The Hidden Luna of Blackmoor Valley
Chapter 343 Talia The leader
Chapter 343: Chapter 343 Talia The leader
Kaelen’s POV
I stood at the back of the great hall, and I watched her speak.
The torchlight flickered across her face, and I saw the fire in her eyes. Talia was standing in front of the allied packs, with her voice steady, and her shoulders straight.
She was not the girl I had first seen in Cresswood, she was something more.
I remembered the first time I saw her. She was standing in that crowded hall, with her head down, and her shoulders hunched. She looked small and frightened, like she was trying to disappear. But even then, I had seen something in her eyes. Something fierce, and something that would not be broken.
And now, she was standing in front of hundreds of wolves, telling them she was not afraid. I watched her face, and I saw the fire burning in her eyes. She was not pretending, and she was not putting on a show. She was speaking the truth, and they could feel it.
I watched her, and I remembered the girl from the storage room.
I remembered the way she had looked at me that first night, with her eyes filled with fear and defiance.
I remembered the way she had fought through the trials, the way she had refused to give up, and the way she had never stopped believing. I remembered the way she had faced Malachai’s guards, the way she had broken silver with her own blood, and the way she had walked through the Ashen Lands and come out the other side.
Talia was not the same girl. She had become something more than a warrior. She was a leader, and a Luna.
I felt the pride swelling in my chest. She was my mate, she was my equal, and she was everything.
I watched her speak, and I felt the truth settling in my chest.
She was a leader, and she was not just my mate, and she was not just the Luna of Shadowfang. She was a leader of wolves, a leader of packs, and a leader of hope.
I had seen her grow, I had seen her fall and rise again, and I had seen her face her fears and overcome them. And now, I was watching her lead.
I remembered the first time she had used her Silvertongue magic. The way her voice had carried power I had never heard before, the way Alpha Stone had frozen, unable to move, and the way everyone in the room had stared at her in shock. She had been afraid then, but she had not run. She had faced it.
And now, she was facing an army.
I heard her voice rising, and I felt the power in her words. "We will not give up," she said. "We will not surrender, and we will not let him win."
I felt the love swelling in my chest, and I was proud of the fact that I had the privilege of meeting her.
I heard footsteps beside me, and I turned to see Jax standing there. He was watching Talia with a grin on his face.
"You know, Alpha," Jax said, his voice light but sincere. "I have seen a lot of things in my time. I have seen battles, I have seen betrayals, and I have seen miracles. But watching her up there? That might be the most beautiful thing I have ever seen."
I looked at him, and I saw the genuine admiration in his eyes. "She is something else."
Jax nodded slowly. "She is, Alpha. She is something else entirely."
Silas walked up beside us, with his calm eyes fixed on Talia. He was quiet for a moment, and then he spoke.
"You struck gold, Alpha," Silas said, and his voice was filled with respect. "The Moon Goddess herself must have been watching over you when she brought Talia into your life."
I looked at him, and I felt the warmth spreading through my chest. "I know, Silas. I know."
Silas nodded. "She is not just a Luna, Alpha. She is a leader, she is hope, and she is everything this pack needs." He paused, and I saw the rare smile on his face. "And she is yours. That is a gift few wolves ever receive."
Jax grinned, and I saw the playful gleam in his eyes. "And to think, you almost ended up with Celeste. Can you imagine? You would have been miserable."
I shook my head, and I felt the smile spreading across my face. "Do not remind me."
Jax laughed. "I am just saying, Alpha. You dodged a silver bullet. And you landed on a diamond."
I looked at Talia, at the fire in her eyes, and I felt the love in my chest. "I know, Jax. I know exactly what I have."
I watched her speak, and I felt the truth settling in my chest. She was everything I had ever wanted, and everything I had never known I needed.
The hall erupted in cheers, and I watched her face.
She was smiling, but I could see the exhaustion behind her eyes. She had been through so much, and she had given so much. And she was still standing, and giving hope, and cheering everyone up from their fears.
I watched the Alphas stand and pledge their loyalty to her. I watched Alpha Stone bow his head, I watched Alpha Thornwood step forward, with his voice grudging but sincere, and I watched the other Alphas follow, one by one. I watched the wolves cheering her name, with their voices rising like a wave.
She had done what no one else could do. She had brought them together, and she had given them hope.
The cheers faded, and the hall grew quiet again.
I watched her turn, and I saw her eyes searching for me. When she found me, I saw the relief on her face. She had done it. She had faced the packs, and she had won.
I walked toward her, and I pulled her into my arms. "You did it," I whispered.
She shook her head against my chest. "We did it, Kaelen."
I pulled back, and I looked into her eyes. "No," I said. "You did it. You are a leader, Talia. You are my equal, and you are my everything."
She looked at me, and I saw the tears in her eyes. "I could not have done it without you."
I pressed my lips to her forehead. "You will never have to."
Talia had made my life so much better since I met her, and I did not have to be a cold Alpha anymore because of her warmth, and shining light. I did not know how to put my gratitude into words, but I had to try.
I held her close, and I made a silent promise. I would follow her anywhere, I would fight beside her, I would protect her, and I would love her, forever.
Not just because she was my mate, but because she was my Luna, and she was my everything.
