The Hidden Luna of Blackmoor Valley
Chapter 350 Pushing through
Chapter 350: Chapter 350 Pushing through
Kaelen’s pov
I thought about the weakness, about the helplessness, about the way I had felt when I could not protect Talia.
I remembered the way she had looked at me when the silver was burning me. The fear in her eyes, and the desperation in her voice. She had been so afraid that she was going to lose me, and I had been so afraid that I was going to let her down.
I would not feel that way again. I would not be weak again, and I would not let her down again.
I attacked harder, and faster, and my sword moved in a blur.
I felt the silver burning through my veins, and I felt the weakness spreading through my limbs. But I did not stop. I could not stop as I thought about the battle that was coming, about the wolves who were counting on me, about the woman I loved. I would not let them down.
I swung my sword with everything I had, and I saw Cain’s eyes widen. He was not expecting this, and he was not expecting me to push this hard.
I saw Cain stepping back. He blocked my strikes, but I could see the surprise in his eyes. I was pushing him, and he had not expected it.
"Alpha," he said. "You are fighting like you have something to prove."
I looked at him, and I felt the determination rising in my chest. "Because I do." I replied.
He nodded, and I saw the understanding in his eyes. He had been there, he had seen the Ashen lands, and he had seen the silver. He knew what I had been through, and he knew what I was fighting for.
"Then prove it," he said. "Show me what you have."
I raised my sword, and I attacked with everything I had. The silver was burning through my veins, and I could feel the weakness spreading through my limbs. But I did not stop. I pushed harder, and faster, and I felt the power surging through me.
We fought for hours, and I felt the silver burning through my veins with every move. But I did not stop. I could not stop, because the silver was a weakness, but it was not the end. It was just another obstacle to overcome.
Cain stepped back, and I saw the respect in his eyes.
He lowered his sword, and I saw the pride in his eyes. "You have come a long way, Alpha. I remember when you could barely hold a sword because of the silver. And now look at you."
I looked at my hands, at the red welts that were slowly fading. "I still have a long way to go."
He shook his head. "You have come further than you know."
"Pain is temporary, Alpha," he said. "Losing is not."
I looked at him, and I felt the weight of his words, because he was right. The silver would always be a weakness, it would always burn, and it would always remind me of what I could not do. But I could not let it be an excuse, and I could not let it stop me from protecting the people I loved.
"I know," I said.
He nodded. "Then fight like you know it."
I raised my sword, and I attacked. I felt the silver burning through my veins, and I felt the weakness spreading through my limbs. But I did not stop. I pushed harder, faster, and I felt the power surging through me.
I lunged, and Cain blocked. I attacked again, and he stepped back. I pushed harder, and faster, and I saw the respect in his eyes. He was proud of me, and he believed in me.
"Alpha," he said. "You are ready."
I looked at him, and I felt the determination settling in my chest. "I know."
I lowered my sword, and I looked at the sky. The sun was setting, and the battle was coming. It would not be easy, and it would not be painless. But I was ready, and I would fight through the pain, and I would not lose.
Cain walked to me, and I felt his hand on my shoulder. "The silver will always be a weakness, Alpha. But it is not who you are. You are stronger than it. You always have been."
I looked at him, and I felt the gratitude swelling in my chest. "Thank you, Cain. For pushing me, and for never giving up on me."
He nodded, and I saw the respect in his eyes. "You are my Alpha, Kaelen. I will always be by your side."
I looked at the sky, and I felt the determination burning in my chest.
Cain stood beside me, and I felt his hand on my shoulder. "We will win this, Alpha. I know we will."
I looked at him, and I felt the gratitude swelling in my chest. "How do you know?"
He smiled, and I saw the certainty in his eyes. "Because we have you, Alpha. And we have Luna Talia. That is more than enough."
The battle was coming, but I was ready.
