Chapter 3329: Otherworldly Adaptive Evolution

Chapter 3329: Otherworldly Adaptive Evolution

She paused as she recalled how they had even come here in the first place.

The Emperor of Harmony had demanded compensation for the ambush that Rui had suffered, and he had demanded that they be more open to trading their flora network technology, one of the core technologies of elven civilization.

When she spoke about how fitting compensation would be required, he had brought up the strange question about aliens, which, in hindsight, made sense. She had to admit, the trade was very appealing to her.

Old gen flora network technology was used for most of the research data they had on the alien flora specimen. This was a pure information trade on both sides, thus neither side stood to lose anything materially.

Of course, by trading their technology, the dark elves would lose exclusive control over the flora network technology, allowing human civilization to benefit from their technology. However, this wasn’t necessarily a net negative for the dark elves.

They wanted nature to grow stronger across the entire continent.

That was the reason that they conducted their seeding program to spread nature across the entire planet through their biotechnological spores.

By spreading flora technology on the Panama Continent, they would increase the number of continents on which they could maintain their power via manipulation of nature.

And in return, they would get access to the data on alien flora.

The fact that alien flora existed was an amazing fact. It was one that excited Mother Alicia about the possibilities that the elven mastery could be broader than they could have imagined. If they could learn to manipulate alien equivalents of flora, then they would be much more confident about traveling the universe.

It would also perhaps allow them to study how to adapt their flora to another world by looking at how this lifeform managed to survive on an entirely different planet.

One of the challenges that the elves had had some difficulty overcoming was figuring out how to adapt their nature to another world. They intended to use their nature manipulation to terraform a world and make it closer to Genora so that they could inhabit it with no problem. But having their flora survive a vastly different environment was an extraordinarily difficult task.

The alien flora lifeform before her, however, represented an opportunity to overcome this shortcoming in one fell swoop. If she could just figure out what its adaptive evolution mechanism was to thrive in alien environments, then she would be able to integrate that technology into the next generation of flora technology in the Genora Continent and would solve one of their largest problems when it came to the Race to Space.

“…I accept your offer.”

She made up her mind.

While she would need to consult with her sisters, she was extremely certain that they would all be on board with this trade. It also reaffirmed the value of protecting their relationship with human civilization, even at the cost of breaking ties with their sisters. If they had chosen to renege on their agreement with human civilization not to let their relationship with their sister crumble, then they would not have gotten such an offer from the Emperor of Harmony.

“I’m glad to hear that,” Emperor Rael smiled at her. “Let me know when you are ready to finalize the agreement, and I will have my administration send a draft of the contract, and they can negotiate the minutiae from there.”

She nodded. “We don’t intend to delay it that much. This deal is very important to me and to Elven civilization. Rest assured that you will find that we will not shortchange you regarding what we offer in return. Human civilization is bound to thrive with a flora network of its own.”

That was exactly what the Emperor of Harmony wanted to hear. Seeing how dominant and invincible it made elves in their homeland, he deeply desired the same effect from the technology, even if to a lesser extent.

In his estimation, the acquisition of flora network technology increased the probability of human civilization’s survival by several percentage points all by itself. The energy absorption from impacts and seismic energy meant that an orbital assault from outer space was not going to be catastrophic for human civilization, for the networking energy absorption of their flora technology would greatly mitigate the destruction and even allow them to gain a surplus in energy.

The information part of the flora network would improve their information sector, increase coordination with the Beast Domain, and allow for a remarkable logistical convenience. Making use of the flora super-intelligence could prove to be a powerful strategic advantage as well.

It also opened up the possibility of having some dark elves migrate to the Panama Continent and settle there permanently, interbreeding with human civilization to form a hybrid elven-human civilization that could become the basis of a permanent bond with West Genora.

Both the dark elves and the humans had a lot to gain from this arrangement.

Very rapidly, shortly after, the Kandrian Empire and West Genora began a swift round of negotiations regarding the details of the trade. The Emperor of Harmony had ensured that the trade occurred between the Kandrian Empire and the West Genora rather than the Panamic Alliance so that he could leverage this to bolster and solidify his position within human civilization, making him even more the indisputable leader of humanity.

The elves were happy to oblige, quickly solidifying the terms of the trade contract before both parties signed off on it, conducting a trade that surprised the true world. None of the other races and civilizations had expected the elves to give up their flora network technology.

It was a reflection of deepening elven-human ties.

Another event that reflected the deepening of elven-human ties was the announcement of the engagement between the Emperor of Harmony and Mother Alicia.

It reinforced a message that had already been sent.

Human civilization was not without allies.

Any force that was contemplating an invasion to plunder esoteric resources needed to reckon with this face.
