Chapter 390 - 384: After the Typhoon

It was Mr. Mu who recognized what it was.

He stroked his chin. "I’ve seen this thing in the newspapers. It’s from Japan. They started showing up after an earthquake over there, and the locals are pretty scared of seeing this fish."

There hadn’t been an earthquake here, though. This fish must have been washed in by the typhoon.

"It’s still fresh."

Everyone grew excited after checking it and finding that it was, indeed, fresh.

The thing was massive. When they stretched it out, it was about thirteen meters long.

"Quick, go get our three-wheeler!"

This Emperor Fish was so big, a single sack wouldn’t be enough to hold it.

Yun Linhai hurried off to get the vehicle.

Everyone marveled at the Emperor Fish for a moment. Then, leaving two people behind to watch it, the rest went on to gather more sea treasures.

"So much squid!"

At Yun Xiaowu’s cry of surprise, the others rushed over.

Emperor Fish had never appeared here before, so most people didn’t recognize it.

"This thing is called an Emperor Fish."

So, they pulled the Emperor Fish out of the three-wheeler’s bed again. The thing was so long it took several people just to hold it.

This rare, giant creature attracted a large crowd of onlookers.

"No, I have to go look too. What if there’s other good stuff out there?"

Though they were green with envy over the Yun Linhai family’s Emperor Fish, there was plenty of other stuff on the beach right now, and they had to hurry up and gather it.

Only what you put in your own sack was truly yours.

"Dad! Dad, hurry over there! There’s tons of squid!"

The moment that shout went out, a crowd of people ran over in a frenzy.

By the time the crowd arrived, Yun Jiao’s group had already gathered five whole burlap sacks of squid.

When he came back to haul their own sacks, this part of the beach was already swarming with people.

Yun Jiao’s small figure darted through the crowd, gathering squid while her ears perked up, enjoying the drama.

The voice was so excited that everyone turned to look.

Then they saw what the person was holding: a yellowfin tuna.

A good number of people stopped grabbing squid and immediately crowded around.

Ah Feng pointed to a spot. "Behind those reefs over there. It was trapped in a tide pool. I heard a noise, went over to look, and there it was. Its tail was still moving."

Just then, Yun Jiao was looking at the grayish-white stone in her hand, about half the size of a basketball.

’Yep, I personally saw an auntie step on this stone, then kick it right in front of me because it was in her way.’

She grinned.

She quickly stashed it away and continued to wander around, looking for more things.

The two dogs also wagged their tails, picking up scallops in their mouths and dropping them into the bucket.

Someone with a loud mouth showed up and immediately started yelling excitedly.

And then they called over a whole new crowd.

Yun Jiao glanced at the burlap sack next to her, which was already filled to a point taller than she was. It was enough to eat.

Time to go gather some snails.
