Chapter 458: Chapter 212: “Mr. Blake Also Likes to Fish

If Elise had known Sean’s identity from the beginning, she might have intentionally kept her distance. She was self-aware enough not to fall for someone she shouldn’t. But she had already fallen for him by the time she confirmed who he was, so she couldn’t be bothered with such trivialities anymore.

It was common knowledge that Mr. Carl Black was a magnanimous man whose love knew no bounds.

The official histories alone recorded more than one wife, and who knew how many were mentioned in the unofficial accounts.

And in this life, Sean had also fallen for Elvire.

It was hard to say whether he’d fallen for her before recognizing her as his past-life’s sister-in-law, or if he knew who she was and decided to fall for her anyway… In any case, adding another wife to the list was clearly unavoidable.

‘So, since he already had so many, what was one more? Surely that wasn’t too many, was it?’

“Why so quiet, Mr. Author?” Elise asked, blinking. “Think you’ll be able to sleep tonight?”

Sean: “…”

‘Sleep? Like hell I will!’

He’d known for a long time that this woman was clever and had been as careful as possible. But in the end, Elise had still discovered his identity—and in a way like this, no less.

Just moments ago, he’d teased her for being dense, and she’d immediately returned the favor with a devastating blow.

‘What am I supposed to do now?’

‘The fisherman by day becomes the fish by night.’

…Ah, whatever.

‘So what if she found out? At least Elise is on my side.’

Now that Elise was convinced he was Carl Black, there was no point in forcing the act any longer. Sean dropped the pretense and admitted, “You guessed right. I’m Carl Black.”

Elise looked at him with wide, expectant eyes. “And?”

‘She had a feeling that wasn’t all Sean wanted to say.’

“Then, in my capacity as the founder of the Holy Sanctuary, pioneer of the Era of Polymath, a great figure of history… and so on, I hereby command you.” Sean said in a grave tone, “You are forbidden from telling anyone about this, especially Elvire.”

Elise tilted her head. “Are you trying to role-play with me, Mr. Author?”

Sean: “?”

“I’m serious.”

‘His power hadn’t fully recovered yet. If his identity were to leak, danger would come at him from all sides.’

‘That danger could come from his enemies… or from his allies.’

Elise, of course, understood this, but she had no intention of agreeing so easily.

“Didn’t I just say? To me, you’re just Mr. Author.”

She wouldn’t acknowledge any “Carl Black,” so naturally, his commands were meaningless.

Sean gritted his teeth slightly. “Then what is it you want?”

‘He could see this wasn’t going to be resolved easily.’

“What I want… is simple.”

They were lying on the bed, still without the covers—they hadn’t gotten to them yet. Elise’s shoulders were bare, her chest half-exposed. She curled up slightly, hugging herself and putting on a pitiable expression. In a delicate voice, she said, “Mr. Sean, I’m a little cold.”

Sean reached for the blanket.

Elise: “?”

‘Playing dumb, are we?’

“Hold me.”

Elise said bluntly.

Sean refused, protesting loudly, “This is blackmail!”

“Miss Elise, a melon plucked by force is never sweet!”

Elise blinked. “But it still quenches your thirst.”

“Besides, we’re just getting started.” Elise’s gaze turned suggestive, her eyes traveling down Sean’s body and back up to his face. “Tonight, Mr. Author, you’re not just going to hold me. You’re going to take a bath with me, too.”

Sean: “?”

“No way!”

He refused flatly.

“Why? Eleanor and Liss can both bathe with you, so why can’t I?” Elise asked.

Sean: “…”

‘How did she know about that, too?’

‘Is there a mole?’

Sean scrambled for an excuse. “That’s different. They’re maids, serving me, their Master, during my bath. The circumstances are completely different.”

“It’s not different at all. I can serve you in the bath, too,” Elise said. “It’s just playing the part of a Maid, right? It’s not like that’s difficult.”

As she spoke, her eyes curved into crescents. Mimicking Liss’s tone, she cooed, “Master, you’d best be a good boy and listen to me tonight. Bathe with me, or else… you wouldn’t want Miss Flame Crow finding out that you’re actually Mr. Blake, would you? Master~”

Sean: “???”

‘Oh, so *now* she’s acknowledging he’s Carl Black, is she?’

‘Damn it, this little vixen!’
