THE GOD EATER
Chapter 1139: Another Kind Of Offer.
Instead of bothering with Heavenly Eye, he continued with what he intended to ask, saying, "About the invasion of Wandering Thief’s super world. I have some questions. When do we start, and how exactly do we get to force our pathway into the world?"
Unlike what he expected, instead of answering his questions, what he got was silence. The other nine Dao Lords and the Will of the world were silent for a while before someone spoke up to answer.
"We are not obligated to answer that question," Tepid Scholar said. "So you will have to find the answer yourself."
"I see," Loki said unperturbed.
Then he asked, "Is that what you all decided while talking behind my back?"
Heavenly Eye said in reply, "Don’t be paranoid. No one is talking about you behind your back."
But Martial Will said, "Yes. You have no hold over us, so we decided not to be helpful to you."
"I guess that’s fair," Loki said with a shrug.
Unwilling to give up, he sent a secret message to Sword Maestro saying, "How much for the information about forcefully implanting pathways into worlds by invading them? I want to buy it."
The Dao Lords were standing in his way, and he chose to advance through Sword Maestro because he seemed to be the most reasonable one among the Dao Lords. Plus, he didn’t think he had done much to offend this Dao Lord of the Sword Way Sect.
Fortunately, Sword Maestro didn’t disappoint him. He said to Loki, "I can sell the information to you. But it will cost you 5,000 years of divine crystals and 1,000 units of celestial gold."
Loki immediately balked, saying, "Do you take me for a fool? I don’t know the information, but I know it isn’t that valuable. You’re asking for too much."
"I know it is too much," Sword Maestro said with a smug voice. "But that’s the price I paid for my avatar."
"Plus, you’re desperate to have this information and have no other option. I am the only one who can have a deal with you."
Loki said, shaking his head, "Make it 100 years of divine crystals and 10 units of celestial gold. We will have a deal."
But Sword Maestro sneered and said, "Don’t bargain with me. You didn’t accept negotiations when you were auctioning my avatar, so don’t expect one now."
Upon seeing that the one he thought would be reasonable was being unreasonable, Loki said, "Let me think about it."
He said that while sending secret messages to other Dao Lords.
Unlike what Sword Maestro claimed, every Dao Lord was willing to sell the information to him. Even Harem King was open to doing it despite hating him, with a heart yearning for his death.
However, they all asked for exorbitant prices. They would say, "Clearly, you need this information badly, and I am the only one who will even negotiate with you on this matter."
Then they would ask for a price of up to 10,000 years of divine crystals and 2,000 units of celestial gold. So just as he initially thought, Sword Maestro was still the most reasonable one.
His reply to all of them was, "Let me think about it."
He already had a plan in mind to deal with their antics. But before executing it, he sent a message to the Will of the Blessed Heaven World.
He said, "Since you don’t need your nine Supreme Metacs anymore, can I buy them?"
"What do you need them for?" It asked skeptically.
This made Loki ask impatiently, "Are you selling them or not?"
After taking some time to think, the Will said, "I need the Supreme Metacs, actually. I need them for when I advance and become a Dao Lord. With these nine, I won’t have to worry about needing Supreme Metacs until I reach the rank of nine-star celestial."
Upon hearing this, Loki’s heart fell, and he thought to himself, ’Do I need to fight it again? My avatar is definitely no match for it in the lower realm. Only my true body can overpower it.’
’If I wait for it to advance, I might be able to ambush it and kill it. After all, a large world advancing can’t be hidden.’
’Just like I was exposed when I established my Divine Mountain, it should also be exposed. However, using that option would be too open.’
While he was working on contingencies for this refusal, he heard the Will of the world say, "However, I am ambitious."
"I don’t want to settle for Major Daos when there are better options to be had. So I am willing to sell them in exchange for Cosmic Daos and Grand Daos."
Loki immediately perked up when he heard this. He said, "Is that so? What is the rate of exchange?"
"Oh! I didn’t think you would be interested in my offer," The Will of the World said in surprise.
Loki immediately snorted and said, "I am not interested yet. I am just curious. My interest would depend on how reasonable your offer is."
The Will of the World knew that he was right. It was already surprised that Loki was willing to entertain the idea since no one would exchange a higher-grade Pathway for a lower-grade one.
To secure his interest, the Will of the Blessed Heaven World thought long and hard, struggling with itself before coming to a difficult decision.
It said, "I will sell three of my Major Daos for one Grand Dao and six of my Major Daos for one Cosmic Dao."
"This is robbery," Loki said even though he liked the deal. "You have to do better. Who will pick six Major Daos when they can have one Cosmic Dao?"
But the Will of the World insisted, saying, "That’s my best offer."
"How about this? I will give you one Cosmic Dao for all nine Major Daos?" Loki asked with a smile.
"That’s not the offer," came the swift and angry reply.
