Chapter 1032: Chapter 858: Coerced Confession

Ten Lords Chat Group.

Everyone is growing tired of Sela’s increasingly weak whimpering and has once again shifted their attention to the monster siege of Gem City and the supposed siege of the Count’s Mansion in Black Iron City.

It’s already 7 o’clock at night, precisely when the siege monsters are at their most formidable.

Soon, Raphael discovered something interesting: the siege monsters were almost exclusively being blasted to pieces by the heavy firepower of the NPC Mage defenders, in large groups no less, leaving players with no chance to grab any.

Previously, there were concerns that Gem City’s Mage players were too many, and that this benefit was too substantial. But now it seems there was no benefit at all, haha!

And the key discovery was that the NPC Mages were particularly flamboyant; they noticed that the monsters were numerous but not strong, and in order to snatch accolades, they performed various aerial stunts out of the city, directly turning the two kilometers around the city wall into a monster-free zone, making it even harder for players to snatch anything.

This also led Raphael to find a weakness: that is, as long as most of the NPC defenders go out, or exhaust their mana, then Judias can make his appearance.

Just as players were cursing, they were forced to follow the NPCs out of the city to try and snatch some scattered monsters. Raphael also dispatched troops out of the city; the goal was not to kill monsters, but to follow and record the NPC Mage actions, documenting their magic casts, compiling all recorded results into the tactical simulation system for repeated calculations...

At this moment, over the Arctic Ocean.

After a few hours of search by the Arctic fleet, the energy of numerous submersibles has been completely exhausted, but nothing has been discovered.

The First Prince sighed, "Ladies, if no discovery is made, there are only two possibilities: either it’s been annihilated or it’s escaped. But we can’t confirm either scenario, so we’ll have to assume it’s escaped."

Eve bowed, "All of you have done your best, and I sincerely thank you on behalf of Gem City. Gem City is currently under siege from Hell, so I must immediately return."

Sariel promptly echoed, "Indeed, because Gem City lacks a Guardian God, one can imagine the motivation and intensity of this Hell siege; we must also return to the city."

The First Prince said, "It’s night now, flying directly back from the Arctic would consume a lot of energy and could encounter unknown dangers. So, I’ll have my ship take you ladies back to the city."

Other princes expressed surprise, "Boss, our ships can only operate near the Arctic Circle."

The First Prince replied solemnly, "I know, so I’ll go alone, trying not to be seen by ordinary people at night. You four, if you still have doubts, can continue searching here."

The Fourth Prince said, "I’ll stay here and continue searching."

The First Prince was intrigued, "Why’s that, Fourth?"

The Fourth Prince sighed, "I’m just really missing that particularly special Water Element; perhaps our forces are so large that it’s pretending to be dead, not daring to move? So I want to try waiting until everyone leaves to see if any anomalies appear."

The First Prince said, "Fair enough, I’ll head out now."

Just then, the Fifth Prince spoke, "I’ll go with the boss too."

The Second and Third Princes reacted, "We’ll go too!"

The First Prince furrowed his brow, "I’m violating regulations; do you all want to follow me in the violation?"

The Fifth Prince laughed, "Since the Fourth isn’t going, we’ll have all the dance partners for the ball, right?"

Sariel was shocked and immediately tackled, "Your Highnesses, this is no time for a ball! If this matter leads to penalties for violations, it will also implicate the City Beauties!"

The Second Prince laughed, "Actually, my thinking is simple; if I stay, there’s a greater suspicion to report the boss’s violation, so I’d rather join him and accept the penalty, instead of letting suspicion grow."

The Fourth Prince replied irritably, "Second, what do you mean? If I stay, I’m the biggest suspect? Fine, you four go, I’ll report all of you!"

The First Prince cut in without wasting words, "Full speed ahead."

Sariel was a bit confused, "Your Highness, why can the Arctic fleet only operate within the Arctic Circle?"

The First Prince sighed with a smile, "Since Ms. Tifa isn’t here, I’ll say it outright; it’s because they’re too advanced and would hurt the sales of Bronze City’s airships."

Sariel was astonished, "That’s it?"

"That’s it."

Metatron listened, deeply skeptical, "Though this reason holds, it feels like there’s a bigger reason."

Sariel said, "Indeed, it feels like these four ships going out will disrupt our siege plan?"

Michael said, "Let’s just observe for now."

At this moment, Metatron’s little black room opened.

Metatron’s heart sank, "Finally bringing this up for interrogation after shutting me in for so long!"

Michael said sternly, "Remember what was said before: stick to the counter-accusations!"

"Understood!"

In the next moment, Metatron reappeared in the white hall, once again facing the black-robed judge.

Mysteriously enough, at the thought that this judge might be the Emperor’s clone, and how the Emperor’s clones operate with his consorts, Metatron couldn’t help but want to laugh.

Sure enough, the judge tossed over a tabloid, "Metatron, what’s your take on this?"

Metatron was furious, "That’s slander!!"

The judge said, "Actually, in my view, this is a great method against the Evil God. It can be handled according to the city wartime defense law regulations; if it’s wartime law, actually you’re innocent on this front."

Metatron was taken aback, "Boss, what’s this situation?"

Michael was bewildered, "Never heard of this law; a new version system auto-update?"

Gabriel was anxious, "What if this law doesn’t exist? Then the judge’s inducing isn’t right; we can’t be fooled!"

Metatron shivered slightly, "Inducing?"

Michael responded, "Given the Emperor’s ruthless approach towards us, it’s possible. Confirm if this law exists."

Metatron immediately asked, "Your Honor, forgive my ignorance, I don’t usually pay attention to legal text. Can I see the related provisions?"

With a wave of his hand, a legal book appeared in Metatron’s hand.

"Page 37, right there."

Gabriel was anxious, "What if the book is fake too?"

Metatron didn’t flip the pages hastily; instead, he checked the publication date of the book’s back cover, published decades ago.

Raphael immediately took a screenshot, "You stall a bit, let me verify the publication number... Butler!"

Only then did Metatron begin slowly turning to that page, reading it carefully and surprisingly, "If this law truly exists, not only would I be innocent, but I’d have earned significant accolades!"

Gabriel anxiously remarked, "Accolades make it even more like inducement!"

Thankfully, the butler was lightning fast, "We have the number! But the original book title is ’The End of Philosophy.’"

Everyone proclaimed, amazed, "It’s indeed a fake law book!"
