As for why he had to cooperate with the White Bear Organization…

"Let me ask you a question, Elise," Sean said.

Elise tilted her head, mimicking him. "Go ahead, Master."

"Do you want to stay here and help me manage Sonaros State?" Sean asked.

Elise: "Huh?"

"No, no way!"

She hurriedly refused. "I just want to stay by your side and serve you, Master!"

"Exactly," Sean said, smiling as he gazed at the sky. "A place this big needs someone to look after it. You don't want to stay, and neither do I. So doesn't that mean we need to find some reliable people?"

"So that's how it is."

Understanding dawned on Elise again, her eyes sparkling. "You've thought of everything, Master!"

"Hey, you two." Elvire, who had been holding back at the side for a long time, finally couldn't take it anymore. "Are you ever going to stop talking?"

'Leaving me out to dry while he's laughing and chatting with a little maid… This Sean, can't he tell who the real Lady of the House is?'

'Are these two really just a master and a servant?'

Sean winked at the girl. "What's wrong? Jealous?"

Elvire: "Hah."

"Hey now, we were just having a normal chat," Sean said. "Elise didn't understand something, so I was just teaching her a little."

"That's right, that's right." Elise nodded eagerly. "I was just learning from the Master. Please don't misunderstand, Lady of the House."

As she spoke, she reached out and took Sean's hand.

'Wow, it's so warm!'

Elvire: "?"

'You're even getting handsy??'

"And you call this 'don't misunderstand'?!"

"I'm sorry, Lady of the House." Elise immediately let go of Sean's hand, looking wronged. "I just saw that the blood on Master's hand wasn't cleaned off, and I wanted to help him wipe it."

Hearing this, Elvire glanced at the girl's hand. There was, indeed, blood on her fingers.

But she still felt that Elise had done it on purpose.

No reason, just a girl's intuition.

Sean tried to smooth things over, saying with a grin, "Don't be angry, Lady of the House. Elise was just doing it for our sake. She cleans my hand so that I can hold yours, right?"

He then reached for the girl's hand.

Elvire, still suspicious about the strange relationship between the master and maid, slapped Sean's hand away with a huff. "Who wants you to hold their hand? Stop getting fresh with me."

This made Yisha and the others watching from behind snicker nonstop.

"Everyone's watching, and you're embarrassing me like this?" Sean was displeased. "Who was it that claimed to be my girlfriend earlier?"

Elvire's cheeks flushed red as she retorted, "That was because the situation looked bad, so I was just covering for you. You actually took it seriously?"

Sean: "?"

"What do you mean, 'took it seriously'?"

'How is this my fault??'

"Come on, explain it to me. What do you mean, 'the situation looked bad'?" Sean demanded.

"What do you think?" Elvire said. "She threw herself into your arms the moment she appeared. How could I not be on guard?"

"What if she'd suddenly pulled out a knife to assassinate you?"

Sean: "?"

"I'm not the Governor."

Elvire: "But you are a Wanted Criminal."

Sean: "?"

"Fine, even so, it was okay for you to be wary of her at first. But after I told you she was my neighbor and could be trusted, why did you still tell her to stay away from me?"

"In the name of being your girlfriend, no less?"

"There's a saying: 'you can know a person's face, but not their heart.'" Elvire, though not in the right, spoke with forced confidence, her face red. "So what if she's a neighbor? How do you know she hasn't been bought off by Kovloki? I was thinking of your safety, understand?"

"Fine, fine, you're right no matter what you say." Sean laughed in exasperation. "Basically, you're just not going to admit it, right?"

Elvire let out a soft huff and turned her head away.

'I won't admit it. Let's see what Sean can do about it.'

"Fine, don't let me hold your hand then." Sean huffed back. "If you won't, there are plenty of others who will."

"Elise!"

"Yes, Master."

"Come take a look for me. I think there's still some blood on my hand."

Sean eyed Elvire as he said loudly, "Look carefully this time. Don't let go so quickly."

Elise's delight was written all over her face. "Yes, Master!"

"I promise to look very closely. I won't miss a single hair!"

Elvire: "???"

"You dare!"

Before, Elise really wouldn't have dared.

But now…

Her Highness the Saintess had said: don't cause trouble, but don't be afraid of it either.

'With Her Highness the Saintess backing me up, the mere Blazing Angel Family is nothing to worry about, hmph hmph.'

And so, Elise put on her wronged expression once more. "I'm sorry, Lady of the House. I don't want to, but it's the Master's command. As a Maid, I cannot disobey my Master."

"Well said!" Sean praised, then deliberately asked Elvire, "I'll give you one more chance. Are you going to let me hold your hand or not?"

Elvire had never been so provoked. She gritted her teeth. "Sean, don't push me."

Sean: "I'm pushing."

'With a tsundere, if you don't push a little, the 'tsun' part will never turn into 'dere'.'

Elvire's fists clenched. "Say that again."

And Sean actually said it again: "I'm pushing you. What are you going to do about it?"

"Very good." With a SWISH, Elvire summoned her Giant Sword, her face radiating killing intent. "I forgot to tell you, Sean. I have a terrible personality. I'm selfish and self-serving, and what I'm best at is destroying what I can't have. So…"

"Today, I'll just chop off your hand, and then no one can hold it!"

Sean: "?"

'Crap, I think I went too far.'

"Saiyubolana… Credy!"

'Run!'
