Ling Feng pulled his bloodstained hand out from Chao Yun’s gory chest cavity. Earlier, using the Shennong Medical Technique, he had been unable to detect Chao Yun’s heart and thus reached his hand into Chao Yun’s wound again.

After feeling around for quite a while, he found all the organs there, except for the heart.

Only then did Ling Feng realize that the thing Chao Yue took earlier was indeed Chao Yun’s heart!

Ling Feng had no time to ponder why Chao Yue would do such a cruel thing to his own apprentice; he simply focused all his efforts on trying to heal Chao Yun. However, no matter how hard he tried, Chao Yun’s vital signs continued to decline.

Everything was signaling one thing:

Death!

Yet Ling Feng had not given up, because Chao Yun was still alive. As long as he had breath, Ling Feng believed he could bring him back.

Miraculously, Chao Yun suddenly came around slowly. He glanced at Ling Feng who was trying his best to save him and managed a weak smile:

"Ling Feng, there’s no need to waste your effort. I’m aware, I think I’m about to meet the founding master. I’ve already seen him."

Chao Yun’s eyes were already showing signs of effacing.

Ling Feng shouted angrily, "Wait a moment, you can’t die! Chao Yun, don’t die yet! Do you know what I saw that day?"

"I saw after you finished that set of punches, streaks of Eastern Purple Qi flying toward you. Do you know what this signifies? It’s a sign of celestial destiny!"

"Don’t you want to eradicate devils and demons to save the world? Trust me, hold on for now, you’ll become extraordinary in the future, more exceptional than anyone else!"

Chao Yun, however, slowly shook his head, "Ling Feng... I can’t, I’m about to leave... but there’s one thing I haven’t figured out..."

"Tell me, I’ll inform you..." Ling Feng’s eyes were slightly moist.

"I can’t understand why my master wants to kill me. He’s my master. If he wanted to kill me, why would he nurture me until now?"

Ling Feng was stunned, not knowing how to answer Chao Yun’s question; he simply poured out more of his Spiritual Power.

But Chao Yun had already slowly closed his eyes, still murmuring, "Why..."

Chao Yun’s body quickly turned cold. Ling Feng sat on the ground in disbelief, unable to accept that Chao Yun had suddenly died like this.

Though Shennong, the Medical Sage, was indeed powerful, he couldn’t create a heart out of thin air, nor could he revive someone on the brink of death like Chao Yun.

Ling Feng’s hands were covered with blood, and in his memory, it had been a long time since he felt so helpless and defeated.

Ling Feng stared blankly at Chao Yun’s corpse, not even realizing when Jian Mu returned.

Jian Mu looked at the tragically deceased Chao Yun, shaking his head and sighing, "Tsk tsk tsk, what a tragic death. Just seeing your hands, you must have tried to save this little Taoist too, right?"

"It’s all pointless; the Time Artifact has already left the body. How could he live as a container? Poor little Taoist, died without knowing how or why his master turned against him."

"Pitiful and pathetic humans..."

"Boom!" A powerful aura emerged from Ling Feng, akin to a tangible force, making Jian Mu and beasts like Fei Pa nearly topple over.

Ling Feng slowly stood up:

Kai Tian, God Slayer Saber, and Blade of the Apocalypse simultaneously flew out, hovering above Ling Feng’s head.

Giant Python Little Hei, Ancestor of Insects Little Fei, Jin Gang, Little Chong, and Little Jin all emerged from the Jade Pendant, revealing their true forms, with phantom beasts towering on each side of Ling Feng.

Finally, Ling Feng turned around slowly, the Chaos Sword of unparalleled might already in his hand. The originally faint phantom of the Chaos Sword now appeared slightly clearer, almost tangible.

Ling Feng didn’t notice the change in his long-coveted Chaos Sword; he just coldly stared at Jian Mu and Fei Pa, who were too scared to speak, and said with forceful pauses:

"Tell me the truth, otherwise I’ll make you wish you were never born!"

The newly renowned Sword Saint of the Devil Clan and prodigy Jian Mu at that moment had no desire to fight, nor the courage to draw his Treasured Sword. He trembled, staring at Ling Feng:

"Don’t act rashly; I came back precisely to prepare to tell you the truth. I know you aren’t from this world."

Hearing these words, Ling Feng instantly calmed down, retracting the three Sacred Weapons and the major Spirit Pets, leaving only the Chaos Sword.

Ling Feng casually sat on the ground, even arrogantly closing his eyes to rest, quietly saying, "Go ahead, tell me the truth and how you discovered I’m not from this world."

Jian Mu and Fei Pa exchanged glances, hesitated for a long time, and finally decided to sit together in front of Ling Feng.

"Have they told you this world only consists of the Human Race and the Devil Clan? While they weren’t wrong, I must say, humans are the real inhumane monsters, while our Devil Clan are ’humans’ with humanity and flesh,"

"Humans cloak themselves in justice but engage in filthy acts full of deceit and robbery; hence, they exude a strong facade of hypocrisy,"

"I didn’t detect this smell from you, not to mention your strength. After transforming into a human, I always concealed my Devilish Qi in the Mortal World, and never once have I encountered a prodigy like you,"

"Therefore, I suspect you’re not from this world, though it’s merely a guess, not a certainty." Jian Mu cautiously glanced at Ling Feng, noting his lack of response, felt somewhat uneasy.

"What is the Time Artifact you mentioned just now?" Ling Feng asked calmly.

"That is a generic term for a type of Magic Artifacts, usable only by the Human Race, requiring allegiance. A Time Artifact can recognize only one master; it cannot be used by others,"

"Due to differing crafting methods, Time Artifacts can have varied effects. Some can heal rapidly, some can control foes as puppets, and some can even rewind time!"

"The miraculous effects of Time Artifacts stem from their extremely demanding crafting processes,"

"Crafters must sacrifice their entire cultivation to nourish the artifact, then place it in a special environment where it’s hammered for decades before taking form,"

"Given the complex manufacturing steps and stringent conditions, few are willing to dedicate themselves to such intricate crafting, rendering Time Artifacts very precious,"

"But clever humans always devise better ways to craft artifacts. They’ll first create the artifact’s embryo, then, before it loses its vitality, place it inside another living embryo,"

"Utilizing the essence and Spiritual Energy of living beings to nourish and hammer the artifact. Nonetheless, animal embryos are ineffective with short lifespans, leading humans to devise methods utilizing human embryos,"

"The infant hosting the artifact grows normally, aside from slower cultivation; once they mature and their body can no longer provide adequate Spiritual Energy for nourishment,"

"The crafter will ruthlessly extract the artifact, using their own Spiritual Energy for sustenance. However, as artifacts naturally migrate to the heart area, these containers usually meet one end,"

"Death!"

"And that little Taoist was such a container; his heart was the Time Artifact!"

Ling Feng’s eyes abruptly opened, surging with immense rage!
