THE GOD EATER

Chapter 1314: Generous Philanthropist.

He wasn’t being sarcastic or perfunctory with his suggestions because he really wanted to help them. As for why he wanted to help people he wanted to kill create a better cultivation system, it’s because he’s always been a philanthropist.

All of his life, he has always had a vested interest in helping people and making the world a better place. Helping Wandering Thief was just one of the generous things he did to help the world. It was nothing special.

But Wandering Thief didn’t take his advice for granted. This unscrupulous thief appreciated his efforts and listened attentively to everything Loki had to say as if his words were gold.

After Loki was done, Wandering Thief sighed and said, "We thought it would be easy to do. After all, you did it, and you worked alone while there are three of us."

"We thought that three heads were better than one. But only when we started did we realize we were out of our league. It made us understand just how much of a genius you are."

Loki, who had cheated with the spark of power to create the Root of Power Core Metac, said without shame, "Oh, you’re too kind. I just had an inspiring guess."

"It was nothing special. Just luck," he said with pride.

"Seriously, how did you do it?" Wandering Thief asked him sincerely. "I swear on my Dao Heart to serve you forever and ever if you give us a workable method to use."

Loki hesitated a little bit to answer this question. He was hesitant partly because he knew this oath was bullshit and there was no way he could trust Wandering Thief.

The other reason he didn’t want to say anything was that he had actually cheated. So asking him to show his work for the problem he solved was asking a lot of him.

But he still wanted to help the three brothers create their cultivation system and steal it the way he stole the Root of Life from the Gemini, so he gritted his teeth and said, "You were right to say that the golden system belongs to another cultivation system."

He didn’t know that before, but it didn’t stop him from claiming it as the result of his research.

"I also discovered the traces of another cultivation system in my research. But instead of using the small piece of the picture I had to recreate the whole system, I decided to convert it into something I was familiar with."

"I mean, instead of trying to deduce what the other cultivation system was and how it operated, I decided to convert the golden seed into a Core Metac that I could control and use according to my Will."

"I went about it by converting the law fragments in the golden seed into law fragments of the Devouring Pathway. It was partially successful," he said, chuckling and pretending to reminisce about the experience as if it really happened.

"The conversion worked, but only halfway. I lost a lot of instructions and utility during the conversion, so the result wasn’t usable."

"After racking my brain about the problem for a while, I had the idea to use the crippled result I had to create a Core Metac. As it happened, I already had an incomplete Core Metac I was working on."

"It was this Core Metac called the Domain Power. It was meant to empower my disciples and help my sect compete with the Gemini. Unfortunately, I couldn’t quite get it to work."

"It was like I was missing something critical in the Domain Power Core Metac to make it work. I didn’t know what was missing, but everything clicked when I fused the two incomplete Core Metacs."

Shaking his head, he said, "And that’s how I managed to create the Root of Power Core Metac. It was just luck, which I am somewhat ashamed to admit."

The process of creating the Root of Power Core Metac didn’t happen like this, but he had a lot of experience working with the Root of Life Core Metac, so he could describe creating the Root of Power Core Metac as if he hadn’t cheated.

Wandering Thief seemed to buy it as the man was clapping and saying, "That’s genius."

"It is exactly like a genius to be blind to the work they did and say the result was luck. The fact that you had the idea to convert the piece of an unknown cultivation system into a known cultivation system is inspired. It is something only a genius could come up with."

He kept praising Ragnarok as if his life depended on it. As for whether his praise and compliments were genuine, no one could say at the moment.

’Talk is cheap, and it doesn’t hurt to heap praise on a target you’re about to rip off. In fact, it helps a lot in making the target pliable to your whims,’ Ragnarok thought cynically.

’Anyway, it is time to make this fellow pay a real price.’

With his mind made up, he said to Wandering Thief, "Can I get a copy of the Core Metac of your new cultivation system?"

"What did you call it again? The Power Packs," he said, snapping his fingers as if he just remembered the name and hadn’t memorized it.

"Yes, the Power Packs. I’d like to take a look at them to see if I can offer some useful suggestions."

"I would be happy to show you what we’ve achieved so far," Wandering Thief said, smiling.

He immediately told his brothers about it and wanted to take a copy of their work for Loki to see. But Nameless Fool stopped him.

Nameless Fool said, "I have a bad idea about this. I feel like if we let him see it, the name of Power Packs will belong to him, not us."

"But we can reverse time," War Mongerer said. "If we let him see it now and get his advice on it, we can always reverse time, and it will be like it never happened to him."
