Chapter 3330: Warring Moridia

Chapter 3330: Warring Moridia

“The deepening of human-elven ties after the light elven assault is… unexpected.”

A smooth, silky, masculine voice remarked with an intrigued, confused tone.

The man’s body was translucent.

It allowed light to pass through.

One could partially see the extravagant leather of the chair behind him through his neck, illuminated by the bright light of the morning Sun, while an ostentatious, silky, gray strip of cloth wrapped around his body, covering him from head to toe.

His eyes were a translucent silver, almost ephemeral.

He leaned forward, resting his bandaged elbows on his wide, spacious table, covered with all manner of items.

Including a stamp with the insignia featuring a tree with bird wings, while two olive branches curved around it, with a flag topping all of it.

It was the insignia of the Marne Republic.

He was the Goeti, the sovereign head of state and head of government of the largest democratic evolutionary nation on the continent of Moridia and the second-largest evolutionary polity of Moridia after the Evolutionary Army.

Across the table from him were several translucent individuals garbed in a similar cloth-bandaged attire from head to toe, with different colors and binding styles.

“…The dark elves supply about thirty percent of our crop intake, Your Excellency,” the Minister of Domestic Affairs of the Marne Republic informed the Goeti even as the latter read through the intelligence report with a serious expression. “Now that their ties with human civilization have deepened to such an extent, our ability to antagonize human civilization only continues to reduce. The dark elves have proven to the world that they are willing to stand by human civilization even if it means bleeding to do so, the moment they cut ties with their sisters in East Genora.”

The Goeti nodded solemnly. “I wasn’t a big fan of the idea of pointlessly antagonizing the humans of the Lost Continent like our militant brothers to our east in the Evolutionary Army. In the first place, I do subscribe to the principle that the enemy of an enemy is a friend. It has been our guiding light insofar as our foreign policy is concerned. It also helps in our never-ending war against the Evolutionary Army.”

The Evolutionary Army of Moridia did not occupy the entirety of the continent; its territory was limited only to East Moridia, facing the Panama Continent at the very center. It was why they were among the six parties that were first to set foot on the Panama Continent from the true world.

However, that didn’t mean that there weren’t other evolutionary polities in West Moridia.

Among them, the Marne Republic was the largest and was the vanguard in the war to curtail the Evolutionary Army’s expansionary imperialism that extended against even members of their same species.

Moridia was constantly drowned in war.

A large war that extended from the north to the very south of the continent, dividing the continent vertically into the eastern and western blocs. The Evolutionary Army mercilessly launched attacks and invasions into the West, hoping to subjugate and annex all the evosapiens living in the East into their numbers.

The more evosapiens the Evolutionary Army had, the more powerful it would become on the global stage, after all.

In order to resist the imperialism of the Evolutionary Army, all the evosapien nations in the West banded together to pool their power to resist the Army’s invasions and repel them, protecting their lands and territories.

A total of seven hundred different polities partook in the defensive effort under the banner of the West Moridian Treaty Alliance, a military alliance meant to allow them to protect themselves from the Army’s imperialism.

Each year, the Evolutionary Army mounted a devastating, large-scale invasion into West Moridia, hoping to finally crack and destroy the resistance and assimilate all the native evolutionaries into the army and increase their collective might.

And each year, the Western Bloc would struggle to hold them off, barely managing to stave off the devastating power of the Army with all their collective might poured together. The Army was one of the most powerful forces in the world, making it almost impossible for anybody but the elves to resist their invasion and send them flying back home.

Until human civilization managed to replicate just that very feat in the Panama Continent about five months ago.

Much to the surprise of the world, not only had human civilization managed to parry the invasion and send the Evolutionary Army running back home, but they had also managed to kill Supreme Commander Anthea, the strongest evolutionary.

They managed to do the impossible and earned the permanent enmity of the Evolutionary Army.

They inadvertently showed West Moridia that it was possible to defeat the Evolutionary Army.

“For centuries, we have been on the defensive…” The Goeti whispered with a heavy tone. “For centuries, we have barely clung to our territory, losing pieces of it each year. But now…”

His translucent eyes lit up.

“Now we have an opportunity.”

His attention shifted to the intelligence report detailing an intelligence profile of Rui Quarrier.

“We have an opportunity in the humans to cull this threat once and for all.”

The blow that human civilization had dealt to the Evolutionary Army, as far as loss of personnel and resources was concerned, was not small. They had lost a lot of good evolutionary warriors, including their late supreme commander, and had lost a lot of resources expended into the invasion and colonization of the Panama Continent.

“If we ally with human civilization, we might be able to team up and crush the Evolutionary Army once and for all, eliminating this cancer in our species,” The Goeti’s translucent eyes sharpened. “But… we can’t delay it. If we delay it too much, then…”

His fists clenched.

“Then our enemies will have reaped the Fruit of Evolution.”

The Fruit of Evolution.

It was what the Marne Republic and the western bloc of Moridia called the next generation of evolutionary babies conceived from the seed of the former Supreme Commander.
