"We will need to monitor his condition throughout the night so, someone needs to stay here." The physician said glancing at Remi and the maid.

Remi looked at Roan before he hummed, "I’ll stay then,"

"Oh, I can stay if you want Mr Remi." The maid, Carol offered.

"No, you’re already in charge of your night rounds, go ahead. I’ll look after him." Remi said.

Carol shrugged with a smile and then left with the Doctor.

Remi stayed behind, standing in his spot for a moment before he sighed running his hand through his short brown locks. Remi turned the lamps in the room off and only opened the curtains to let the moonlight in.

He then made his way over to the side of Roan’s bed, and grabbed an armchair to sit down. Remi was about to sit down when he heard the sound of a knock.

He wondered who it could be this late and opened the door to find Carol there with a tray carrying a large bowl of water and a few towels.

"Since Mr Roan’s fever is high, I thought this could help." She said and Remi nodded taking the tray from her.

She smiled, glancing at the bed before she inclined her head slightly and then walked away.

Remi placed the tray on the table, pulling it close to the bed as well and then glanced at Roan’s face. It was flushed bright red, hair all messed up and sticking to his forehead, his red eyebrows scrunched up.

Remi plopped down on the edge of the bed and brushed away Roan’s bangs. Roan groaned softly before leaning into Remi’s hand.

"Cold... feels nice." He mumbled.

"How can you be so juvenile? You’re Master’s aide, for God’s sake, Roan." Remi mumbled.

Remi then drenched the fresh towel in the cold water before he wringed it and placed it over Roan’s forehead.

Remi sat there quietly, watching Roan’s sleeping face. It was a rare sight to see this man looking so vulnerable, sure Remi had defeated him in their spars a few times but watching him sleeping like this was a completely different sight.

Remi almost found him adorable.

The thought made Remi frown as he mumbled, "What part of this brute is adorable?"

He glanced at Roan’s large hand which was covered in scars.

"Look at him, he looks more like mountain bandit." He grumbled and then reached out and pinched Roan’s cheek.

"He’s foolish, jumpy and doesn’t dry his hair after bathing. How juvenile!" Remi tugged at Roan’s cheek.

Roan groaned having his cheek assaulted out of nowhere while Remi continued grumbling.

Out of everyone in the household, Roan was the only person that was from Mordino like Remi so, Remi had a sort of kinship feeling for him but watching him being so competent and yet act so, dumb was a little unsatisfying.

But then again, it also made him more human. He was a human with flaws but still was able to work hard to not let anyone down.

Remi squished Roan’s surprisingly soft cheeks and then narrowed his eyes noticing Roan’s sharp facial features.

"What’s the point of being handsome if you’re going to be stupid enough to starve yourself for the sake of work?"

Roan groaned again before it seemed like he’d had it enough as he grabbed Remi’s wrist and yanked it hard enough to have the lanky young man fall face first onto the pillow while Roam wrapped his arms and legs around him.

Remi was taken aback as he was suddenly grabbed, he groaned and then tried to wriggle out but Roam tightened his grip burying his face into Remi’s neck.

"What on earth?!" Remi grumbled as he tried to get out of Roan’s grasp but then froze as he heard Roan’s groan.

Remi sighed and then shivered slightly as he felt the cold, wet touch over his neck. He managed to free his arm and groped over to his neck and grabbed the wet towel before taking it out. He sighed as he lay there wondering why he had messed around in the first place.

Roan was physically stronger than him so, getting out of his grip without waking him was unlikely.

"Mr Roan," Remi decided to try regardless, "let me go."

There was only a soft sigh that came as a response and Remi let his head fall on the pillow feeling Roan’s feverish body heat seep into his as they were pressed together.

It was almost comfortable save for Roan’s thick and heavy limbs.

Remi lay still hoping some time in the night Roam might change his position and then he could get out. The minutes ticked by and Remi started feeling sleepy, he had almost dozed off when he heard Roan mumbling something in his sleep.

Remi blinked several times and turned his head, feeling Roan’s hot breath over his neck making his hackles rise.

"What... are you saying?" Remi wondered and Roan mumbled again. It almost seemed like he was calling someone’s name.

Remi hummed, "Are you dreaming of some beautiful lady or something?"

Roan grumbled and squeezed Remi’s waist, pressing his face into Remi’s neck.

"Master..."

Remi blinked and then frowned moving his eyes to look at Roan.

"Hey, you’re crushing over our Master?" Remi asked.

"Master..." Roan groaned again.

Remi was among the handful few who knew of their Master Ocean’s true identity, Ocean Ryujin was a mask for the young noble lady of Duke Aurelius’s family, Reina Aurelius and she was five years younger than himself and around ten years younger than Roan. Moreover, it was obvious that she and Davian were going to be together so, what was Roan thinking calling for her in such a yearning tone while he was sickly?!

Remi twisted and turned and somehow after a great physical endurance managed to turn himself to face Roan.

He grabbed Roan’s jaw and spoke, "Hey, wake up."

Roan’s eyes remained closed.

"I said wake up, Roan. Why are you calling Master’s name in your sleep? Don’t you know that Master is-"

"Master..." Roan groaned again and Remi felt the veins in his neck and forehead bulge, he was about to tug at Roan’s cheeks again.

"...when are you coming back?..."

Remi stopped himself and stared at Roan’s face, his eyebrows were scrunched and there was almost a pitiful expression on his face. It almost melted Remi’s heart, almost.

"I need a vacation." Roan groaned and Remi sighed with relief.

"You big oaf," Remi muttered and Roan’s eyes suddenly opened.

Remi was stunned for a moment that he froze without moving a muscle, even his hand that held Roan’s jaw stayed in its place.

Roan’s eyes were dazed and glistened with vulnerability. He stared at Remi intently without saying anything and Remi racked his brain to look for a reason to explain to Roan as to why he was in the bed with him.

But it wasn’t like he was at a fault here, it was Roan who pulled him in!

"Um... Mr Roan-" Remi started but then Roan sighed.

"It’s you again." Roan said.

Remi blinked, he didn’t understand why Roan would say that.

"What do you-"

"It’s unfair enough that you’re so dumb but then you also have to crash into my dreams like this."

Remi felt the vein pop into his forehead as he heard that.

"Who’s dumb?"

Roan gazed softened even more making Remi’s anger blow away as a small, almost dreamy looking smile appeared on Roan’s face. Remi for a moment forgot to breath.

"Still... I wanted to see you..." Roan said as he brought his hand up to Remi’s face.

The back of his fingers gently brushed over Remi’s cheekbone, his skin was hot which made Remi feel like his own skin was starting to heat up. It was a strange feeling, Remi felt his heart starting to beat loudly as the tickling feeling rose from the pit of his stomach.

Remi tried his best to keep his cool as he asked, "You wanted to see me?"

Roan hummed as an answer and Remi asked, "Why?"

"What? Why?" Roan asked, the smile still intact, "do I have to tell you everything every time? Can’t you figure it out just once?"

Remi frowned, "Um... I think you’ve got the wrong person."

Roan’s expression didn’t change as he breathed, "Remi..."

Remi felt his face almost exploding with heat while his heart thudded loudly in his ears.

"My Remi..." Roan mumbled before his eyes slid closed and he gently tugged Remi closer, pressing his face into the crook of Remi’s throat.

Remi was at a loss for words, he couldn’t think straight. His body was so hot at this moment that he wondered if it was really Roan’s fever or had he himself gotten feverish and had that strange dream. Surely, Roan was never this handsome and he wouldn’t call Remi’s name in that tone.

Remi glanced down at the mop of fiery red hair that now was tickling at his chin, he had never expected to end up in this state ever. He always saw himself working at Ryujin mansion till his old age, not thinking much about marriage or anything unless Ocean suggested it. But to have someone say something so suggestive and a man at that- Roan of all the people. Remi had no idea what to think of it.

Besides, did he even get the right idea here? What if Roan’s words had another meaning? What if he was meaning to say something else and Remi misunderstood? But then again, what if it was true?

Could he thinks seriously about Roan? That kind of relationship with another man... Remi had no idea how he could take this, he needed to talk to someone. He was tempted to forget about it all, making it seem like this conversation never happened.

But then Roan’s smiling face flashed before Remi’s mind and he felt his face growing hot again.

"D-Damn you!" He groaned as he buried his face into Roan’s hair.
