Tessa’s POV

It had been days since I married Lucian, and it already felt like I should have stayed unmarried.

What wouldn’t I do to get Lucian to fuck me so I could carry his babies? I’d marked the date I would seduce him so it would be the right one.

"Lucian, what would you like to eat?" I asked him, and he didn’t even answer me.

I kept persisting, and he yelled at me, "I said I’m not eating. What’s your problem, Tessa?"

No one was there, thankfully, to see how he was treating me like trash. There was a saying that any character you hadn’t yet seen in your spouse would be revealed in marriage. That was very true. I found it hard to believe it was only because he was married to me that he behaved that way. This was who he really was.

"Please eat something for me, Lucian. I’d be upset if you didn’t eat anything," I added.

"Didn’t you want to be married? Now you are, so bear it!" Lucian said.

Lucian had been the most absent husband ever. I had to wait for today to pass before officially resuming my Luna duties tomorrow.

I was in the house alone, thinking to myself. I was so idle, and many things could happen in a moment like that.

I didn’t like it.

I stared at the ceiling, the walls, his clothes, and everything else in the room.

I started thinking about the time we’d spent together. It felt like a whole lifetime ago.

I remembered when he was hungry for me and only me, always wanting to press his lips against mine. I shouldn’t have given him what he wanted whenever he wanted it, if I’d known we were getting married.

But I gave it to him anyway.

He would kiss me at will and press his hand against my clit.

There was one encounter I kept reminiscing about as I lay on our matrimonial bed while Lucian was gone. I used the memory of it to masturbate until I reached orgasm.

His tongue had reached so deep into mine that all I could taste was seduction itself.

This wasn’t good for a married Luna. But I was horny ... I needed someone to take the edge off. I needed to fuck someone, and Lucian was the only one who could do that.

I couldn’t go cheating. I’d just gotten married.

"Fuck me harder, Lucian. Fuck me harder!" I’d commanded him as he penetrated me without remorse. I could feel every inch of him reaching inside me. That was one of the best fucks we’d ever had.

He fucked me like a pro. I wished it would never stop.

"Lucian, you didn’t lock the door."

"Leave it," he’d said, still fucking me.

He was so into it.

He’d turned me around and given me back shots. I was screaming and moaning, but there was no one coming to help me.

Damn, I’d lost every sense of reasoning.

His spent cock had finally slipped out of me. And I sucked him with zest, his cum still on it, taking him down to the back of my throat.

He’d released the rest down my throat.

The memory of it made me cum for real. That had been the first sexual encounter I’d had since the marriage, and I knew I needed a real one again ... and Lucian was going to be the one to give it to me.

"Good morning, ma’am. Good morning, Luna," greetings flew from every direction. Damn, it felt good to be Luna, even though I was going through a lot internally.

I had to clean myself up from the whole ordeal. Lucian couldn’t know I’d been masturbating ... that would be humiliating.

"Madam Luna, what would you like to wear today?" a fashion designer asked as she entered my room and laid out an array of ready-to-wear clothes. I was amazed. They were all so beautiful I didn’t know which to choose.

I picked the ash-coloured one because I never cared much for bright colours.

"Great choice, Luna," she said, and added a little extra embroidery to it, making it look even more stunning.

I tried it on, and it was, without question, the finest piece of clothing I’d ever worn in my life.

I couldn’t hold it in. I had to say something.

"This is so good, thank you for this."

"No, thank you, our well-deserved Luna," she replied, and just like that, I decided to keep her as my permanent fashion designer.

Which I did.

"I’m so grateful for the honour," she said.

I couldn’t afford to lose a gem like her. I was going to use every bit of privilege that came with being Luna. I’d only just become Luna, and it was going to be a long stretch of enjoyment and adventure ... hopefully with Lucian along for the ride eventually.

Someone else came in to do my makeup.

"Madam Luna, I need you to trust me," she said. "My work comes out beautiful when you trust me. Any questions?"

I had none. I just told her to do her thing. I was eager to see how it would all turn out. I closed my eyes through most of the process, listening to her work.

"Let me mark your face so I know the shape and direction to follow," she said, tracing my features with a pencil. It felt so relaxing I could have fallen asleep in that chair.

Once she finished the outline, she took a cleanser and toner to my skin and exfoliated it. The heat of it told me no trace of acne would survive.

Then she applied foundation with care, and I felt my face shift into a smoothness I’d never experienced before. These were real professionals. She layered on concealer with a brush so soft it barely felt like it was touching me.

By the time she finished the lip gloss and set everything with a final spray, I looked at myself and saw a completely different person ... reborn, transformed, almost celestial. I knew it was me, but I still couldn’t quite recognize the reflection. It was like my own eyes were deceiving me.

I kept the makeup artist too.

I wasn’t about to lose her. I’d get their names later, but I secured them first. They’d have to register officially with the royal household.

I was so glad to have them both by my side. This was what being Luna was all about.

I was happy ... genuinely happy ... on the inside.

There was a knock on my door while my hair was being finished. Kael walked in.

"Congratulations, Luna. I hope you’re enjoying the journey so far?"

I smiled. "Of course I am. What do you think?"

I turned to show myself off to him.

"I must say, Luna Tessa, you look absolutely stunning."

That warmed my heart.

"Anyway, I’m here to let you know you should get ready to address the people of Winterwood on your first day as Luna. It’s time to give them your assurance and your word. Someone will help you prepare your speech," he said, just as a male wolf stepped in.

"Hmm, that won’t be much work. I already have a lot in my mind ... I trust he can help me put it into words," I said to Kael.

"Yes, of course he can."

Work was about to start. Being Luna of the people, I was learning fast, was work indeed.
