Looking at Mi Xi's worried face, Yousi's expression suddenly froze, involuntarily recalling the tragic memory of almost being served at the table.

"...They've all turned into the Guardian Clan, how do you still remember that?"

"Because, because, it was really scary, Mi Xi thought Yousi would never come back. If Queen Cathy were brought to the table too, the respected Lord Demon King might take his anger out on Yousi..."

At the thought of the terrifying methods of the Demon King, Yousi's confident expression instantly crumbled, and beads of sweat as large as raindrops dripped onto the ground.

"I-I never said I wouldn't go... It's time to go, Yousi!"

Dare not delay any longer, Yousi's wings behind him shook violently, turning his whole being into a black streak of light rushing to the sky, fearing being a second too late.

Mi Xi closely followed Yousi, flying towards the northern forest.

Rising with her into the sky were companions lurking in the shadows around the outpost, densely packed little demons forming a cloud masking the moonlight above.

They were like a bloodthirsty bat swarm whistling in the night sky, silently skimming over the treetops, casting the shadow of death onto the earth.

Meanwhile, not far off in the forest, the pale moonlight illuminated the bloody battlefield.

Sitting gracefully on the slender tree trunk, Queen Cathy lazily gazed over the ground, her supple legs elegantly crossed.

Her shoulder-length crimson hair danced slightly in the night wind, and beneath her neatly cut bangs were enchanting red eyes, exuding an eerie charm.

Under the scallion-white moonlight lay dozens of Plague Tooth Assassins' corpses, each Ratman in a terrifying death pose.

These were the most robust warriors from the Rot Clan, each refined through cruel selection and poison quenching, with a minimum strength of Bronze Level, and the leader even reaching Silver Rank.

If executing assassination tasks, even if the target were a Gold Level powerhouse, they maintained the confidence for a kill-and-escape strike.

Yet now, faced with Queen Cathy's ocean-like Spiritual Magic, the most elite assassins of the Rot Clan were suppressed without any chance to retaliate!

The sole remaining Ratman Assassin half-kneeled on the ground, blood oozing from his mouth and nose yet still staring fixedly at the terrifying figure on the treetop.

He panted heavily, baring his mouthful of sharp teeth, his voice becoming shrill and piercing due to fear.

"You... are a Demon from Hell?! Why is Hell intervening in Ratmen's affairs?! We do not interfere with each other!"

"Hell? Ratmen? I don't understand what you're saying."

Queen Cathy casually dug her ear with a pinky finger, then tilted her head, revealing a naive yet cruel smile on her face.

"I only know there's a bunch of arrogant little mice, so unaware of their doom, daring to challenge my Majesty."

"Majesty?! Which Majesty?" The Ratman Assassin's pupils shrank, swiftly searching his brain to analyze who exactly the opponent was.

However, the Ratmen's understanding of humans and vice versa was largely similar.

No matter how much he racked his brains, he couldn't figure out who had targeted them, or why.

"That's not important."

Queen Cathy smiled lightly, the crimson murderous intent in her eyes nearly overflowing.

"Since you think I'm from Hell, wouldn't you find out after you die and ask down there? If you have the chance to go down... But before that, you'd better confess who sent you here? Otherwise, I guarantee you'll experience what it means to be better off dead."

A hint of terror appeared on the Plague Tooth Assassin's face, the demon's strength so daunting it made him despair.

If death was inevitable either way...

Driven by desperation, he suddenly raised his front paw, revealing the exquisite short crossbow hidden under his wrist armor.

"Die now—!"

Bang!

A quick, soft sound, a toxified dark green crossbow arrow tore through the air, straight toward Queen Cathy on the treetop.

As the crossbow arrow was about to pierce the petite head, but in the next second, it passed through without hindrance, pinning itself on the tree trunk behind her.

The missed arrowhead trembled lightly like a cicada wing, producing a sizzling corrosive sound on the tree trunk struck by the crossbow arrow.

"?!"

The Ratman Assassin's eyes widened in shock, cursing as he screamed "Damn demon!", tossed the short crossbow, and turned to flee.

He erupted with his life's fastest speed, using both hands and feet, just like a true rat, crazily weaving through the forest, the wind howling in his ears.

If only he could rush out of this forest!

If only he could reach the hiding cave in the deep mountains!

Not even a demon—

Even the Sword Saint couldn't touch him!

Sharp Teeth Kuirik was utterly confident!

However, not knowing how long he fled, when he stopped in exhaustion, he was startled to find himself back at the starting point.

The familiar short crossbow lay on the ground, and nearby stood the tree he had shot, along with the crossbow arrow wedged into its trunk.

He had gotten lost?!

In panic and confusion, he stumbled over an exposed tree root, fell heavily to the ground, rolling several times before halting.

Brushing off the branches and decayed leaves from his eyes, he cursed while opening them, only to find himself back at the starting point again.

He swallowed a mouthful of saliva, the chilling sensation crawled up his spine, making his limbs feel as cold as if soaked in an icehouse.

Everything in front of him felt so unreal, akin to a nightmare.

Yet, the illusory pain in his knees and the nearly exploding sensation in his chest were so real; he gasped for breath while running for a long time in the forest.
