All the ancient beings in existence at once received the revelation of the new World Tree being named.

The name Kalpataru flashed in their heads.

These beings didn’t only include the Dragons who were yet to meet Reina but also the beings of the forsaken world.

The awakened two had already felt this new Dragon’s existence but now with a feat this huge, this young Dragon was bound to create bigger waves from now. So, soon enough it would time for them to make their move as well and they had a perfect plan already set into motion for that.

The funeral for Katherine was going to be held but Roger was worried about the fact of how the people would react to this. They wouldn’t even want to see Carlos or Colette anywhere which was why the letter that he had in his hand had become a great source of headache for him.

It was a letter that the young Master of the Ryujin family had sent him on behalf of Ocean and while the contents of the letter assured him that Ocean was away and recuperating but he had been in contact and had already given instructions on what was to be done in his absence and one of those instructions involved having Carlos to go out with Eric and Alys to aid the places which were damaged.

Roger strongly believed that this was a wrong move from Ocean’s side parading Carlos outside beside Eric and Alys would only act as a contrast because Carlos was an eyesore to the people even before Katherine’s truth had been revealed but now that everything was out in the open, it would be a miracle if Carlos wouldn’t be mauled to death by a mob if he were to go around people. But he also knew that having the three royal kids sitting out while the kingdom was repairing itself would affect the morale altogether and having only Eric and Alys go out would clearly mean attacking Esmertia, Carlos and Colette.

Neither option was good, but having Carlos accompany Eric and Alys might be considered the lesser damaging option so, after having a long thought, Roger sent a letter to Ryujin mansion allowing this arrangement. And despite everything, Ocean had already assured him that Carlos’s respsonsibility would be his.

The Princes were to return to the royal palace soon so the arrangements for their return and also of the charity work that they would carry out in the name of the royal family was also to be done. Roger sighed and gave the orders to his aide before he leaned back in his chair, wondering what Colette was up to at this moment, it was good that she hadn’t come out of her room since that day, he was worried that everything might just fall apart now that the people knew of Katherine’s true face. At this point, only Eric and Alys were the pillars that could save the royal family.

After receiving the letter from the King, Kai met up with Eric, Carlos, Alys and Silas along with Drac and Sir Hopkins who had gathered in the dining hall of Ryujin mansion for lunch.

Kai naturally sat on the seat of the head of the family with Ocean absent and Asher, Remi and Lyall standing behind him.

"Good afternoon everyone," he greeted the gathered people politely before he started in the crisp and clear tone as Ocean led the meetings.

"As you all must be aware that Master had asked for both of Your Highnesses," he looked at Eric and Carlos, "to return to the royal palace and go out to the damaged places."

Eric and Carlos nodded and then Kai turned his head to look at Alys, "If you are uncomfortable, Master has told that you can choose to not go, Princess."

Alys shook her head, "I’m fine, I’ll go."

Kai gave her a nod before he glanced at Drac and Sir Hopkins, "Lord Raymond and Sir Hopkins you will be primary guards for the Princes and as for Princess Alys," He looked at her, "Would you like a knight from Ryujin family, athough there would be a guard team there but just in case?"

Alys opened her mouth to speak but Silas beat her to it, "I’ll be with her."

Alys simply smiled at that as if that was an enough answer and Kai nodded as he started cutting the meat on his plate.

"We are going with the narrative that Her Majesty was suffering from a mental illness since the past few days and that’s what led to her joining the Dark Forces," Kai said, hearing the cutlery of the others moving as well.

"So, while the objective when you are outside is to ease the people, you would also need to change Prince Carlos’s image a little for the people to not ostracise him." Kai spoke before he chewed.

Lyall observed the young master who sat at the head of the table, he had an almost identical look as Ocean which could easily make anyone believe that he was the biological son of Ocean and now that he was speaking, it was no doubt that he had adopted every last habit of Ocean. The tone to use, the words to speak even the way to hold himself was all seemed like it had been watered down from Ocean as is.

But there was a subtle difference, Ocean’s elegance seemed to hide the shadow of a beast while Kai was using the elegance of this beast, wearing the authority while Ocean only ever acted in a suggestive manner around it.

Lyall knew that Ocean had purposely brought Kai along to every meeting since he was young for this very purpose but to see the young man step into the shoes of the Ryujin family head was a completely different feeling, a few more years and it would be hard to discern who was the real Ocean among these two.

"Prince Carlos," Kai spoke.

Carlos looked up at Kai who hadn’t lifted his eyes from his plate.

"Have you sent the letter to Duke Esmertia?"

"Yes, I did yesterday." Carlos answered.

"Master sent a message that he would be back by tomorrow," Kai informed and while Carlos flinched, the other’s seemed relieved.

"That’s a relief," Alys beamed, looking genuinely relieved for the first time since she entered the dining hall.

"Is he all right now?" Eric asked, "Come to think of it, Prince Davian is also there, isn’t he?"

Kai’s expression changed for a split second before he schooled it back to his professional face, "Yes, he is. He will be returning with Master."

Nobody said anything to that and the lunch was wrapped up quickly. Once everyone left, Kai released a huge sigh with Asher, Lyall and Remi accompanying him to the office.

"How was it? Was I like Master?" Kai asked, the boyish expression returned to his face.

"Yes, you were exactly like Master back there- even the way you spoke. It was like I was seeing Master himself." Remi spoke with a smile.

"It’ll be hard to tell the difference between you two when you come of age, Young Master," Asher spoke with a hint of smile.

Kai grinned and then looked at Lyall, Lyall glanced at him, among everyone else in the mansion, he was the only one who had been by Ocean’s side the longest.

"Master will be proud of you." He spoke and Kai’s eyes grew brighter.

Lyall didn’t point out the difference that he had spotted because that difference was what would help develop Kai’s perspective, he didn’t need to be an exact replica of Ocean but someone who could act on his own after Ocean.

"Oh, by the way, how’s Roan?" Kai stopped and looked at Remi.

Remi froze, his cheeks and ears turning red. He had managed to escape the room before Roan woke up and left Enora to deal with him while he volunteered to attend Kai.

Roan as expected had thrown a tantrum to return to the office and Kai had to personally go to the room and scold Roan to finally give in and stay in bed until he recovered.

"He-He’s still in his room resting." Remi answered, avoiding everyone’s eyes while Asher noticed it.

"He can be so reckless at times," Kai sighed, "But why are you here though, Remi? Weren’t you looking after him?"

Remi shook his head, "Mrs Jones and the other maids are there so, I can do my other chores, Young Master."

"Hm? But you were tending to him last night, weren’t you?" Asher asked.

Kai gave Remi a long stare while Remi tried his best to appear calm, Lyall and Asher also naturally watched Remi. Cold sweat dripped down Remi’s back and he felt his brain starting to turn into mush as everything from the other night flashed vividly in his head.

Remi felt his eyes spinning as the steam rose from the top of his head so, he chose the only option.

"I-I just remembered I had some work, I’ll leave first!"

Remi scurried away.

Kai and Asher clicked their tongues.

"Something must have happened last night." Asher muttered.

"He’s too obvious." Kai sighed before he looked at Asher.

"Ah, Asher, how about you and Rose though? The date of your marriage is fixed, right? Till when will your family be here from Denril?"

Asher’s cheeks dusted faint pink as he smiled, "The date is fixed to be after the Spring Ball, though with what’s happening I think maybe we should postpone it-"

"Absolutely not!" Kai almost shouted.

"Why are you postponing your wedding? In fact, it is because that such a huge incident passed by now that we can celebrate properly. Your wedding is just what our side needs right now after everything, so don’t even think of postponing. And even Master won’t agree to this, right Mr Lyall?"

Lyall nodded in agreement while Asher scratched the back of his head, his marraige talks have been going for a long time now and finally it was only a month left for it. He had been saving money and also making preparations going back and forth with his duties at Ryujin mansion and also keeping in touch with his family in Denril.

It was like a dream come true for Asher who always thought that he would end up alone in his life without his family ever accepting him or finding someone who could love him. But now he had both and he was grateful for pushing on despite everything.
