Chapter 3309: Your Death Will Be Mine

Chapter 3309: Your Death Will Be Mine

The sheer intensity of the explosion was so great that the energy signature could be felt from across the true world. The destruction that the Mothers of Nature unleashed upon Rui was so great that it was almost inconceivable that anybody could have possibly survived the explosion head-on.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The lands of the forest shook violently as the roots absorbed the flood of seismic energy, struggling to halt the destructive earthquakes born from the attack. If not for the measures that the Mothers of Nature had undertaken to protect East Genora from their attacks, then there would have undoubtedly been a mass loss of life.

And yet, the flood of water that emerged from within the forest, spreading across the entire world, remained. The tsunami that assaulted the minds of all those who beheld it only appeared to grow stronger, much to the disdain of the Mothers of Nature.

’He’s…’ Mother Mara couldn’t even believe what she was seeing. ’He’s alive…?!’

’Impossible!’

’We blasted him with everything we had when he was in a devastating condition!’

RUMBLE!!!!!

The world shook as the smoke and dust began clearing, revealing a silhouette at the very epicenter of the clearing made by the destructive explosion.

What they saw shook the Mothers of Nature where they were.

There he was.

Not just alive, but doing better than ever.

His body was covered in an invintium armor that was rendered almost molten by the sheer destruction that the Mothers of Nature unleashed.

His wounds were gone.

The flesh that had been eviscerated by their attacks had seemed to return, based on his figure. The broken bones he had sustained in the battle appeared to have been mended back in place, while his body as a whole had been restored to its former state.

’How…’ Mother Mara’s tone was one of pure disbelief. ’How can this possibly be?’

Not a single Mother of Nature could possibly believe what they were looking at.

They had ambushed him out of nowhere, teleporting him into attacks of great destructive power while he was off guard. Not only had he survived, but he continued surviving despite being in the middle of a battlefield that was rigged against him and in their favor in many ways, with months of preparation.

The blood-red Suns in his eyes shined with blinding brightness as Rui monitored his condition, checking his constitution to verify whether he had reached stability and had healed properly. He had absorbed as much nutrition as he could, using it to regrow his flesh.

Not just the parts of his flesh that were destroyed, but also much of his body that had been turned into primordial seed after the initial explosion, blew away much of his body. Thus, he had regained much of the primordial seed that he had used in the initial blast.

Just enough to form a thin invintium armor around his body, which, along with his other techniques, allowed him to elevate his defensive prowess to a whole other level.

He had just barely managed to turn the tide of what was an extremely perilous battle.

He quickly turned off the adaptive evolution that he had copied from Anthea against the gu, allowing the explosive cancer within his body and the gu to begin canceling each other out once more.

The whole process had cost him much of his lifespan, but it was worth it, as for as he was concerned. Considering the sheer magnitude of the threat to his life that he was facing, simply surviving could be considered to be a very impressive feat.

His shining blood-red eyes shifted to his hands as he flexed them.

A flicker of displeasure emerged on his face.

“Suboptimal.”

His healing had been fueled by the explosive cancer in his body, leading to highly fast and aggressive regeneration, but left much to be desired when it came to the quality of healing. It was another thing that he would have to fix when he got out of there.

The blood-red Suns in his eyes shifted as his attention turned from inward to outward.

His gaze shifted to Mother Mara.

A strange silence overcame the battlefield as both sides took a moment of reprieve from the intensity of the battle prior.

The Mothers of Nature, in particular, were left stunned in silence.

Even though they were kept growing stronger with each passing moment due to the rising morning Sun, they realized that their opponent had grown even stronger. From the moment his eyes began shining like blood-red Suns, he had gained a tremendous amount of power.

They had tried to kill him each moment across the battle, and had even given it their all multiple times.

And yet, he refused to die.

Despite the injuries he sustained, he refused to succumb to his wounds and to the pressure that the Mothers of Nature put on him.

It wasn’t just that he was unwilling to die.

He was also unwilling to let live.

His shining blood-red eyes remained fixed on Mother Mara as he recalled one of the goals that he had sought to accomplish.

His eyes flared with intensity as a single remark escaped him.

“You will die.”

WHOOSH

In the blink of an eye, he surged towards her from across the forest, mobilizing his gu as his attention remained focused on her.

’You are not qualified to kill me.’

Mother Mara’s tone was icy.

Contemptuous.

And yet, it wasn’t entirely devoid of substantiation.

She was a Mother of Nature on her home turf.

Mothers of Nature, as Rui had discovered, possessed incredible defensive caliber. On top of that, within their home turf, nature was at its most powerful. It allowed her to capture an overwhelming environmental advantage.

While the battle had gone in Rui’s favor, that was merely because he managed to survive the battle.

He hadn’t gotten any closer to actually successfully harming his enemies, even a single time, from the start of the battle.

Now, he intended to change that.

WHOOSH!

He shot through the heavens at a tremendous speed, heading straight towards Mother Mara with a single intention.

“Your death is mine.”
