Chapter 3508: Overwhelming Storm
Chapter 3508: Overwhelming Storm
Both of them exchanged a deep gaze as they understood exactly what the other was thinking. The air boiled with tension even as the oceans slowly began calming from the absence of any destruction for even a brief period of time.
The darkness of the ocean seemed to grow with each passing second as pure peril tingled in the silent atmosphere.
One moment, there was a faint calm in the air.
Then, it was gone.
The Dragon Emperor’s yellow reptilian eyes sharpened as he opened his mouth, unleashing a roar of extraordinary proportions. The sheer force of his voice was so high that it transcended sound itself, becoming nothing short of a wave of pressure.
And yet, that wasn’t even the most dangerous thing that came out of his jagged mouth.
A gamma radiation burst so intense that it was visible to the naked eye.
A faint, reddish hue that corrupted the very world to its color.
RUMBLE!!!
Rui gritted his teeth as he activated his Hydro-lensing at maximum power, putting everything he had to refract away the radiation. Yet, the sheer intensity of the gamma radiation was so high that it shredded water into hydrogen and oxygen, altering the optical density of his hydro lens, threatening to tear the shield.
Rui cast a reverse-Temporal Disharmony on himself as he slowed down his perception of time, allowing him to react quicker, barely managing to replenish his hydro lens with more water.
It delayed his response to the incoming physical attacks that threatened to crush him where he stood.
BOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!
CRACK
Rui partially evaded a destructive death blow as the attack glanced his arm, breaking it on the spot, as he leaped away, putting some distance between the Dragon Emperor and himself.
And yet, the Dragon Emperor had fully acclimatized to the environment of water by then. With a single flap of his wings, he arrived before Rui in a shockingly hydrodynamic fashion, maximizing speed and minimizing drag.
And yet, not even that was enough to allow Lord Shenlong to overcome his predictions.
WHOOSH
The attack crashed into an empty image.
A feint.
“Phantom Pain.”
BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!!!
Rui unleashed a quick barrage of blows against the Dragon Emperor’s body as the Dragon Emperor grimaced with the flash of intense pain that sent shudders through his body. “Tricks!”
His scales shook as they unleashed a myriad of gamma radiation lasers at Rui, only to find themselves refracted away.
The Dragon Emperor’s eyes sharpened to slits.
“You are not the only one who can bend light.”
With a flap of his wings, he bent the very fabric of space-time into a geometry that redirected light, causing it to converge upon a single target.
Rui’s eyes widened as he found himself dealing with recurring attacks that boomeranged back to him after he parried them away with refraction.
RUMBLE!!!!
The world shook as a tremendous amount of radiation converged upon him, threatening to ravage his body on an atomic level. Rui gritted his teeth as he expanded his refraction domain in all directions and over a greater range, trying to push them all away from him.
And yet, his success was only partial.
He was unable to redirect all gamma radiation.
A small, but significant amount of gamma radiation began flooding his body, attacking his cells and attacking his DNA, shortening his lifespan and causing mutations. The worst part was that the gamma radiation began attacking the cancer cells in his body.
Normally, that would be a good thing. However, in Rui’s case, it was merely weakening the explosive cancer that kept his Gu in check.
“Rgh…!”
Rui gritted his teeth as dark cracks and veins began slowly emerging within his body as tiny bits of the Gu began going berserk within his body. He began using the pluripotent exotic matter within his body to boost the division rate of his cancer cells to strengthen it against the gamma radiation.
But there was a limit to how long that could work. He would need to have found ways to deal with the cancer before it became a thing that exceeded his limits. The Dragon Emperor, on the other hand, grew gleeful and euphoric at the sight of Rui being pressed to a corner.
RUMBLE!!!
The world shook as he generated even more gamma radiation. The gamma radiation generation organs within his body were pushed to the limit as he entered overdrive mode.
A flood of gamma radiation exited his body, coursing towards Rui, who grew more and more pressured, and more and more bathed in gamma radiation. With a single flap of his wings, the Dragon Emperor bent the very fabric of space and time, causing radiation to converge upon Rui, threatening to consume him alive.
As a dragon who relied on gamma radiation as his most potent weapon, it was hardly a surprise that he had gained profound mastery of it, even if said mastery was technological rather than skill. It consumed more energy, which reduced even the limited time he had left underwater, but it was better than simply trying to attack Rui with countless attacks.
Rui had proved to him that he was just superior at foresight categorically; never had the Dragon Emperor felt so hopeless when it came to trying to touch someone. It was like he could see the future.
With an omnidirectional gamma radiation storm, however, his foresight didn’t mean as much, for the future was inevitable and everywhere. The gamma radiation storm only grew tougher and tougher as the Dragon Emperor unleashed more and more gamma radiation, flapping his powerful wings to bend the very fabric of space to return them to Rui.
With each wave, the Dragon Emperor’s enthusiasm grew with the growing intensity of the storm. His eyes remained fixed on Rui with heightened alertness, unwilling to let anything undo the progress that he had made.
Instead, he saw Rui’s mouth open as a single whisper escaped it.
“Void of Water.”
RUMBLE!!!!!
The Dragon Emperor roared with pain as an ocean of Water converged upon his mind, drowning his brain in information.
