Chapter 38: Do you really want to cancel your mate mark with Xavier?

"For what reason do I like you?" Liliana asked. "Isn’t it true that you don’t like me either? You marked me only because this mate bond controls your body, didn’t you?"

"You..." Xavier said, not knowing what to say.

"If you can’t, I’ll ask my older brother, Cassian, for help to cancel this mate mark. You don’t need to worry about continuing to be with me," Liliana said. "Now we must immediately return to the dormitory. Tomorrow morning is the first time we have to study again. I don’t want to waste any more of my time here."

"Hah!!" Xavier stared at Liliana in disbelief.

This was the first time in his life that he had been rejected. It wasn’t him who rejected, but rather himself who was rejected. Once again — he was rejected.

Liliana ignored him. She immediately stood up and walked back toward the direction of the academy dormitory. But after only a few steps, her legs could no longer support her body. Her legs were too weak, even just to walk a few steps.

Xavier, who saw that, unconsciously moved quickly and caught Liliana’s body before she fell.

"You..." Liliana said as she was lifted into his arms.

"Do you think that after sleeping with me you could walk normally as fast as usual?" he asked in an irritated tone. "You want to return to the dormitory, don’t you? If so, get on my back. Be quiet and hold on tight." Xavier ordered.

He transformed into a red wolf. Liliana stared at him for a moment before nodding and gripping Xavier’s fur to hold on.

Xavier said nothing. He carried Liliana’s body and ran toward the dormitory with quick steps.

There was an irritated expression that slipped onto Xavier’s face, different from Liliana who now had a satisfied expression on her face.

Everything went smoothly. However, when he almost reached the outside of the forest, Xavier’s steps halted.

Cassian in his black wolf form stood upright in front of them.

Liliana blinked, then got down from the body of Xavier’s red wolf and walked toward Cassian with slow steps while enduring the pain.

"Older brother. Where are you going?" Liliana asked without paying attention to Cassian’s dark face that was now staring at Xavier in front of him.

Cassian changed from his black wolf form and stared at Liliana in an instant.

Xavier had no intention of explaining anything. He followed Cassian and quickly changed from his wolf form.

"What are you doing here?" Cassian asked.

"I..." Liliana said stammeringly.

Cassian’s forehead furrowed instantly when he saw the kiss mark on Liliana’s neck. He walked closer. His forehead furrowed even more when he realized Liliana’s scent was now mixed with the scent of the red wolf who stood not far from them.

"You?" Cassian asked with a disbelieving face.

Liliana tightly clenched her fingers, not knowing how to explain.

Xavier behind her only stared at Liliana with a ridiculous expression.

"I marked her as my luna," Xavier answered. "She is the luna that the Moon Goddess gave to me."

Cassian was stunned for a moment, then stared sharply toward Xavier before tightly gripping Liliana’s shoulder.

"Liliana?" he asked, requesting an explanation.

Liliana swallowed her saliva, then looked up to stare into Cassian’s dark eyes.

"Older brother, what Xavier said is true. He and I have a fated bond from the Moon Goddess. We have already tried to cancel this bond, but never succeeded."

"Until..." Liliana fell silent for a moment. "We could no longer restrain the urge of that mark," she said with a pale face, afraid Cassian would scold her this time.

Cassian stared at her for a moment, then turned to stare sharply at Xavier.

He moved quickly and punched Xavier’s face hard.

"You dare to mark my younger sister as your luna?" Cassian asked while continuously punching Xavier’s face.

Xavier was stunned by Cassian’s sudden movement that punched him without giving him time to prepare.

After several punches landed, Xavier quickly returned the punches to his face.

"Older brother!" Liliana called out in panic, trying to stop the two of them.

Cassian ignored her and continued to return punch after punch that Xavier gave.

The two were evenly matched after several minutes, before both transformed into wolves and fought again with all their strength.

Liliana who witnessed that was stunned. She immediately transformed into a gray-colored wolf and dashed to stand in the middle of them.

"Older brother! Xavier! Stop!" she roared loudly.

Xavier narrowed his eyes, having no intention of stopping upon seeing Cassian who was still continuously attacking.

Damn! Liliana thought.

Without thinking long, she leaped and moved quickly to help Cassian pounce on Xavier.

Xavier was stunned seeing Liliana’s attitude that so suddenly helped Cassian.

Because he was not prepared, he was immediately defeated by the two of them without resistance.

"Errr..." Xavier growled.

Liliana quickly changed into a human, then reached for Cassian’s neck and stroked it slowly once the atmosphere was a little calm after they had taken down Xavier.

"Older brother! Calm down," Liliana said, trying to soothe him.

Cassian glanced at Liliana. He kicked Xavier’s body to the side before changing back into human form.

"Akh!" Xavier groaned in pain when the lower part of his body was kicked without mercy.

Cassian stared at Liliana sharply. "You so easily gave yourself to a werewolf like that?" he asked.

Liliana looked up. She reached for Cassian’s arm.

"Older brother, I also don’t want it. He is not the mate that I want. We have already tried to cancel this mate bond in various ways, but all failed," Liliana explained with a guilty expression.

"You’re not lying to me?"

Liliana nodded. "You are my older brother. Do you think I would lie to you about this?"

"We had no choice. You must know, once a werewolf meets the mate destined by the Moon Goddess, our bodies cannot refuse that urge," she added in a desperate tone.

Cassian said nothing. He still stared into Liliana’s eyes in silence.

"But you don’t need to worry. Xavier and I have already agreed to find a way so that we can cancel this mate mark," she added.

Cassian lowered his head then came closer.

"Does he know about your power?" he asked finally.

Liliana shook her head. "I didn’t use my power at all. Father has already forbidden me. I didn’t dare to use it. So, besides my real hair and face that he has already found out, he doesn’t know anything about me," she answered softly.

Cassian nodded in satisfaction. "Do you really want to cancel your mate mark with Xavier?" he asked once more.

Liliana glanced at Xavier who was now also staring at her, then turned back to Cassian.

"I’m sure we both don’t want this mate mark. So, Older brother, please help us cancel this mate mark."

Xavier behind her could only curse softly.

"Truly a damn luna. After enjoying my body, now you even want to throw me away?"
