The Greatest Village Doctor In The World
Chapter 2678 - 2677: Space Pirates
Ling Feng stood at the bow of the Ling Yun ship, taking out the scroll of the map handed to him by Bi Tian from his arms.
This map, indistinguishable from ordinary parchment, glowed faintly in the spacetime tunnel, appearing quite extraordinary.
Ling Feng shuttled back and forth in space according to the map’s directions.
Once the surrounding spatial fluctuations stabilized, Ling Feng set the Ling Yun ship to autopilot, and he himself sat at the bow, cultivating with the spatial rays constantly sweeping past him.
Ling Feng specifically took out the Chaos Sword and had it hover in front of him, comprehending the great Dao contained within the Chaos Sword.
Chaos emerged from the sword and stood by Ling Feng’s side, looking at the brilliant space tunnel ahead, and said lightly, "Now that you’ve embarked on the journey, I can’t dissuade you any longer..."
"I have no other way; only by going to the Three Realms can I find the method to control the Chaos Sword. Moreover, the God Race people have also invited me. If I don’t go, it would certainly be a blow to their face,"
"Then there will be endless troubles following. My personal safety is fine, but the civilians of the Vermilion Bird Kingdom cannot bear this disturbance. So many have died, and I can’t escape the blame..."
Ling Feng said calmly with his eyes closed, his voice void of any emotion.
"Alas," Chaos sighed, "Since things have come to this, we can only face the challenges."
Ling Feng nodded slightly, "Tell me more about the original owner of the Chaos Sword. I don’t know much about him yet."
Chaos was slightly dazed but eventually nodded and said, "The Giant Race was once brilliant, one of the top races in the universe. The legend says that the ancestor of the Giant Race was a great being who broke free from the cage,"
"Just like those in the Three Realms, they had the power to create worlds and establish supreme rules. However, after breaking free, he disappeared, and no one knows where he went,"
"My master was named Ying Tong, the undisputed strongest among the younger generation of the Giant Race. His talent was so high that some elders said he paralleled the great ancestor of the Giants,"
"The endless words of praise made my master somewhat conceited, but he soon encountered a bottleneck, his power beginning to stagnate,"
"This situation persisted for about fifty years, and the doubts and ridicule around him made it unbearable for my master, so he decisively went on a journey,"
"In a short time, he traversed almost every corner of the universe, steadily increasing his power. But what truly changed my master’s fate was his encounter with Yulinxun back then,"
"He was a miraculous man, and my master and he hit it off, training and growing together for over three hundred years. Finally, when they were about to part, Yulinxun confessed his identity to my master,"
"He turned out to be from the counter-sky Demon Clan, traveling to learn about the life of various races, but now he had to return. Before leaving, he gifted my master a magical treasure,"
Ling Feng asked with a sudden realization, "The Chaos Sword?"
"Exactly, back then, I hadn’t yet developed spiritual wisdom. These things were later told to me by my master. The Chaos Sword was a peerless divine weapon forged by the Demon Clan using their clan-protecting treasure—the Twilight Tears Furnace. It originally belonged to Yulinxun but was given to my master,"
"It’s said that my master also gave something to Yulinxun that day, but he never told me what it was." Chaos shook its head.
Ling Feng gently grasped the Chaos Sword in front of him, took a deep breath, and then tightened his grasp, "I didn’t expect this to be a divine weapon forged by the Demon Clan. Just what kind of beings are the counter-sky Demon Clan to have the ability to forge such a peerless divine weapon?"
For in Ling Feng’s impression, the Demon Clan were all enigmatic, ruthless, treacherous, and cunning, difficult to imagine that they could have the ability to forge such a powerful weapon.
"Even though I was forged by the counter-sky Demon Clan, I know very little about them. I only know that their ability to forge divine weapons is closely related to that Twilight Tears Furnace."
"Surely, it is a clan-protecting treasure!" Ling Feng sighed.
Though he didn’t know what it exactly was, anything capable of forging the Chaos Sword surely wasn’t ordinary.
"Bang—"
"Boom—"
Chaos still wanted to say more, but a loud explosion suddenly came, and the Ling Yun ship shook violently, causing Ling Feng’s body to nearly lose balance and fall.
Realizing the Ling Yun ship was under attack, Ling Feng immediately grabbed the Chaos Sword, and then Little Fei appeared in front of him. Ling Feng flipped onto Little Fei’s back, and Little Fei soared upwards, overlooking everything from above.
Numerous scout insects flew from Little Fei’s body, scouting for information ahead.
One after another black ship gradually emerged from large and small space rifts, one equipped with a turret, its current state engulfed in faint white smoke.
Ling Feng narrowed his eyes slightly; evidently, it was this ship that attacked the Ling Yun just now.
The black pirate skeleton flags on board were glaringly eye-catching.
No need to think further, Ling Feng had encountered space pirates.
Though he hadn’t traversed space tunnels often, Ling Feng had heard some about this infamous gang of robbers.
Like the pirates and bandits on Earth, they would lurk in space seas, waiting for passing ships. Some were passenger vessels, others were merchant ships, but as long as there was profit, they would come out in force to attack.
They damage ships with cannons or disruptors and then board to hijack the crew, looting when the opportunity arises, and if fortunate, only a toll would be required.
If unlucky, everything valuable would be plundered, and lives could even be lost.
Watching the approaching ships, Ling Feng shook his head. Actually, if this band of desperados had only asked for a toll upfront, Ling Feng would have paid it.
But since they attacked the Ling Yun ship from the get-go, they broke the rules, and Ling Feng definitely wasn’t the timid type; of course, he would retaliate tit for tat!
Ling Feng waved his hand, transmitting his intent to the Ling Yun ship. Equipped with artificial intelligence, the Ling Yun ship immediately sensed its master’s thoughts.
The ship opened several windows, and silver precision energy cannons extended from the windows, targeting the pirate ships.
"Fire the cannons!" Ling Feng said indifferently.
"Bang bang bang!"
Eighteen cannons fired in unison, three shots from each, totaling fifty-four shells flying toward the space pirate ships.
These were high-energy particle cannons specially developed by Ling Feng, not only with immense power but also top-notch in firing speed and travel velocity!
"Boom—" The energy cannon hit the pirate ship, rapidly disintegrating the hull. Crime scattered down, with human figures falling from the ship, descending into the Netherworld Void.
"Activate the secondary defense shield!" Ling Feng ordered again.
A layer of blue light spread out from the bottom of the Ling Yun ship, gradually covering the entire ship.
This secondary defense shield was even sturdier than the always-on third-tier defense shield. The pirates’ cannon had hit the third-tier shield just now, causing vibrations Ling Feng felt, but the hull wasn’t heavily damaged.
Now, with the secondary defense activated, common weapon attacks wouldn’t even register as vibrations.
The pirates’ ship had already caught fire due to the high temperatures of the energy cannon. From above, Ling Feng could see the pirates trying to save their ship.
Ling Feng smiled slightly, "Three more shots!"
"Yes!" The Ling Yun ship responded.
Another fifty-four energy cannon shells flew out, this time smashing the pirate ships to pieces, leaving the people barely hanging on. It wouldn’t be long before they got lost in space whirlpools after losing their ships.
They didn’t even know what kind of person they had provoked, not even having exchanged a single face-to-face before the entire fleet was annihilated.
Watching the ships breaking into fragments and the robbers being hit by the aftermath of the energy cannon, Ling Feng’s eyes showed no mercy. These pirates had looted countless passing ships, killed numerous innocents, and these were the penalties they deserved.
"Help! Save me!" A faint voice drifted over from the distant ship, reaching Ling Feng’s ears.
"Master, it seems someone is calling for help, and it doesn’t seem to come from the pirates over there." Little Fei reported, as most of the scout insects it sent out had returned.
Ling Feng furrowed his brow slightly, could there be innocent hostages aboard the pirate ship?
After a moment of thought, Ling Feng decided to take a look.
Little Fei swiftly carried Ling Feng to the pirate ship, and following the information left by the scout insects, Ling Feng quickly found a cage.
Smoke had enveloped the cage, and after dispersing the smoke, Ling Feng was somewhat stunned.
Inside the cage lay a woman in a white robe, and even more astonishingly, the woman had a pair of cat ears on her head!
