The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast
Chapter 1934: Old Tie Went to Investigate the Laboratory
Ghost Enforcer Uncle saw her insist, wracked his brains, and finally thought of a possibility.
"It’s not like there are no other possibilities."
"Uncle, you have an idea?"
Ghost Enforcer Uncle frowned: "Maybe the head wasn’t destroyed, but it’s no longer his, which is why this happened—he’s completely lost his reason. But this kind of situation is rare; there was once a case like this."
Little Taotie stared at him excitedly: "Say it! Hurry up and say it!"
"There was a pair of deformed twins, two heads sharing one body. They simply couldn’t be separated; once separated, one had to die. Later, the selfish younger brother drugged his older brother’s tea and had a surgery done, cutting off his brother’s head. He thought the surgery was a success, but his own consciousness dispersed instead, and it was the older brother’s consciousness that used his head. After death, certain changes occur—original deformities get corrected—so he ended up with a body, but this body belonged to the older brother. The head and body didn’t match, so he couldn’t reincarnate at all. Only after the older brother died could they switch back and reincarnate together."
Little Taotie blinked, looking completely lost: "I don’t really get it."
Hua Jinyan explained: "This might have to do with causality. The two-headed person shared one body, but that body was actually the older brother’s. The younger brother wanted to cut off the older brother’s head, and what happened in the end was that although the older brother’s head was cut off, the older brother lived and he died, because that body was never his. Without the older brother’s head as an anchor, he simply couldn’t use that body."
Little Taotie half-understood, half-didn’t: "The way you put it, I kind of get it. So when the younger brother reincarnated, only one head reincarnated, and it was parasitic on the older brother. But he cut off the older brother’s head, so that body of the older brother’s couldn’t help him stay alive, so he died. On the Ghost Enforcers’ register, the older brother’s time of death hadn’t come yet, so the older brother stayed alive."
Ghost Enforcer Uncle clapped his hands: "Right, that’s pretty much it."
"But this... what does this have to do with Uncle Tie?" Little Taotie was puzzled.
Ghost Enforcer Uncle: "You might not know this, but word has already spread among us Ghost Enforcers. Recently, humans have been conducting an experiment. We’ve already taken away several people who died because of this experiment."
"What experiment?" Little Taotie asked, confused.
Lu Yuan, standing to the side, suddenly asked: "You said an experiment?"
Little Taotie repeated Ghost Enforcer Uncle’s words to Lu Yuan.
Lu Yuan seemed to be thinking: "Old Tie’s latest assignment seemed to be investigating a laboratory."
Hua Jinyan: "Then we can connect the dots. Because he was investigating the lab, he was discovered by the criminals and ended up as an experimental subject."
Ghost Enforcer Uncle let out a sigh: "That experiment is a head transplant."
Little Taotie blinked, doubting his own ears: "You can even swap heads? You can live after your neck’s been cut?"
Ghost Enforcer Uncle shrugged: "Apparently you can, but not for long, so it’s still experimental and hasn’t succeeded. As for the specifics, you’ll have to ask the Ghosts who died because of the experiment. I’ll go find some and bring them here so you can ask them yourselves."
Ghost Enforcer Uncle drifted off like a strong gust of wind, then came howling back, both hands gripping two Ghosts.
"These two were in line for reincarnation, and I yanked them out. You’ve got fifteen minutes. Hurry up; you can’t delay their reincarnation time."
The two Ghosts didn’t know much, only that it was indeed a head transplant experiment.
They were gamblers who literally gambled themselves away and became experimental subjects.
Every day they were injected and medicated; when they were awake, it was just eating, drinking, and relieving themselves, then they’d fall into a stupor again.
One Ghost stared at Uncle Tie, scratching his head: "I think I... saw him before, in the lab. He seemed to be..."
"Right! I remember now! He was the one delivering meals!"
"He brought us experimental subjects our food! He’s really tall. Even though he wore a mask, I can recognize him—it’s him!"
