The Most Arbitrary Wizard

Chapter 367 174: Mutually Injured

  • Next Chapter

Sean cast an Escape Curse and bolted forward.

Elvire cast a spell of her own and pursued him relentlessly.

"Sean, stop!"

"Nope."

"Didn't you want to hold Elise's hand? Come back and hold it!"

"I don't want to, I don't want to..." Sean yelled, chickening out as he ran. "I was just kidding."

"Is that so?" Elvire sneered. "I couldn't tell."

"You didn't pull away when she grabbed your hand just now. You're already used to it, aren't you?"

"Is this the 'proper master-servant relationship' you promised me?"

"And you even tried to provoke me with it... Congratulations, you succeeded."

"Just watch me chop off that misbehaving hand today!"

Elvire, radiating killing intent, chased right after Sean with her Giant Sword in hand.

Sean quickly explained, "I'm not used to it! Elise was just helping me wipe my hand, don't misunderstand!"

Elvire showed no signs of stopping. "Misunderstanding?"

"Fine, then I'll 'misunderstand' all I want today. Stop running, if you dare!"

"Only a fool wouldn't run."

Sean ran like the wind.

Ever since he was nearly encircled by the Florist Family at World's End, he had been practicing a lot of Escape Magic. Although he was still at Tier Three, as long as he used his Forbidden Magic Power, no Tier Five practitioner could catch him.

Sean was very confident about this.

However, the reality was...

As he ran, Sean realized something was wrong.

Elvire had chased him for a whole street, causing passersby to stare in bewildered surprise, feeling as if two gusts of wind had just blown past. But not only had he failed to shake her, the distance between them was actually shrinking.

They were both using the same Magic Spell. The effectiveness depended entirely on the amount of Magic Power one had.

'In other words, Elvire's current Magic Power has already surpassed mine when I use The Beginning of Forbidden Curse...?'

It dawned on Sean, and he exclaimed in shock, "You broke through to Tier Six?!"

Elvire said, "Heh, this young lady is nothing special. I just happened to break through a couple of days ago."

Sean immediately cupped his hands. "Congratulations, congratulations."

"Congratulations my ass." Elvire wasn't falling for his sudden change of tune. "Trying to change the subject?"

"Not a chance!"

She accelerated directly toward Sean, instantly closing the distance by a large margin.

And this was without her even using the Blazing Angel Secret Technique.

Otherwise, Sean wouldn't have even made it half a street before she had him pinned under her foot.

Seeing that the young woman was relentless and seemed dead set on beating him up, Sean couldn't help but say angrily, "I'm telling you, Elvire, don't think you can do whatever you want just because you're a higher Tier! I'm not to be trifled with, so don't push me!"

"So what if I push you? What are you gonna do about it?" Elvire said.

Those words sounded awfully familiar.

Except the roles were now reversed.

Sean gritted his teeth. "We're on a public street right now. I don't want to fight you, but if you insist on being so aggressive, I'll..."

"You'll what?"

"I'll take you down with me!"

Elvire: "?"

'Take me down with him?'

It wasn't that she looked down on Sean, she just looked down on Tier Three.

A Wizard with a pitiful few dozen Lak of Magic Power was actually threatening to take down a Tier Six Wizard with him?

"Alright," Elvire said mockingly. "I'll stand right here and let you have a free shot."

"You don't even have to take me down with you. If you can so much as injure me, I'll count it as your win, and we'll let this whole thing go."

"Let's see if you've got what it takes, Mr. Sean."

Sean bit his lip. "I told you, we're on a public street."

Elvire replied, "And I told you, either you come over here and 'take me down with you,' or I'll come over there and deal with you. Your choice."

"Fine, fine, fine," Sean said, laughing in anger. "You forced my hand. Remember what you just said."

THUD!

Elvire decisively plunged her Great Sword into the ground and stood her ground. "I keep my promises. As long as you can hurt me, you can hold Elise's hand all you want."

Sean said, "No, I was referring to the sentence before that."

Elvire: "?"

Sean said, "Stand right there and don't move. Let me have a free shot."

'The key part was "don't move."'

The moment the words left his mouth, Sean skidded to a halt, turned, and charged back without hesitation.

At the same time, he muttered an incantation, shouting, "prprpr... Credy!"

"Powerful Sucking Spell!"

Elvire: "?"

'What kind of spell is that?'

'I've never heard of it, and the pronunciation is bizarre.'

'It doesn't sound like the Old Tongue; it's more like modern internet slang.'

Elvire knew Sean was full of tricks and had plenty of hidden moves, so she didn't let her guard down in the slightest. She immediately summoned her Magic Power, letting it coat her skin and making her body as hard as iron.

Stone Skin Technique—this was one of the most basic applications of Magic Power for a High-tier Wizard. It didn't require a Magic Spell, so it wasn't cheating. Beyond this, Elvire used no other defensive measures. She refused to believe Sean could break through her defense.

But she had miscalculated.

And she didn't dodge.

Sean had never intended to break her defense in the first place.

He might have stood a chance fighting a Tier Five Miss Flame Crow by using a Forbidden Spell, but against a Tier Six Miss Flame Crow, he had no chance of winning at all.

After all, Elvire wasn't Sopea, who was unskilled in combat. On the contrary, no one was a better fighter than her.

So, from the very beginning, Sean never actually wanted to fight Elvire. Besides, a street brawl wasn't very elegant.

His target wasn't Elvire's magically enhanced body, but the girl's mouth.

Sean rushed in front of Elvire, stared straight into her eyes, then suddenly wrapped an arm around her waist, lowered his head, and aiming for her delicate, pink lips, kissed her fiercely!

"...Mmph!!"

'My first kiss!'

Feeling the soft lips on hers—slightly chapped at first, then quickly moistening—Elvire's eyes flew wide open. She began to struggle instinctively, but then Sean's voice echoed in her mind.
