The room fell silent.

The young man’s mocking smile grew more pronounced, as he coldly eyed the mixed blood middle-aged man, "Ask yourself honestly, how much time will he give us? Will this failure exhaust his last bit of patience?"

"Well..."

"Stop hemming and hawing, you know it clearly in your heart!"

"The gentleman is a person whose temper... is not very good," the elderly white coats murmured from the ground.

The middle-aged man glared at him, "Shut up."

Not many of those present had met "the gentleman"; most of the information came from the elderly white coats and the middle-aged mixed blood.

"Let him speak."

"Yes, let him speak!"

"Why not let him speak!"

When someone gets excited, there will be others who agree.

The young man didn’t need to further incite anyone, as a few hot-tempered white coats were already furious.

"Why not let him speak, are you hiding something from us?"

"If the operation fails, maybe you won’t be affected, you are the gentleman’s trusted ones, you’ve seen him, then what about us? Will we be replaced and if so, where will we be sent? Will we be thrown directly into the sea to feed the sharks?"

"Let me tell you, if anything happens to us, neither of you will survive either!"

"None of us can escape," the elderly white coats said in despair, "the gentleman’s illness has worsened, he desperately wants our experiment to succeed, and this time there’s hope, the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment. If we tell him now that the surgery failed, we won’t be able to withstand the gentleman’s wrath, we’ll all die! All die!"

"Smack!" The middle-aged mixed blood slapped him.

"Shut up!"

The elderly white coats covered his face, glaring at him, unable to suppress his anger: "Every time the gentleman gives us money, you take away 20%! You’re a lone wolf, no family, no children, you’re not afraid of death! But I’m different, I have a wife and kids to support!"

Upon hearing about the 20% cut, people had already angrily rushed forward, pressing the middle-aged mixed blood to the ground.

"Let go of me, you’re crazy!"

Three white coats pressed the middle-aged mixed blood to the ground, one even furiously punched him, sending the Gold-rimmed Glasses flying.

"What do you think you are, we research day and night, and yet you dare to take our money!"

"Among us, your academic credentials are the weakest, your professional abilities are also the poorest, and you have the audacity to take away our hard-earned money, why!"

"Is it just because you know the gentleman, have met the gentleman? Every time the money passes through your hands, I feel uneasy, indeed, you’ve proven to be shameless, daring to take our money!"

"Search him, find all his money and cards!"

"Pay back what you owe us, with interest!"

"Robbers, you thieves!" The middle-aged mixed blood roared, "I’ll tell the gentleman, tell him about your wicked deeds!"

The young white coats at this moment stood by with arms crossed watching the drama unfold like an outsider, as if a worldly sage.

He had triggered this conflict yet became a spectator.

The middle-aged mixed blood’s wallet was searched, and a folded letter was found within.

"What is this?"

"Let me see!"

"I don’t understand this language, is anyone here from the same country as him?"

"Let me see, oh heavens, we’re finished, finished!"

"What on earth does it say, hurry and tell us!"

The person who understood the letter looked despairing, his voice hoarse, he spoke with difficulty: "The letter is from the gentleman, clearly stating if this experiment fails, half of the people will be replaced..."

"The ones who are replaced will...what will happen to them?" someone asked weakly, their voice trembling.
