The Necromancer's Guide To World Domination

Chapter 85: Statistically Speaking

  • Next Chapter

Ethan stood over the wrecked golem long enough to be sure that it was dead and exhaled.

"That... was pretty intense."

Honestly, he was glad that he was able to figure out a weak point as fast as he did. If not, things would have gotten ugly real fast...

He eyes moved towards his system.

```
[Death Energy: 971/1200]
[Time remaining: 50:44]
```

His death energy had already began recovering which he was thankful for.

However seeing the new numbers on his timer made him feel uncomfortable. The fight had taken quite a bit of time from it already, and the fact that he still had another chamber to clear wasn’t helping.

He rubbed the back of his neck, and dismissed his golem back into storage.

```
[Ding!]
[Undead has been dismissed.]
[Undead Recovery: Active]
```

He stared at the information again as an idea popped into his mind..

Since he was able to see the information about the crawlers, then he should be able to see information about the rest of his legion as well.

He focused on the screen for a few moments and it began to change.

```
[Bound Undead: Iron Golem]
[Rank: D]
[Classification: Slave]
[Corpse Quality by first binding: Excellent]
[Current Integrity: 41%]
[Status: Structural damage, right wrist critical, chest plating compromised; midsection deformed.]
[Traits:]
- High physical durability (Armoured)
- Effective battle adaptability
- Low agility but increased attack power.
[Undead Recovery: Active.]
```

He read through the information and his eyes snagged on its current integrity.

Forty one percent...

At forty one percent, any other tool could still be comsidered useful if put to good use. However, Ethan knew that working through it with a corpse in such condition will only make things harder. He didn’t have death energy to waste on a corpse that could no longer make a fist.

Ethan’s eyes moved towards the dead golem and he crouched beside it.

He took one look at the busted body and huffed something that might have sounded like a laugh. Since they were both iron golems their info should more or less be the same with a few modifications here and there.

All in all, the information was still useful. The body however, was not.

He knew that they would have to completely destroy it as something that troublesome couldn’t be killed in a way that left him able to raise it.

He sighed. If destroying it was the only way for him to keep moving, then so be it.

His only concern was that he had cleared two chambers and still couldn’t raise a single undead.

"Nothing to worry about though," he told himself. "You’ll find a better one. Third time’s the charm anyway..."

He stood up and mentally began comparing both beasts.

On the surface, they didn’t have much physical differences. To any other person, it would have been immediately overlooked.

’Rank C and Rack D don’t much different anyway,’ they would think.

However, the difference didn’t lie in how they looked. Rather, it lay in the way both monsters battled.

Where his golem struggled to move in a narrow space, this monstrosity moved perfectly fine in it, weaving and countering as if it had been designed for that kind of situation.

Structurally, his Rank D golem had a thinner iron plating while this one had reinforced plating covering most of its body.

’Well, none of it matters if you still have the same weak point.’ he thought with a snicker...

So far, he had learned that the iron golem had its weak points in every joint in its body. It really was like wearing a suit of armor, except, instead of having exposed flesh, the areas were brittle and easier to break compared to the other body parts.

He had to admit, his greed wanted an addition to his legion. But the monster in question was basically a waste of time and energy if he attempted raising it.

Even if he did stubbornly try to raise it, its quality would most likely to be poor...

```
[Time Remaining: 45:51]
[Death Energy: 988/1200]
```

He had forty five minutes left. Forty five minutes to clear the remaining chambers of a dungeon he didn’t know how big could be.

He turned to ab open tunnel and began moving. He didn’t know what exactly would happen to him if he was caught, and he sure as hell didn’t want to find out.

Arrest and execution aside, he wasn’t sure he would meet people who would just be pissed that he cleared the dungeon they were assigned to. For all he knew, the possibility of him facing complete torture in the hands of whoever found him was high enough. He couldn’t afford to be stupid...

***

He moved forward, clearing two additional dungeons as he went. The first chamber contained crawlers that proved less of a threat when you faced them before and cleared it in less than ten minutes.

He didn’t raise them because two was already more than enough and a part of him was very uncomfortable with what they were capable of.

The second chamber contained Beowolves that moved faster than the ones Ethan had killed sometime before.

Limited to one undead wolf and the Raven, Ethan had to form and reform several planned attacks on the spot, dragging the fight out and draining him faster than he liked.

And of course he didn’t bother raising them. Why? Because he was bored of using Beowolves.

Even if he raised one since one of the corpses were in excellent condition, it would only be useful now and become completely useless when he got out of here as he would not learn anything new from training with it now, unless he found out something new about the undead...

```
[Time remaining: 32:22]
```

He had spent a good portion of time in this dungeon, so now he knew he had to act fast.

When he walked into the next chamber, he was immediately hit with a dense pressure so thick, it was almost nostalgic.

Deeper inside the darkness something slowly began to shift and when Ethan noticed, his system had already pinged.

```
[Ding!]
[You have encountered: Wolf Alpha.]
[Classification: Devil.]
[Rank: B]
```

Holy shit, an alpha. He was finally going to face an alpha again.

He checked his timer. About thirty two minutes left, ticking away slowly like it had been doing the past hour.

He rolled his shoulder and reached into his shadow... it was time to see what kind of miracle he could pull in thirty two minutes...
