled her eyes.

The giant snake didn’t attack when she picked it up. Instead, it lazily bent its head and flicked its tongue against her neck.

Yun Jiao just tossed it into the woods.

"No food today. I’ll bring you some tomorrow."

Dabai slithered away slowly.

When she returned, a crowd of people was staring at her with strange expressions.

She asked, "What’s wrong?"

Eva covered her mouth. "My God, Yun Jiao, is that your pet snake?"

Yun Jiao said, "No."

"It’s a native resident of this island."

The Clouded Leopard used to come by often, so she would frequently prepare some food for it.

But one time, she prepared food and the Clouded Leopard didn’t show up. Just then, she saw the white snake in the lake. After hauling the massive creature out, she tossed it a dead chicken so the food wouldn’t go to waste, and then released the snake back into the forest.

She never expected it to get addicted to free meals. It started coming back every so often, again and again.

It either came to freeload for food or to use the lake as its personal bathtub, snacking on some fish while it was at it.

"It’s wild?!"

Eva’s voice shot up.

The others also looked at Yun Jiao in utter disbelief.

’It’s wild, and you just went and picked it up like that?’

A snake that thick... if it wrapped around you, a person wouldn’t have the strength to break free. The constriction would shatter your bones, rupture your internal organs, and suffocate you.

Those who didn’t know Yun Jiao’s true strength thought: ’This kid has some serious guts.’

After walking a bit further, the group finally saw what they had come for.

No matter which country they were from, everyone was deeply shaken by the sight of the enormous skeletons.

"They’re magnificent."

"That’s a Giant-toothed Shark!"

Someone started frantically taking pictures of the massive shark fossil, their voice cracking with excitement.

"A complete Giant-toothed Shark skeleton! This is unbelievable!"

Until now, most discoveries of the Giant-toothed Shark had been limited to teeth.

A complete fossilized skeleton of a Giant-toothed Shark... besides the one Yun Jiao had here, there probably wasn’t another one in the world.

"Can you tell me where you found this?"

Someone asked Yun Jiao excitedly.

Yun Jiao scratched her head. "The bottom of the sea."

"Where exactly? There might be more fossil skeletons like this there. We’d like to take a look. It would be monumental for research on the prehistoric world. There might be many other prehistoric creatures we don’t know about."

Yun Jiao shook her head and said bluntly, "You can’t. None of you would be able to go."

"How is that possible? If you could go, we certainly can with the most advanced diving equipment."

Yun Jiao said, "No, you really can’t go."

She wasn’t sure how deep the trench was, but even reaching the seabed above the trench was impossible with the most advanced diving gear, let alone the bottom of the trench itself.

But of course, someone refused to believe it and started spouting some grand principles.

Yun Jiao just rolled her eyes.

"Fine. If you want to go, you can. But I can’t take you for free. You’ll have to pay."

Well, as soon as she said that, a self-righteous smartass immediately piped up.

The foreigners didn’t see any issue with it. In fact, if it meant finding more dinosaur skeletons like these, they were more than willing to pay to hire Yun Jiao.

But there was one brainless fellow from their own country.

"How could you do that? This is for the good of the country! We should see the bigger picture. For a child like you to be talking about money all the time... it’s just so tacky."

The Yun family thought, ’Is this guy still living in ancient times? Spouting all that nonsense about treating money like dirt and preaching grand principles at the drop of a hat.’

"Shut up!"

The leading professor, his face dark, felt utterly humiliated. And in front of foreigners, no less.

"But Professor..."

The professor said bluntly, "You’re so noble, treating money like dirt? How about I stop paying your salary? Would you be happy then?"

The man muttered awkwardly, "That’s not the same thing. Besides, it’s not like their family is short on money."

He looked at the houses on the island and the fossils, a flash of envy in his eyes.

’Ah, so he’s just bitter about the rich.’

Yun Xiaoqi retorted sarcastically, "How is it not the same thing? And what business is it of yours if our family has money? You don’t even live by the sea, yet you’re sticking your nose in everywhere. You should do some self-reflection and figure out why you’re so broke.

It’s definitely because you’re a failure. Instead of working hard to earn money, you just stare at what other people have. But you should know, what belongs to others will never be yours. Also, if you’re not smart, don’t try to think and just talk less. Look at how you’ve embarrassed yourself in front of all these people. I almost feel like I should find some face for you to put on."

The others were speechless.

The man was so furious his face and neck had turned beet-red.

But some people found it immensely satisfying. ’Yeah, keep going,’ they thought. ’We’ve been sick of that guy for a while. He has no real skills, just whines and nitpicks at others all day long.’
