The First Legendary Beast Master
Chapter 2041: Immortal Spirit Potion
The first fallout of making a new potion that could help young adults form their Immortal Spirit and become productive members of the Clan were naturally from the Mission Hall Elders.
Nobody in the Darklight Host usually had much to do with them, as they didn’t take missions from the New Home Merchant Clan. But the moment that Elders Socrate and Xiao Bai stepped out of the Tiny World the Elders were waiting for them.
They had intended to go to the Clan Leader and make a full formal report, but news had spread fast, as the children told their parents the good news about the advancement of their Immortal Spirit.
And demanded to be able to go on adventures.
They were going to be stuck in the Darklight Host’s training area for a few weeks, but they were sure that they were going to have their Spirits fully formed by the time that they returned, and had not been subtle about their requests for their parents to find a group that could take them out of the city.
That was enough to cause a panic among certain parents, as the girls were all twelve and thirteen years old.
Not old enough to be going outside the city resource hunting.
It didn’t matter what their power level was, it simply was not going to be viewed as acceptable by their parents.
So, they had contacted the Elders to demand that outside missions not be made available to the young ones, which the Clan didn’t have a rule for. That meant that it went to the Clan Leader, and now there was a whole group waiting for the ones who had caused this situation.
And that meant they had to drag Remi away from her cauldron, as the Naga was fully intending to make another batch before she went anywhere.
"Come on, little snake, you haven’t even begun brewing yet. Time to talk to the Elders." Andrea insisted as she stepped into Remi’s alchemy lab.
"{Busy. People problems are a ’someone else’ type problem. Do you want to help me with this batch?}"
The Succubus laughed as she picked Remi up under the lower arms, then wrapped the Naga’s tail around her waist.
"You’re not getting out of the meetings this time. It’s all about your Alchemy, after all. They’re going to want answers about the process, safety, efficiency, and the next people who are likely to receive it.
That’s all on you because I’m not doing it alone."
Remi struggled a bit, but Andrea was suspiciously strong for her size, able to hold her coils in place while Remi couldn’t crush her due to the Supreme Blessing.
"{ Fine, we can go talk to the old people. But I’m telling you, this is not my department. }"
"If it helps, Elder Socrate will be there as well, and we can force him to do the translation between the real answers and the stupid people."
"{ Oh, that sounds a bit better. Yes, we can do that. Socrate is good at translating. }"
Remi gave a longing look at her cauldron as she was carried out of the room, and then an annoyed glare at the Succubus as she was carried into the city square, to meet with the Elders.
"Since we’re all here now, why don’t we do this in the hotel instead of going back to the New Home?" Andrea suggested as Remi wiggled herself free.
Elder Socrate shook his head. "The Clan Rules say that all grand meetings of the Elders, meaning meetings of four or more for Clan Business, need to be made open to the public at a designated location.
Unless you’ve got a meeting room large enough and two hours to wait. If we change the venue, we need to give them time to gather."
Andrea sighed. "Fine, let’s get going. I know how this is likely going to end, so we might as well get it started now before everyone’s morning coffee wears off."
That made a few of the Elders laugh, but she had a point.
Other than the parents who were upset about their kids being the ones to test the new products, everyone should be in a decent mood. And they weren’t even upset about the resources because they were given under supervision of an approved Elder.
It was the reaction where the kids wanted to go exploring that was giving them headaches.
Remi followed the group through the portal to the New Home Merchant Clan, before she realized that she was holding Andrea’s hand and following without complaint.
"{ You used your magic on me. }" She realized.
"Of course I did. You wouldn’t have left the lab if I didn’t, and you’re not leaving me to get yelled at alone, when half of this was your fault."
The New Home Elders laughed at the pair of Darklight Host Alchemists blaming each other for the situation. Clearly, it was both of their fault, and Elder Socrate was not innocent either. But the Elders suspected that the problem was not that their product had a side effect.
The likely cause was that it worked too well, and someone had problems accepting the change.
But what they found when they reached the hall was that there were a thousand angry parents waiting for them. Someone had informed the other students that there was a pill and potion combination that would let them form their Immortal Spirit within a month after getting their Class, and it had spread through the school like wildfire.
The incident was so extreme that they had to shut down all the senior classes, as the kids were not paying any attention, and just wanted to rush off to pressure their parents for Clan Credits to take to the Alchemy Hall.
The fact that the resources weren’t on sale there yet hadn’t crossed anyone’s mind.
"Are we making wagers on who spread the news?" Andrea whispered as she took her seat in the front section of the hall, reserved for petitioners and witnesses.
Remi giggled. "I’ll give you three guesses and the first two don’t count."
